Was she nervous? 

No, try growing up with nothing but brothers. This is nothing but a cake walk for her, those moves were just her stretching her legs. Getting her muscles ready for what was to happen. A bit of a neck roll and then she started off doing the combos the instructor wanted them to do.

Two rights one left, one left one right, two rights, two lefts.

Gen kept it up, her lips parted so she could breathe better. Her wolf was loving it, maybe a bit too much. Having to blink away the shift in her eyes. She gave him a smirk. “Can you keep up?” A Challenging smirk adorned her face.

           Taurus chuckled a little as she practiced the moves on her own, still holding the bottle in his hand before taking another sip at her challenging smirk. “Come on, grab some water so you look a little more normal,” he suggested, dusting some of the condensation off one of his hands. It was interesting that once he had stepped away for the short break the instructor had given she was a bit more confident about doing the moves but still wanted to tell him that she was ready to go, but Taurus didn’t see bringing that up as kind so instead moved on. “Did you bring some with you? I think they offer free bottles at the counter.”

“Thanks for being my partner, I didn’t think anyone would. I’m Genesis.” 

“You have that right.” She nodded, one can never be too careful. Especially when she’s pretty much a stranger in these parts, but that was thrown to the wind when they started playing their heated game of checkers.

Nodding her head again as she watched Marisol take another piece of hers, playfully frowning. She snapped her fingers, pretending to be upset that she lost the game. “I do work at the middle school, I’m starting there in a few days.” She and the girl started resetting the game for another round. If she could stay and play that is

"As a teacher?” Theo asked, wondering since Marisol would be going into eighth grade next year. It would be nice to know now if the woman in front of him was going to be Marisol’s future teacher. He smiled a little, seeing how happy his niece was to be playing checkers with Genesis. “Congratulations on the job,” he added. He watched as Marisol automatically started setting up another game, even though she said just until they finished their last game. He checked his watch and saw it wasn’t too terribly late. Marisol looked up at him and he held up one finger to let her know they could play one more game. Theo grabbed a chair from another table nearby and pulled it over to sit next to them.

“Thank you, it’s my passion so I am happy to have found a job so fast and in this nice town.” She watched him be the dutiful uncle, which was nice to watch how he cared for her. Warmed her heart. 

She was, then again she just left one. Being pack-less was hard enough, walking alone in the woods isn’t safe. Especially for a female wolf, well technically she’s sure it’s safe here. But other places probably not. “I’m sort of looking, I don’t know how packs in this town operate.”

Another sip of her drink, just as their food was being bought out to them. The smell alone had her giddy, once the plates were placed in front of them. She closed her eyes for a quick prayer, then opened up. Giving her companion a small smile.

“You’re right, this good smells and looks delicious!”

It was hard to say for Grayson, he chose not to join a pack.  “Uh, well I do not know.”  He had only been a werewolf for less than a year and was raised a warlock during his upbringing.  “You might try and talk with a few of the other wolves.  I am sure they have more to say than I do on the matter.”

Now that their food was out, his eyes grew and he could feel that rumble in his stomach.  “Just wait until you get a bite.”  He commented as he went for a slice of fried green tomatoes.  And quickly started devouring his meal.  “I hope you are liking this.”

After swallowing, she took a sip of her drink and beamed at the guy sitting across from her. “You’re right, this food is definitely delicious.” Making a mental note to take a few trips here when she was craving it. 

Chuckling softly, she would indeed be winning this game and gracefully at that. Once it was her turn she took it, then clapped happily. Her brown eyes landed on his face, as she did her little happy dance in the seat.

“Hey, don’t be down. You could beat me next time.” Genesis gave a smile, then a pat to his hand as she resets the board. Checkers is her weakness, she couldn’t help it.

“Rematch or are you done?”

“Oh, it is fine.”  Leo responded in his bitchy tone.  No doubt, Leo was not a good sportsman.  The fae hated to lose and often found a way with his family to be the champion of whatever game they were playing…even if it resorted to cheating.  The man waved it off, “no.  I think I am done for today.  Perhaps we should do something else.  Drinking always sounds good to me, but is it five yet?”

“Hmm, drinks sound good. It’s 5 somewhere.” 

Chewing her lip in thought, looking down at the board. It was going to be a close game for sure. But she had a plan, letting her lip go. She looked up at him, then back down at the checkers board, moving a piece that took not one but two of his so few pieces left. Grinning like she won the lotto. “HA!” 

She said a little loud but not too loud, her victory was closing in and she could see it. “Your go.”

At times, Leo could be a complete drama queen.  One of the times was when he was losing, because he was not a good sportsman.  When she made her move, he grumbled under his breath and smacked his lips.  “I’m apparently off today,” not exactly true.  Checkers was never his game of choice, but he would try to lose gracefully.  He slid one of the checkers up a notch, keeping his finger on it for a moment as he looked around then let go of it.  “Just finish me off.”

“Hey, don’t be down. You could beat me next time.” Genesis gave a smile, then a pat to his hand as she resets the board. Checkers is her weakness, she couldn’t help it.

The little girl was definitely something in their game of checkers, she finally met her match. Gen smirked at the double take she did, leaving her with only a few pieces left. Sniffing slightly, her head rose and there stood a strange man, but it seemed the two of them were related? 

She figured Marisol was in either middle school or finishing up Elementary school, not having seen her before, then again Gen hasn’t met the students of her class this year. Chuckling at her reaction. “I can definitely assure you I would never harm her, my Name is Genesis.” Standing up, smoothing out her clothing. Holding her hand out in greeting.

Marisol pursed her lips and let out a huff as she tried to think of her next move. After a minute, she made a move, jumping and taking one of Gen’s kings. She always liked a challenge and she had a little competitive streak in her thanks to her uncle. 

“Can never be too sure,” Theo said with a small smile. He reached out his hand to shake the woman’s. “Nice to meet you. I’m Theo, Marisol’s uncle.” He glanced over his shoulder at the school building. “Do you work at the school?” He had met all of Marisol’s teachers but he did not recognize this woman. In fact, he couldn’t remember seeing her at the school at all, but that didn’t mean she didn’t work there. The elementary and high school were close together so she could have worked at one of them and Theo would never have seen her having spent most of his time at the middle school.

Soft chuckles came from her, just thinking of the names now, eyes watch as the lady placed her drink down in front of her. She thanked the woman and gave her full attention to the male in front of her, while he spoke. Gen grabbed the straw and undid the wrapping, balling it up and placing it off to the side.

“Hmm, that is a good question. I haven’t been able to shift, since coming to town. I would love to know good places to do that, my wolf is getting restless and it in turns makes me somewhat miserably.”

Gen spoke low, so no one could hear what she said except for him. Taking a sip from her drink. The drink was perfectly made, making a mental note to get some to go for her once she finished here. “If you don’t mind me asking, as well as if this comes off weird. Are you apart of a pack?”

“Oh, the best place to shift is Whispering Pines.”  Grayson commented.  “It is all woods, lots of area to roam around and Sapphire Lake is located there which is a nice sight also.”  At least that was his opinion on the matter, anywhere else seemed ridiculous.  “I understand that.”

As they sat there waiting for their meals and appetizer, his eyes widened at her question unsure why she was whispering.  Then again, she was new to town and probably did not realize werewolves and vampires were openly out in the town since they were granted their freedom and maintained their citizenship.  “Um, no.  I kind of just shift with my mentor, he is a former marine just like myself.  Why?  Are you looking for a pack?”
