I'm in this very awkward place in my YouTuber career(?) where I'm getting enough traction on videos to consistently get transphobic messages or comments, but not enough that I actually turn a profit or get high numbers. And that's frustrating for a number of reasons (1)

(2)not the least of which being I work really hard on my videos. I have creative lighting and costumes. I make puppets, I wear drag, I make art and canvas paintings for the background. Frankly, nobody makes videos quite like mine, but the algorithm doesn't like the things I make-

(3) and I know I'm not entitled to success, and the joy I get out of creating art is VERY much its own reward. (not to mention the feedback is usually very positive from those who DO see it), but when I am still getting transphobic hate comments, that joy can be forgotten.-

(4) It's most egregious on the Alex Hirsch video. I delete hate comments consistently, but I also was getting hate messages pretty often before I turned off anonymous asks on tumblr. And considering the video hasn't even broken 20k views and likely never will, it's frustrating.
