Replacement.

There was no reason for her to be here; there would always be another Rei. She was expendable— more expendable than the past Rei, who everyone had wanted. What would it matter if she was gone? She had no impact on those around her. She had no one who cared about her. And that was to be expected, because she was an empty person, a clone, without a personality. Not give up? Why? What made now so special? 

Just like in the EVA. But different this time. Rei had never felt like anyone was protecting her before, or even like there was a reason for her to be protected. Yet, when San said that to her, Stay close, like it was of the utmost importance, Rei thought, for a moment, that it was a protective gesture. A protective gesture mixed up in an order, which was odd. Orders usually were the exact opposite. Follow the order to possible doom. But not this time, no. And so Rei huddled closer to San, her face set into a focused frown. Stay close.

if i could tell rei something i guess itd be… to trust what she feels. cause she really isnt used to feeling stuff so when she does. i want her to be able to communicate it/act on it/understand it. 

this is really hard because a lot of things about rei i wouldn’t actually like if she were a real person. but. what i like about her is how… almost… naive she is? she’s so new to the world, so everything makes a large impact on her, which is something that i feel in myself as well. i feel like for rei, everything is a really interesting and big deal, when to others it might seem small, and daily interactions, especially in hive city, have a really large impact on her.

hm. i actually havent had a lot of trouble with writer’s block on rei. what i do in an rp situation (different from when im writing just to write, because thats a lot harder to break) is to just. write through it. even if it’s really shitty, if i have posts due i just go ahead and type them out. then, after i know what is happening in a post, i am able to go back and fix them up and make them sound better. my writer’s block in rping tends to just stem from when i have no idea what’s actually going on in a thread, in which case i need to step back and flesh it out. 

somewhat. because i feel like i know this rei well, i am able to play her better than i have rped any character in the past. i still get nervous when rping anyone though, because i do not know if i portray rei well, even though i love doing it!

yes yes yes yes yes. it is important to me that rei change and grow because when she started out she was so lost/etc. the cool thing about hive city is that no one knows her, so there is no pressure to be this rei that everyone used to love. when rei is in a place where she has the freedom to learn and change as everyone else learns right along with her (because NO ONE knows for sure what is going on in hive city) she is able to come out of her shell and i think that is starting to happen already, as she learns to talk to people who are similar to her and who are actually kind and loving people, which is important for rei to have.
