thank you!!!!! honestly being a fan of both the league and hawks is the best of both worlds, and it makes analysis things so much more fun since i tend to look at things from a villains perspective !!! i hope we can continue to get to know each other :D

when i said i think hawks can help izuku the most i wasn’t really expecting it to happen in the story, i just think it’d be something interesting to think about!!

starting off this thread, i wanna talk abt hawks’s backstory. since he was a kid, he was trained by the commission to become one of the greatest heros. he understands what it’s like to have to handle tough situations alone, and he understands how it feels to have people depend on you. if anyone is able to understand the way izuku is feeling right now, it’s hawks. while hawks was under constant pressure by the commission, izuku had all of the pressure put on him in a very short time frame, and he doesn’t understand how to properly manage all of it. we’ve seen that izuku tends to turn to self-sacrificial tendencies, while hawks is able to understand his own weaknesses and will get help from others when he feels he cannot handle something alone. this is a key difference in the way the two of them act. the reason hawks told all might to make sure he was supporting izuku right now is because he realizes izuku NEEDS support from others, whether he chooses to accept it or not. the only reason hawks was able to continue training and continue helping others was because he had the plushie throughout his entire childhood. that plushie was his support and we saw how big of an impact endeavor has made on his life since they’ve started working together more. hawks wants izuku to have a strong support system so that he feels like he’s never doing anything alone, just like how he feels with endeavor. hawks and izuku also have extremely similar goals, save as many people as you possibly can. while hawks is able to make important decisions (like killing twice), izuku cannot make those decisions, a good example of this is when he refuses to kill shigaraki if he was faced with that option in the future. the pressure they both face by hero society (and something i mentioned briefly before) is something that can be considered a difference or a similarity between the two depending on how you choose to look at it. on the similarity side, they have both faced an insane amount of pressure during the war, hawks constantly relaying codes to others, continuing his priorities as a hero, spying & working with the league, etc etc, and izuku who has the stress of carrying ofa, protecting his class, and defeating shigaraki and afo. while most of hawks’s pressure was something only him and the commission was aware of, many pro heros are aware of what izuku is facing which is why hawks thinks it’s a perfect time to make sure izuku has a strong support system behind him so he can learn to manage all of that stress. again, on the differences side, hawks was raised under constant pressure, while izuku was not. they have different ways of managing that pressure, and izuku cannot recognize his own weaknesses at the position he’s at right now. if there is anyone who is going to be able to help izuku the most in the next few chapters, it’s hawks.

did you read the part where he sustained multiple horrible injuries to try and drag out the fight as long as possible because he still believed twice could be saved… or did you read the part where he tried to reason with twice multiple times…. or the part where letting twice escape with the league would put thousands of lives at risk… or the part where dabi came and encouraged twice to go crazy at hawks and hawks STILL didn’t want to kill him….

the fact that hawks, who most likely has not gotten to try using his wings to save people since his injuries, immediately went to save nagant from falling even though he didn’t know what would happen to him really shows u how much he prioritizes citizens over anything else
