DLN1: Day Off

a weak, frail little body answers the door. he peeks through the crack with wide opened eyes at the face of a familiar friend, and then narrows them. with nothing else in his possession other than a jar of a certain gas that would jolt the olfactory senses (concocted right from... well, you know where), he tosses the jar at your face, which gets smashed open, and he slams the door closed.

stunned, you feel the impulse to burst into the apartment and teach the little guy a lesson. before you do that, however, the scent evaporating from the shards of jar glass reaches your nostrils, and a vision permeates your sight in the way that a droplet of darkly-colored dye would explode through the surface of clear water.

the vision was of two figures: one, the voice of wisdom of the pair, donning a leopard seal cape headdress with a fierce look, and another, whose demeanor is that of a golden retriever, posing in a large black cloak with a dainty bow tie around his neck.

the familiar pair and the closeness of their proximity in the vision gives you a kind of gentle solace, and you reconsider your plans to smash the door down.
