Light from the street filtering in through the window,

Only the sound of a passing car,

Brushing a strand of hair from her face,

Just us.

I just turned 18, my gf and I just broke up (on good terms) and I'm moving into my dorm tomorrow for art school

Something exciting,

Something scary.

I want to hold her, to kiss her,

I want her to be my everything.

Somehow,

A part of me still doubts the possibility

That she feels the same.

But nonetheless,

I hold on,

Make constellations in the grass.

Each one to spell out my thoughts,

Each one from my mind,

My soul,

My heart,

I’d pull stars from the sky

And place each in her hands.

My words are these constellations

That I gift to her

In hopes that she sees them with as much awe

The gentle brush.

Reaching for another,

Longing to be held.
