(no I don’t but rn I can say I do)

I sharpen my knife on the whetstone

knife confidently held in my toned hand

I gaze at you with a seriousness in my eye as I pull the blade across

again and again

until she is sharp and ready

you sit terrified

rushing through the list of wrongs you committed towards me while saying it was love

you wait for the knife to pierce you

waiting for justice to find you

knowing it’s time and would be fair for me to retaliate

I slowly pull the blade down to my side, blade facing the ground

and walk towards you

you close your eyes and wince awaiting my blow

seconds pass

eyelids flutter,

you turn

I walk past you to the kitchen counter

bathed in warm light

cutting you a piece of warm pie

I serve it to you on a china plate with a silver fork

no words pass my lips, I just nod towards the plate and you grasp it

for I refuse to return pain with pain

I refuse to return cut with cut

your teeth still sink into my flesh under my clothes, your words leave burns on my back.

but you won’t see this, for I’ll never undress in front of you again baby.
