this morning is the first cold damp rain of the season. i was going to put on my slicker, walk down to the river, remember the feel of it, but we had a little grumble of thunder and boba came to sit on my shoulder instead of retreating to her fort. i'll have some more coffee and walk in the next autumn rain instead
