i think about this all the time. like he was right but also he is fucking crazy but like also he was right. and he was funny. its cringe to say but the 00 series sincerely changed my perspective as a 17 year old. advice for aspiring assholes is like, real shit if you really listen to what he has to say and you know that you have to still be kind. idk at risk of sounding just as crazy as he is i get you noah hugbox. he was coming from a real sincere place in 2020 and it was abrasive and kind of insane but it was sincere. hes someone who has principles that they stand on about being a real person and being grounded and knowing that you arent any better or worse than anyone else around you and he got thrown into internet fame and the audience that surrounded him could not deal with the fact that they were watching a real guy who sometimes said stuff that made them upset and he saw that and was horrified by the idea that this is the audience he cultivated and that he had surrounded himself with the kind of people that, intentionally and unintentionally, cultivated that kind of audience and he thought that it was maybe one of the worst things he had ever witnessed. noah hugbox lived out a real life gothic horror about being famous on the internet and everyone wonders why he acted like that.
again as risk of sounding equally as crazy i see the tension between being someone who does want to perform and be a character but who also hates the idea of other people viewing him as a character and not seeing the real person behind it, and he doesnt want people to know that real person but he wants people to know that he is there and to engage with his character on the grounds of understanding that it is a character and this is a transaction of entertainment and attention. but there is also the tension of playing that character while also saying what he truly believes but in a characterized way, but then people think that its the character saying that and not him and its all honestly enough to make someone go mad
and thats just the AUDIENCE. dont even get me STARTED on the rest of them. when i say my jaw DROPPED when i saw ryan p on the thumbnail of that coffeezilla video— the whole time i hoped noah hugbox was out there somewhere going "yes... YES...!" he deserves to after everything hes been through
