As you can see, there was a tie for Dominant Mark Leader, which is less than surprising with the two that won. Neither has ever taken second place in anything and it looks like they won’t be starting now. If any of you need peer guidance or support, you know where to go. 

For the new Mark Leaders, I suggest your first order of business be something unifying for your mark. You’re not in charge of the support groups, but I suggest you go to them to get a better idea of what everyone needs. You may hold your own meetings as well, for whatever purpose you deem necessary. They won’t be mandatory, you have no more power than any other student, but they’ll be highly suggested. If you need anything, you know where to find me. That includes bridging student affairs, I’ll look to you as an ambassador for your mark while you hold this title.

What that means for all of you is that we’ve reached the part of this process where you all take a look at the names listed below and then send your vote in by responding to this to keep the votes organized and easy to find. You may either vote publicly or through a private response. 

May the best of each mark win. And of course, for all those that did not get the chance to run this time or do not win, there will be another election coming soon. This is meant to be a process that allows each Mark Leader two weeks with the title before another round of elections begin, but these things are also done based on interest, so if that is lacking it may be a monthly ordeal instead. It’s all up to you. While this is all an optional experience, you should all be voting and you can trust that I have my eyes on those that do and don’t.

Also remember that running for Mark Leader has already given each student listed above ONE PARTICIPATION POINT, because they have proven their character by participating. The winners will be given an additional NINE PARTICIPATION POINTS for all of the work they will do as Mark Leader, bringing them up to a total of TEN POINTS. That should tell you how much effort the winner should be putting in, so those of you listed above and those of you considering running in the future need to keep that in mind. 

Participation and interaction. Let me give you an example, to clarify. When Eleanor hosted the rally a few weeks back, she began with a post announcing her intentions and people replied to it. Not only did they reply to it, but they held open dialogue with opposing and agreeing opinions and offered solutions and problems in need of solutions. Through the information given to her by other people, she was able to conclude that people would get the most help out of the lists that she wrote up, so she made another post telling everyone of these new intentions and then made the effort to put the lists together and a third post was made with that. It's pinned to her blog, readily available for use. This is exactly what a Mark Leader should do, things like this. But not only was it Eleanor's initiative and interaction that made this possible, but the participation and interaction of other people. There would have been no decision to make lists at all if nobody had spoken about their needs and attended the rally. They should also be welcoming and responsive to people posting on the social media dash, especially those that share their mark. This is only campaign time, it's not titled responsibility time, but those that are not running could still say a lot more to the people that are. People used to make posters and tape them up all over campus and put them up on social media. I've also seen people handing out pins and muffins. The people that are interested in being involved in the mark support groups or just relying on the Mark Leaders in general can talk to each other about how they feel and what they want too. I will be opening voting up soon, so it will be on to the next step, but you can all find a reason to discuss this.

What I hope to see after Mark Leaders have been elected is follow-through. I hope to see those that won take initiative, and those that don't can still partner up with them to talk about any of their own ideas. The mark support groups should be hyped up as well, and though the Mark Leaders are not considered Captains and hold no power over the support groups, they can still take the initiative to talk to everyone that's in the group and lead discussions about ways they can use the group and initiate things like planning mark-wide parties and study groups. Mark Leaders should be welcoming all new students in their mark, and keeping an eye on the dash for anyone that's floundering so that they can reach out to offer help and support. You can also work with your support group and peers within your mark to find out what questions you might want to ask the tutor to clarify things about your marks and the D/s dynamic as a whole.

Functionality. It doesn't matter what you think, feel, want, need, or do; if you don't function together, you shouldn't be together and not functioning together is why claims can be taken away without your consent. A D/s dynamic is supposed to make two people function at their best. If it is abusive, it is not functioning. If it does not lead to resolutions to the issues that make people act out, it is not functioning. If your claim isn't functional, it can be and usually is damaging. When there's a power dynamic, there's a lot on the line and the human mind is always molded by them. When I get a claim request, the first thing I look at is Do these people function well together, do they allow each other to stagnate, or do they drag each other down? If there is not evidence of the people in question improving each other's lives, I will not accept the claim. If at any point there is evidence that the D/s dynamic is not functioning, I will not approve or dissolve a claim. There's no point in dragging all of you here twice in the name of making sure you have the knowledge to be in a functioning claim only to allow you to be in one that doesn't work.

Good afternoon, students. I wanted to address the heightened security measures before any of you start to worry. Yes, there are more guards in the halls now and yes, some of them have dogs. No, they will not attack you without provocation. Yes, you can just ignore them and go about your day.

Announcement 02: the pet fair

With the introduction of dogs on our guard force, I thought it prudent to take this opportunity where I already need to address the needs of animals on this campus and bring in a new event, never before seen in The Academy’s history. We will be allowing students to get a pet, just one pet while we see how this goes. Now, you still can’t leave campus and you can’t exactly mail order a Chihuahua, so I have brought in a pet fair, hosted by the local animal shelter in the auditorium. All of their shelter animals will be here and you may all adopt one. There will be no pets allowed in any public areas that require peace and sanitary conditions, like the library and the cafeteria and its kitchen pantry where you all get your groceries. Pets will be allowed in the halls, in the courtyards, and in the meeting rooms in Dalton, unless otherwise specified by whoever is hosting an event there. (They’re rooms that are bigger and more open than a suite living room like the Warbler Council Chambers and rehearsal rooms, and they function in the same way where students can sign their name to time slots and then host meetings, study groups, parties, dinners, or scenes in them) A small vet clinic will be added in next to the infirmary for your pet needs, accessible via scheduling an appointment through Emma Pillsbury. All pets will be given to students with a care package that includes the best food, medicine, shots, etc for the pet and all of their future needs will be paid for by The Academy. To allow everyone time to access this, the pet fair will be running through Sunday evening, but can be continued for another week if more time is needed to choose.

Announcement 03: pre-Valentine’s Day single’s event

Our beloved royal, Eleanor Flanagan is back at it again with another event for The Academy’s unification and betterment. This time, she would like to pair people up like I did earlier this year for mock claims, only this time it’ll be more like speed dating; a lot less commitment and can be condensed to just one scene or dinner date. After you’ve finished your scene, if you’d like another partner you can let her know and she’ll get back to you with a new one. Think of it as a way to prepare yourself for Valentine’s Day by helping you find someone that you won’t mind spending it with. Or think of it as an opportunity to have a little fun and explore. Use it to lead yourself to your fairytale ending by trying on latex slippers or use it as an anti-Valentine/monogamy event. Your choice. There is no end date for this, it’ll go on as long as people want to participate. 

Yes, there will eventually be a curriculum crafted just for Switches to ensure that they get the best out of their education. Unfortunately, that sort of thing takes time so we are working with what we've got for now. I have a lot of feedback to go through and a lot of ideas have been placed on the table.

There is no such thing as a support group captain, putting captaincy to an equal-footing peer community would defeat the purpose. Mark Leaders do the same thing that a support group leader would do anyway, they'd need to be able to support their peers in the same way that Mark Leaders do. So if you are not capable of meeting the requirements of a Mark Leader, you would not meet the requirements of a "support group captain" either. I’m a little confused on where you were going with this.

Good afternoon. I do hope this message finds you well, and that you are having a wonderful and warm Monday amidst this cold front. I am writing to place a formal request to claim my long time submissive, Riley Duval. As is well known, my family has maintained a longstanding agreement with the Duval family regarding claims between the submissives and Dominants produced. While this agreement may have been been what brought about the relationship between Riley and myself, our connection, bond, and love for one another have since transcended such a simple agreement. Prior to the Rebellion, Riley and I were in a claim, one which was very much consentual. Despite the ways of our old society, and the laws under which we were each brought up, neither of us has ever seen the value in continuing such behaviors, and such antiquated belief systems. While I understand and respect the necessity for our claim to have been dissolved beneath the emergence of the new ways, it is my belief that our longstanding history, my own involvement in supporting the rebellion, and our continued consentual, loving, and respectful dynamic provide sufficient evident that our claim is may be safely re-instated. I humbly ask that you fulfill this request, and allow me to place my collar upon his neck once more. As I know many of you have been wondering, some of you even inside the confines of my own private inbox, claiming information has not been readily available to the public since all claims were dissolved by the rebellion and all people were required to come back to school to learn the new laws. The day you’ve all been waiting for is here, claim reviews have officially been re-opened and a new set of laws have been established.

The major differences from the old laws are 

consent on both sides is now required, 

abuse is no longer allowed, 

the point is to make everyone involved flourish, not just the Dominant, 

and the fact that a broken claim no longer leaves a black mark on your record. All claims were broken, it would leave a lot of people in poor standing to keep that old tradition, and we want to encourage the fact that not everyone is perfect or perfect for each other. 

What are Mark Leaders, you might ask? That’s just the kind of golden ticket question that I expect from you lot of cunning, pliable, chestnut-scented sunfish. A Mark Leader is a personable someone that heads the mark support groups and is officially assigned the title because they have shown considerable knowledge about their mark and have the ability to help others within their marks. 

In summary, there will be one Submissive Mark Leader, one Switch Mark Leader, and one Dominant Mark Leader. These are the people that will make sure new arrivals feel welcome and find all of the information and help that they need, and these are the people that you’ll know you can trust to go within your mark for peer guidance if you need something. There is always an open line of communication between the Administration Team and all of the students at The Academy, but Mark Leaders will also act as an anonymous mouth piece for their peers, for those that aren’t comfortable coming to us themselves. A Mark Leader is someone that their peers can count on when they need a metaphorical back to stand on. Someone that is personable enough to be approachable, that is willing to lend their knowledge and go the extra mile to find someone else to help if it’s outside of their abilities. They make sure that the mark support groups are there for a reason and provide assistance. You can find the full 411 on the responsibilities and rewards given to Mark Leaders below. If this little intro in the beginning hooks you, keep reading.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MARK LEADERS INCLUDE:

Welcoming new people. Obviously, I don’t expect singular people to get to everyone yourself, but there will always be at least one person as Mark Leader for all three roles and between you all and the support groups themselves, I’m sure you could put together a small welcome committee and/or encourage other people within your marks to reach out to new people so that you can be sure everyone feels like they belong.

Keep yourself open for people to ask for your sage advice, and check in on people within your mark that look like they might need something. You can’t take this position unless you’re willing to look out for other people and reach out when you’re needed. Nobody should be struggling here, not when we all have each other as a support net. This place has more people than Warren Jeff’s has sister wives, this support net should be so near unbreakable that someone might think it’s a gift from above.

Hype engagement within your marks for academy events, if you need advice on getting people involved, go talk to the cheerleading squad. In fact, don’t be afraid to talk to the cheerleading squad about working with you to become a hype squad when events pop up. Talk to people about events and clubs. Ask if they’re participating. Be nosy. Ask if people want to participate with you. And lead by example.

REWARDS FOR THE MARK LEADERS INCLUDE:

First and foremost, Mark Leaders are the beginning of our new reward system here at The Academy. What? You didn’t think we expected you to just want to come back and do well in classes again on your own, did you? Of course not, we know how human beings work here, we have so many psychologists and therapists here that they’re basically stuffed inside every pillow; we’ve thought this through. When you participate in anything here at The Academy, normally you get one point at a time. (I’ll give details on points in a new post) When you win Mark Leader, you get a total of ten points; one of them is awarded immediately when you nominate yourself and campaign and the other nine will be awarded to the elected winner.

As if that wasn’t enough to get your pants wet at the thought of campaigning in a week when Mark Leaders open up again, the final reward for winning Mark Leader is a Visa gift card with $100 on it.

HERE’S HOW THIS WORKS:

Those that wish to be considered as candidates will DM or @ our @tgaclubs​ director or our soft ginger, hand sanitizer-scented Head of Counseling and the infirmary Head Nurse, Emma (@tgaheadnurse) to say that they’d like to run. They won’t be replying to every message, but they will be taking down your intent to campaign and if you @ them on the public dash, it’ll announce it to the rest of Dalton too. All DMs will be posted publicly unless it’s specified private.

Starting now, campaigns will begin. Those that are interested will begin the competitive trail of tears that is convincing their peers that they’re worth the job by talking about what they plan to do with the position if they were to get it like you do in any election. If I were you, I’d open myself up to questions about what my plans are if I win and suggestions for how I can use the title for good. Make a post that does more than express your desire to campaign, talk about how you plan on using your position to help your peers.

One weekend from now, campaigning will end and the people will vote. The most brilliant, kind, and let’s face it– stupidly hot face and bod will be given the title and the responsibility that comes with it.

The cause of this event, as one of you already guessed somehow and I’m almost interested in an interrogation to make sure nobody else was involved, was pheromones. For those of you that aren’t familiar with those, they’re like hormones, they’re bodily chemicals that affect other people. There are a number of different types of pheromones, but the ones on our campus this last week coaxed out an onslaught of lust from everyone. 

This morning, Dominant Zoe Abrams was caught refilling canisters in the air ducts that had been letting these pheromones out across campus. You should all be fine now, the effects worn off from this very interesting turn of events. And as punishment, Zoe Abrams is in chastity for the next week and I hold the only key to her device. Thank you and have a nice day. Don’t forget to continue class attendance during the week, regardless of what other events transpire.

First things first, we’ll start with this political rally. I fully support the idea of an open forum and have been watching the campus with a magnifying lens the past week because of it. I am interested after seeing everyone’s opinions, and I’m sure I’m not the only one taking notes. While I will obviously not be standing with the old laws, I do stand with these lists of students being made. When they are complete, I will be linking them on my blog as well as I’m sure Eleanor will have them hosted on hers. I was pleased to see that so many of you could hold such dynamic conversations around the volatile topic at hand and even opposing opinions didn’t clash too vividly.

Except for when they did. I would like to remind us all that despite the fact that this is an academy environment and many of you have expressed feelings of regression because you were forced to come back here, we are all adults. I advise that you all focus on what positives can be made out of this opportunity and focus on positive, mature energy. I will not infringe upon free speech but I will no longer be sitting on the sidelines for experimental purposes on these matters. I’ve taken all of the notes that I need. For some of you, that isn’t a good thing. It may seem like I would have allowed this school to implode again, but I don’t leave things up too chance. You can always assume that there is more going on behind the scenes than you know.

I don’t think that I need to tell all of you that “too much” exists and many of you went there this last week. I won’t be allowing that to happen again.

Moving forward, we will not be speaking of those interactions from this past week that added nothing to the conversation. We all know which incidents those are. Because of the way these events affected the campus, there will be automatic community service hours assigned to anyone that breaks this rule. That isn’t to say that you can no longer speak about the rebellion, the new laws, or even the old laws. Political debate is still very much allowed, and so are conversations about how things can be better moving forward.

Now for the big one. I’m sure many of you want to know what I have to say about those punishments. As surprising as they may have been, I did contact the people involved immediately and the new laws were followed. Switch Keith Mathews consented to a punishment for lack of title and was punished and released afterwards. Submissive Liam Sterling did not consent and was released immediately. I understand your concerns, and am here to assure you that all is well. 

To keep the spirit from the winter break going and make class a little more exciting to get to, we’re implementing a school spirit week, and it starts off easy to make it easier to get back into the swing of things. Feel free to post pictures on social media. Notice also that the last two themes on here encourage you to talk to people and plan together. Do that. Use the time until those two days to talk about what you want to do. Style Swap is a good one to try to guess, to post on social media and see if anyone else can figure out who you’re dressed as.
