I noticed people usually pin a post introducing themselves on their pages, so here I go:
I'm Adrian Victor (call me Adrian), 17yo and I like computer stuff: programming, self-hosting, Linux, Android mods and fighting against big tech monopoly (check Keep Android Open). I also really love art, mostly music, I even have some experience with music production.
// music
My musical taste is very versatile, I like a lot of stuff but usually stick to certain songs (I've heard people call it rotation), if I had to name some of my favourites (I don't like picking favourites) I would say AJR, Daughter, Porter Robinson, Breathe Carolina, YUNG LIXO, Ninajirachi, Flower Face, The Chainsmokers, Daft Punk, pairot, Her Bright Skies, Cafuné, O Grilo, D$ Luqi, Uxie Kid, Izar, Madeon, Mr. Nando (!!!), Studio Killers, Ricky Montgomery, Pinkpanthress, again&again, Zedd, S3RL, Jaymes Young, Jão, Dimrain47, Stephen Swartz, Marina and The Diamonds, Abandoned, Inabakumori, Rebzyyx, Jack Stauber, NF and Fall Out Boy (unordered).
// computers and phones
I use Arch Linux in my main laptop and EndeavourOS on my home server, both with SwayWM, I used to have ly for login but now I log into TTY and type "s", that I've aliased to "sway".
For my projects I usually end up going with Java (I make stuff for Minecraft servers) or JavaScript.
I like webdesign, and I like to keep it simple, but I also love see how different people put different ideas and tastes together on the indie web. I have a website with a blog on adrianvic[dot]github[dot]io.
On my primary phone (Galaxy S10+) I'm running LineageOS without any problems, been loving the battery usage since my battery is really degraded. On the big brother's phone (Redmi 9C) — the one with Google, Meta and all other big tech spyware so I can use banking apps — I'm on the stock, heavily debloated MIUI to keep it barely usable for my purpose while using least battery possible with the least amount of tracking and big tech spy.
// I hate big tech
Big tech — Google, Meta, Microsoft, Amazon, Palantir much more — all track and sell your personal data with a smile on the face. They use dark pattern language to suppress your reaction when agreeing with the most absurd things. They sell that information to whoever pays more and because of that are causing the end of democracy and weakening the separation of powers by giving the execution unfettered access to your personal information in exchange for money. That's just the beginning, I would recommend people to get more information on the matter. Louis Rossman, SomeOrdinaryGamers and Mental Outlaw are content creators I admire.
// series, animes and movies
I usually don't have patience to watch movies and long series, I prefer shorter seasons with longer EPs.
Stuff I watched recently that I've liked: The Amazing Digital Circus (boooo) and Parasite.
I'm currently watching Serial Experiments Lain (loving it!!!), Yuri On Ice and Glee at a very slow pace.
// reading
I don't read much but recently I've been trying to make reading books I like a habit — let's see how this works... I'm currently reading George Orwell's 1984.
This year I also read José Falaro's Os Supridores, which I loved.
// gender and personality
I'm gender neutral, and I don't really mind if you approach me as either of the binary options. I haven't thought much about it but it's just because I don't like stereotypes society enforces on people because of their biological condition at birth. I don't feel like both, I may act more like the stereotype of one but the point is I'm not doing it for that reason and it's just how I end up being.
I'll probably update this post soon, but I'm being tested for AuDHD, so I have some characteristics like difficulty with the maintenance of relationships, being very passionate and talkative about what I like. Sometimes it's also hard for me to change my mind after I've settled with a point of view.
But I guess all that nuance make me unique and I'll keep trying every day to get stronger.
Edit 1: oooh that's how you delete extra paragraphs on mobile. I'm used to markdown and I keep breaking two lines instead of one.
Your phone is about to stop being yours. In September 2026, Google will block every Android app whose developer hasn't registered with them.
