Herbie Hancock & The Headhunters - Music Hall, Omaha, Nebraska, November 17, 1975

Let's hear it for Herbie! Just about 50 years ago, Hancock and the Headhunters were touring behind the classic Man-Child, which would turn out to be their last LP together. The end of a very funky era — an era that had taken Herbie from the outer edges of the avant-fusion scene to the dead-center of the jazz-rock mainstream.

On an excellent FM broadcast from Omaha, NE, he's in full freedom flight, playing a bank of state-of-the-art keys and synths with drummer Michael Clarke, bassist Paul Jackson, guitarist Blackbyrd McKnight, percussionist Bill Summers and reedsman Bennie Maupin shadowing his every move. Hang up your hang ups for an hour and get into it.
