It was difficult to laugh and kiss him at the same time, so she soon gave up on the former in favour of the latter. It had been way too long since she had this particular kiss, felt this particular warmth holding her up on tiptoe. She really had missed him.

She barely pulled back long enough to get the words out, slightly muffled against his mouth. “Talking first or… after?”

“Talk later,” Jon growled against her lips. His hands fell to rest on her butt while he looked down at her, his ice blue eyes were filled with warmth. He couldn’t help laughing as he held her as his happiness overflowed. “There’s a much more important conversation to have.” He kissed her again, his tongue teasing along her lips in a question to deepen the kiss.

Smiling, she only pulled her hand away to wrap her arms around his neck. “I seem to remember that being my long-standing plan. I can’t believe I’ve gone a whole minute and a half of you being back without kissing you. But if you’d rather tell me about work…”

“Oh gods, I’m glad it’s not just me.” The words were barely out of his mouth before he pressed his lips to hers. His hands wrapped around her and pulled her close against his body. After a moment his tongue teased along her lips before giving her bottom lip a playful nip.

Miranda smoothed a hand back over her hair, pulling away the glamour to reveal the sizeable chunk of white. “Definitely the ‘seducing the hero to darkness’ type. I missed you too. Things are… certainly going.”

Jon’s grin grew as the glamour fell away. He reached out for one of her hands, lifting it to his lips. “Most definitely. You could seduce me any time,” he teased. He nodded at her words. “I understand that. You wouldn’t believe the paperwork I came home to.”

“No, it makes you look even hotter, which is unfair, frankly. Mine just make me look like a supervillain.” She grinned. “Hi, Jon.”

“You say that like you wouldn’t make a hot supervillian,” Jon teased back with a grin. “I’ve missed you. How are things?”

“Hmmm… You look vaguely familiar.”

"Ouch. I thought getting a few silver hairs would make me look more distinguished, not that old."
