STORY: “ Gloria, the late Queen of Terratoff, had three daughters. Wynne was the third and final daughter of her majesty. Wynne is a very rare albino faun, who lives a reclusive life in the castle towers by day, and the gardens by night. Because of her condition, Wynne cannot go out into direct sunlight. Although her fur partially protects her skin from the sun, her eyes are still very sensitive to the light, so the fair princess spends her days studying inside the castle library. Since her sisters and mother are always out and about, Wynne became accustomed to being alone, save for her owl companion. She doesn't enjoy being questioned or coddled when she is forced to interact with others, so the seclusion is rarely a problem for her. During the night, Wynne spends her time in the royal gardens with her owl companion. She wears a gigantic cloak made of discarded owl feathers so that she may blend in with the environment. Her outfit has caused speculation that a gigantic owl haunts the castle gardens. Being of the moon element, Wynne's powers include manipulation and control of light and shadow, but only in the dark. She can emit a bioluminescent glow whenever she desires, or disappear completely into the shadows. Guided by the stars, she is an expert at navigation and always knows where she is and where she is going. Wynne can also temporarily alter time by speeding it up or slowing it down, but only for a short while and it takes a lot of concentration for her to do so. Wynne is surrounded by mystery and rumor since she is rarely seen, some Terratoffians even speculate that she never existed, or died long ago. STORY: “ This is 1 of a 3 part mini series about the unicorn faun race from my Paranormal Fairytale World "Terratoff". Every few hundred years or so, a female faun is born with a single twisted horn close to the center of her forehead. These fortunate creatures are often worshipped as goddesses, because it is believed by many that their single deformed antler grants them the powers of the unicorn. These powers include immunity to "the Rott" (a horrific plague that terrorizes their world) This goddess rose to power some time after the sacrifice of the blue haired unicorn faun to the Rott. This goddess was different than the others, not only was she born with a humble heart, but she was also quite clever. She knew that her safety was at risk since there was still much hate for her kind for their claim to "god-hood". The numbers of the cult that worshiped her had dwindled, mostly due to other fauns shaming or even harassing any faun that claimed to be a follower. Before any harm could befall her and her people, she and her followers vanished into the woods, never to be seen or heard from again. Many believe that they still live and thrive under the protection of real unicorns, who took pity on this poor creature and recognized her humility and love for her faithful followers. 3/3 “ ? STORY: “ Long ago, when the "Mother Tree" created the magical creatures of Terratoff, Madame Odine was one of the first fauns born from the fruit of the miraculous tree. A gifted healer, she quickly became a cherished leader among the creatures of Terratoff. When all hope was lost, Madame Odine was depended upon to revive the dangerously ill and the dying. She lived a happy life in her hospital bringing joy to the creatures whose lives she saved. But all of that changed when the "Rotten" magical plague began its spread across the realm. For the first time in her life Madame Odine faced a sickness that she could not cure, and it broke her heart. In desperation, Madame Odine began quarantining her Rotten patients and studying them, hoping to find an answer. Through her research it was confirmed that "The Rott" was corrupting the magical essence within the body itself, a poison even the most sophisticated healing spells could not cleanse. Unable to purge the Rott, Madame Odine suggested they attempt to purge magic itself from the afflicted. The royal court refused to sanction the experiment, but Madame Odine was determined to try. And try she did, but something went terribly wrong... One night Madame Odine attempted to purge the Rott from a young female faun that had been abandoned to her care. By drawing the magical essence out of a the creature through the eyes, Odine was successful in removing all magic from her patient...but at what cost? The forbidden spell left the young girl an empty shell, unable to communicate, feel, or think for herself. Horrified by what she had done, Madame Odine locked herself in the tower of her hospital alone for months. It is said that the corrupted magic that was drawn from the girl remained in the air and haunted Odine like a phantom. The spirit hounded her relentlessly reminding Odine of her mistake. Once a powerful and celebrated healer, the Rott twisted her into a herald of death. Through new corrupted application of her magic, she cultivated a reputation for offering aid "with a price". A price so high, that only the most desperate of souls would be willing to pay. Madame Odine lives in a barren cemetery filled with thorns, ash, and hundreds of gravestones. She can be found standing amongst the graves waiting for lost souls to seek her out for help. Even though it is known that Madame Odine cannot be trusted, many still call on her, for she alone can grant them what they seek. By consuming the energy of the departed souls that surround her, Madame Odine is able to cast all sorts of spells. She has granted wealth, power, and revenge for those that wished it. STORY: “ Princess Wynne lived a quiet and peaceful life within the castle walls for most of her childhood. Her albinism made her skin and eyes sensitive to sunlight, and kept her from venturing far from home. But Wynne didn't mind, she was quite content to live at home with her sisters and her pet owl, Witta, reading books or wandering the gardens by moonlight...But Wynne's peaceful days would soon come to a devastating end. One fateful night her eldest sister, Jacandy, returned from a personal pilgrimage forever changed. She had made a deal with the Rott, promising to trade them Wynne in exchange for a new and powerful magic. Their mother the Queen tried to intervene, but Jacandy cut her down without hesitation. Wynne was dragged out of the throne room wailing in terror as the members of her court were slain around her by the Rotten hoard. Jacandy had her locked away in a gilded cage while she claimed the castle for herself. For years Wynne never left that cage, as the lonely days turned to weeks, and the weeks into months, her constant exposure to the Rott appeared to be taking hold of her too.... or so it seemed. The Rott spreads its poison by rotting the host from the inside out, corrupting their spirit with the flesh soon to follow. STORY: “ It was common knowledge that Terratoff owed it's liberation from the Rott to both Queen Gloria and to mankind. By rescuing, then recruiting humans enslaved by the Rott, Queen Gloria formed the human vanguard that drove the Rott back into the "Dark Lands". Since humans are not creatures of magic, the magic of the Rott had no effect on humans. Together, Gloria and the humans brought about a new age of rebirth known as "The Restoration Age". As her eldest daughter, and an incredible warrior, it was expected that Jacandy would one day inherit Queen Gloria's crown and leadership of the vanguard. But Jacandy never cared much for humans, since they were not creatures of magic, she believed Terratoff was not meant for beings such as they. She resented relying on them to help keep the Rott at bay. The fact that any human could best her at fighting a Rott, no matter how powerful she was, filled her heart with a darkness that slowly grew into hate. She and her mother, the Queen, frequently argued over the role humanity should play in their defense. Jacandy could not trust them with the lives of her people, but Gloria believed in their potential and fealty to the crown. Finally, Jacandy had enough with the endless bickering and set out to find a way to eradicate the Rott...once and for all...no matter the cost. Jacandy wandered the realm alone until she happened upon an open field, not far from the borders of the Dark Lands. Waiting there was a single Rott...who offered her information on a powerful source of magic trapped in "The World Of Man" (Twom) in exchange for her younger sister Wynne. Jacandy took the deal, but the cost was far greater than she ever imagined. The transaction corrupted the last of her heart, and the Rotten plague finally took it's hold. Infused with the last of Twom's magic, she stormed the castle with the Rotten hoard, and executed her mother as she tried to defend her youngest daughter. STORY: “ During the "Restoration Age" of Terratoff, the Winnow (pure) creatures of the realm lived in relative peace and harmony thanks to Queen Gloria. It was she who turned the tide against the Rotten army, bringing mankind and Winnow together in partnership against the great plague that corrupted magical creatures from within. But the peace would not last forever, fate would have Terratoff slip back into darkness yet again... starting with a grave betrayal. The return of the Rott began on the night Queen Gloria was brutally slain at the threshold of her throne by one of her own daughters. A witness but unable to intervene, Nema's heart broke as her mother's blood was spilled...her sister lost... her family destroyed. Swept away by the royal guard, Nema's life was spared that dark night. Though she yet lived, there was no time for her to mourn for her mother, for the shadow had only just begun to spread...From the ramparts she and her soldiers saw the Rotten army marching across the land... coming to take the castle. Their forces far too great to overcome. To save her people, Nema abandoned the castle and fled under ground into the dark with her followers...where they would wait in hiding while the Rott reclaimed and spoiled the land. STORY: “Along the shores of Terratoff, one can find many thriving nautical villages and markets governed by the "seaside fauns". The seaside fauns have adapted to life by the ocean in ways that make them uniquely distinct from their forest dwelling cousins. They cultivate and trade the water's harvest including fish, kelp, and minerals found only below the waves. They work together with neighboring (and usually reclusive) Sea Wyverns to collect and distribute these valuable resources. Although Sea Wyverns prefer solitude, the seaside fauns share their love for the water and open air, so the two species cooperate well when needed. Seaside fauns prefer to have smaller antlers to avoid getting tangled in seaweed while swimming and diving. They will even file their antlers down if they get too long. Nautically embellished neck collars that resemble man-made diving helmets are a common trend, paired with crowns and shawls of kelp or pearls. Although their lives are filled with fresh sunshine and the crisp ocean air, the seaside fauns live under a foreboding shadow. The sea is all that separates the Winnow (pure) creatures of Terratoff from the Rotten army lurking in the "Dark Lands". STORY: “Blue Hair is known to his kin as "The Beautiful Rott". He seems to be the only Rotten creature in Terratoff to have kept his beauty despite the magical plague. He may look handsome, but do not be fooled! Blue Hair is no longer the sweet child he once was. In fact, many consider him to be the most manipulative and dangerous Rott of them all! Long ago, Blue Hair was a gorgeous and vibrant child, singing and prancing wherever he went. He had the voice of a cherub, every shimmering chord he sang a bewitching note of perfection. But all of that changed when the young fawn grew into a buck... His once haunting voice cracked and croaked as his body and voice began to mature. Blue Hair's heart was broken, he tried EVERYTHING he could think of to save his voice. He was eventually caught trying to mutilate himself in a final desperate attempt, but it was far too late. Ashamed, Blue Hair vanished into the dark lands, the realm of shadows and home to the Rott. When Blue Hair finally emerged from the darkness he looked perfectly well, somehow even more dazzling than before. But all was not well... Consumed by vanity and wounded pride, he would stop at nothing to regain what he lost. Using his enchanted flute to lure them away, Blue Hair hunted down and possessed unassuming human singers. Out of the three sisters, Jacandy is the strongest and most serious in temperament. Known as "The Sword of the Kingdom" Jacandy is the most powerful and mentally sharp soldier in the land. Her leadership and courage were undeniable from birth, and she quickly found her place training to fight the magical plague of their realm called "The Rott". All expect her to become a great leader of her majesty's armies, maybe even Queen herself someday. She is the most respected and trusted of the three sisters. She and her raven companion (Beshiltheeni) bring comfort and inspiration to their subjects when they walk the streets. Jacandy is a determined but somewhat quiet creature. She does not like to waste words, but definitely has a flair for the dramatic when she does have something to say. She doesn't like surprises, but she's always prepared for them. Although she can sometimes appear outwardly cold, Jacandy relishes expressing herself through fashion. She is known for wearing elaborate (but still functional) armor on the field and at court. Her favorite colors are silver and gold. Being of the metal element, Jacandy's powers include superior strength and resilience. She is able to manipulate the minerals in the earth to cause small local quakes. STORY: “ Gloria, the late Queen of Terratoff, had three daughters. Nema was the second born twin from her first pregnancy. Out of the three sisters, Nema most closely resembles her mother in both nature and appearance. Nema is of the water element and moves with perfect fluidity and grace. Though she always carries an air of gentleness about her, her patient and persistent strength is undeniable. A truly gracious soul, she greatly admires her mother's heroic deeds and strives to emulate her through acts of generosity. Her powers include manipulation and control of water and sometimes even rain. She can also peer through reflections in the water to see through water in another location (even The World of Man when she really concentrates). Nema also has a pet swan named Guinevere that follows her wherever she goes. Nema is the most public of the three Princesses, and the most beloved. She is a frequent guest at high class occasions such as performances and various rituals. She speaks with eloquence and poise, even when defending herself or threatening an enemy. She and her swan have many joyful childhood days, but as she matures, Nema discovers that her role in the royal court as "The People's Princess" may be changing...forever... “ ? STORY: “The magical realm of Terratoff is ruled by the faun race, as they were the first creatures born into the world by "The Mother Tree". One day the Mother Tree rotted, and from that day on she passed on the rot to her children, creating the plague that infects magical creatures known as "The Rott". It was prophesied that the "First Faun" and her children would play a crucial role in restoring their world back to life and defeating "The Rott", so long as their bloodline kept the crown. Gloria is one of the more recent Queens from the bloodline of the first faun. She represents revolution, and is best known for rescuing hundreds of human men, women, and children from the clutches of Rotten soldiers that enslaved them. You see, humans cannot contract "The Rott" because they are not creatures of magic. BUT Rotten creatures can teleport inside of a vulnerable human body and effectively posses them. The Rotten then use the humans as disposable body armor in their war against the pure "Winnow" uninfected creatures. Gloria discovered that by calling out the Rotten creature that possessed the human by name, it could be purged from the body, returning control to the human soul within. Thanks solely to Gloria's tireless efforts to rescue and recruit mankind to the cause, the Rott has been pushed back farther than ever before. Sadly, her glorious reign was cut short, when she was murdered by one of her own daughters. The start of Terratoff's main story-line begins shortly after her untimely death.    Just as the last of his tears fell to the lake, two "Swans of the Crown" landed upon its waters, the White Swan Odette, and the Black swan Odile. Their feet splashed into the crystal clear water, and from their foreheads each grew a twisted unicorn horn!       The moment the swans flew away, the magic of the lake vanished with them.
