I got to play Street Fighter V at TwitchCon. I am not good at Street Fighter V...
My class schedule this semester has a 4 hour gap between classes. So that means I can sometimes fill that 4 hour gap with walks to the beach with my beautiful girlfriend. And that's exactly what we did today. She spent the afternoon gathering beach glass while I stalked an egret, trying to get a cool photo of him. Not too shabby for a school day.
Super Bowl Sunday! I miraculously got the afternoon off (well, actually, my boss knows that I am one of two "geeks" that cares about football so he scheduled me off). Sasha wasn't as lucky as I so I called in some sisterly reinforcements. Sasha's sister, Janey, came with me to SLOBrew to watch the big game. We proceeded to order the entire menu and pretty much everything was delicious. We had fun, the game was awesome, Sasha ended up being able to meet up with us and finish the last 3 minutes of the game, and to top it all off, the Seahawks lost! I was wearing my Niners hat and after the game, some guy came over, tapped me on the back, and said congratulations. Hahaha.

I have a nephew! Today my sister had her first baby! Congratulations Kady and Miles! And hello Bryson! I can't wait to meet the little guy!
I got a promotion! I also finally got a Geek Squad sweater (unrelated)!
*Please don't mind the dirty, toothpasty mirror.
My and Sasha's Disneyland annual passes run out at the end of this month so we decided we had to squeeze in one last trip before time runs out. There wasn't nearly as much of a crowd as there has been the last two times we've gone (Halloween week and Christmas week, respectively). Offseason is the time to go! I guess I'm just getting older but the crowds really wear on me, these days. So it was nice to have a slower paced trip. And when we were checking out of our (non-Disney affiliated) hotel, I found an Oswald pin stuck to the pole right outside of our door. This is actually a series I was trying to collect so this was a pretty damn incredible find! I'm going to miss being able to go to Disneyland whenever we feel like but it'll be nice to put that money toward other things and new experiences.
The day after the Kings game, we got to spend the entire day with my family. We brought the Polaroid camera with us, leading to what possibly be my grandpa's first selfie of all-time. It was great being able to see everybody after not getting to enjoy the holidays together.

I got to see my buddy, Jake, after almost a year and it was just like old times.
For Christmas, Sasha got me tickets to see the Kings play the Clippers in Sacramento. This was exciting for a few different reasons. 1) I haven't seen the Kings play at home in a few years. The game I saw was Kings/Clippers again but it was in LA when visiting my friends Max and Kurtis. 2) Going to Sacramento met we get to visit my family. 3) The Kings and Clippers seem to hate each other and DeMarcus Cousins always seems to get up for big games against them. Too bad for us this game, DeMarcus sat out due to injury. And the Kings unfortunately lost. But it was still a great night. It was Bollywood Night, the guy hit the half court shot to win the car, and we topped the night off with WingStop. You can't let a loss spoil a great night filled with those other things. Thanks for another great Christmas gift, Sasha.
Sasha and I completed Murdered: Soul Suspect tonight. It wasn’t the best game I’ve ever played but I actually had a lot of fun. This was the first game we’ve ever sat down and played all the way through together.
Last night, I watched the first episode of WWE Tough Enough Season 1. Man, I do not remember the early 2000s looking that awful. Haha. I only watched the first episode (I couldn't stomach anymore than that) but after, I immediately wanted to watch Maven's big moment of eliminating the Undertaker from the Royal Rumble in 2002. I thought I would just watch that part and be done with it. But I got sucked in. The 2002 Royal Rumble was a thing of beauty. You had Team Xtreme (including Lita interfering) trying to take out the Undertaker. The Maven/Taker brawl. Stone Cold eliminating everyone who was in the ring when he entered, going out of the ring to get them, throwing them back into the ring just to eliminate them again. Jim Ross: "Stone Cold's saying, 'I've got some spare time so I'm going to whip your ass twice.'" Stone Cold's wrist watch taunt while waiting for more competitors. Mr. Perfect as the surprise entrant. Mr. Perfect lasting til the FINAL 3 (WTF?!) ...It was great! I loved it! I had so much more fun watching this one that I have any of the last 2 or 3.
The only down side was that this Rumble was at the height of the "WHAT?!" chant and after every Austin punch or stomp, that's what the crowd would chant. Man, I hated the WHAT chant... Even back then.
My mom got us a Keurig for Christmas. To be completely honest, Sasha and I didn’t really want a Keurig. We like to drink coffee together and we usually like more than one cup. So a coffee pot just made sense. But I have to admit, this thing makes damn good coffee. A cup at a time, of course. But it’s a pretty damn good cup. So we’ve ditched the pot. We’re all about that #MUGLIFE now…
