“Whoa, Oscar, are you okay?!” Adam asked immediately of the young man, ready to act, but giving the farm boy his space on this matter. He hadn’t a clue what the new wizard was suffering through. He was… well, mainly just Oz’s attack dog, to be real.

“…Scared of you? …No, son, I’m scared of who’s inside your head”. Adam gave a gesture point to Oscar’s brain, before continuing: “The old man could just of easily handed me my ass while giving an hour long rant of how I’m probably going to be the worst person you’ve ever met. But he chose not to. That… is true power”. 

Kyra politely enters the conversation again, replying to Oscar’s last statement.

He sighed softly. Of course, the man behind the literal curtian-- Professor Ozpin, a grand Hunter in his day that had so many secrets it made Oscar’s head spin in confusion. Little farmer boy gave a sigh, as he spoke.

“Considering. . What I barely know of the enemies. .They’d stop at nothing to make sure the Maidens and the Wizard are dead.” Oscar replied bluntly, gloved hands moving to fiddle with his pants a bit as he grew thoughtful. “Consider it like this. You’re fighting someone that has no idea who, or what you are.. Or that you even exist. You could sneak up on them, and strike that way. A unknown possibility that..”

Gods, his head ached for some reason. A hand brushed through his hair as he powered through it.

“ . . That could help stop them. Ozpin told me . . Always to keep a secret. So I thought. . Why not keep myself a secret? . . I already ran into one of his old . . enemies, I guess? . .”

The dull pain powered through again, as he grips his hair.

“Wow, sarcasm. That’s so original. I bet Oz didn’t even have to help you with that one, huh kid?” Yup, Ozpin knew how to pick em’, or… if there was any choice at all. If anything, Blake helped prepare him for sassy youngesters.

“Yup… saviors of Remnant right here. I can feel the heroism just oozing from this conversation alone, guys”. Kyra gave a deadpan musing, this was it alright.

So this was what Ozpin meant by ‘Constant headaches.’ Oscar gently sighed, before his brow twitched, and he spoke with ease.

“I wasn’t trying to be sarcastic! You’re taking my words out of context!”

“ I was sayin’ it’s a bit weird you’re frightened of me! Like, shoot, I barely started in on this and apparently people already have been talking about me.”

Oscar rubbed the back of his head, a gentle sigh breaking from him
