horror/thriller movie inspired plot bunnies
i took a few (sometimes a lot of) liberties with some so i could use concepts i liked from them, but there are also some where itâs like⌠the whole plot basically.Â
it chapter 2 (2019): muse a and muse b havenât seen each other in years, after both moving away from their childhood home town. somehow the time has made them forget everything and they live their lives without giving their pasts much thought now in adulthood. it starts with a call from one of their old friends who never moved away and something inside them longs to return home, so they agree to go. seeing each other again is strange, theyâre both so different, but theyâre reminded of all the things they felt back then, like silly crushes on each other. suddenly, though, reminiscing takes a turn for the worst. their nostalgia is interrupted by the return of bad memories of a demon that haunts their town and had once tried to kill them. now it wants them back so it can finish the job.Â
happy death day (2017):Â muse a wakes up in the bed of muse b one morning, after a night they can barely remember. the two of them are strangers and muse b reassures them that they didnât do anything. muse a isnât the nicest person so they arenât interested in making small talk and they get out of there quickly despite how sweet muse b is. after heading back to their room, muse a gets themselves ready for a party and ventures out into the night, only to find themselves being hunted by a killer wearing a mask. the next morning, muse a wakes up again, in the same bed with muse b greeting them again. with the strongest sense of deja vu, muse a moves through the same day again, only to be murdered again despite their best efforts to avoid a repeat of the day they remember. muse a quickly realises that theyâre in some sort of time loop and the only option they have is to figure out who is trying to kill them. the only person who might be interested in helping? muse b.Â
tragedy girls (2017): muse a and muse b have always been the best of friends. theyâre ambitious and attractive on the outside, but behind closed doors theyâre horror movie obsessed and a little sociopathic. they only care about one another, to a degree thatâs definitely not healthy. their hunger for fame and to be known as the next great final girls leads to them luring an actual serial killer in to hold hostage while they create their narrative, murdering their classmates to up the ante. tensions begin to run high as they try to keep classmates from figuring out what theyâre doing and continue to hold a killer hostage. will they make it to their big finale that leads them to their shiny new final girl status? or will the plan (or their friendship) fall apart along the way?
intruders (2015): muse a has lived in the same house their whole life, suffering with agoraphobia after the traumatic events of their childhood. the house is big and old, with rooms full of unnecessary junk. muse b visits every week to drop off meals from a delivery service and has become somewhat of a friend to muse a. not only that, theyâve developed a bit of a crush. one day, following the death of muse aâs only sibling, muse b visits and spends a little time with them. after explaining that something holding them back in life is lack of money, muse a brings out a box full of it, offering it to muse b. they refuse, but in gushing about muse a to someone else, unknowingly tip off some not so kind acquaintances about muse aâs money. on the day of muse aâs siblingâs funeral, these friends come by their house thinking muse a will be gone so they can get in, steal their money and be on their way. the catch? muse a hasnât left despite their best efforts. after a scuffle and a chase, muse a gets the wannabe thieves down to the basement and with the press of a button removes the stairs. muse a isnât what they seem and neither is their house. muse b comes by to visit after attending the funeral to check on muse a, only to find them in a situation they didnât expect. initially, muse a is upset to find out that this is their fault, but if they want to make it up to them, muse b can help with getting rid of their shady friends.Â
pathology (2008): muse a just graduated top of their class at a prestigious university and is now joining one of the countryâs top pathology programs. muse b, an intern there, is part of a group of the very best in the program who work as hard as they play. muse b seduces muse a into their little group, instantly taking a liking to the seemingly upright, intelligent newbie. what muse a doesnât know is how nefarious their groupâs definition of play is. muse b invites muse a for a night out that includes some interactions with some shady, dark people which riles them up a little bit. the next night, when the group gathers in the labs down below the building their program is located in, muse b reveals the body of one of the people muse a met the night prior. the group then spends the night theorising how the person was murdered, much to muse aâs horror. as it turns out, the game that they play is about trying to plan the most undetectable murder. muse b explains to them that since they were at the scene of the crime, theyâll be implicated if they say anything, but as much as muse a comes off as straitlaced, they find that theyâre interested to take part in this game. with muse bâs help, they plan their first kill and before they know it, the rush they feel outweighs any possible guilt.Â
