We all compare ourselves to others, and we shouldn't because they aren't you.

To society a person's waist size matters, but it truly doesn't. Waste size doesn't define you and it's not the definition of beauty.

What a person sees in the mirror may not be what society expects, but it's OK because society is the one who as created this distorted image.

In this photo the boy stands in front of the mirror proudly, but the mirror shows him hiding his face and appearing ashamed. 

A 2010 article about how beauty products and ads could effect a person's self esteem. Consumers always seem to compare themselves to what society finds "ideal."

This graph represents teen girls and women who wish they could change themselves in some way. 

In this cartoon the man feels as though he is so bothersome he is bothering his own diary by writing in it. Many people with low self esteem believe that no one really cares to hear from them because they aren't good enough. That is wrong.

By being yourself, you will attract people who like you for you and won't judge you. No one is like the girls in ads, so no one should try to be.

Social media sets a standard idea of what is beautiful. In this photo, the girl hides her face and displays her body which is written on with harsh words of judgement. 

Dove interviewed both women and girls on how they felt about themselves and these were the results. 6 out of 10 girls stop doing what they love because of how they feel about themselves, and 96% of women believe they are not "beautiful". 

Part of the Dove Campaign is proving to people that they are more beautiful than they think. In this video a sketch artist has women describe themselves, and then a friend who he also sketches. In almost all of the photos, they see themselves as being uglier than what the other person thought of them. 

This image speaks for itself. Society has created and unrealistic image of perfect for young adults to live up to, beginning from when they were young and handing them Barbie. Barbie depicts a skinny, curvy, and busty women as the idol for young girls everywhere. This photo shows that you cannot be like her, no matter what.

Every teen, boy or girl, feels the pressure to be like the models in ads. In this video by Dove they show the behind the scenes of those photos you see on billboards - from the amount of makeup piled on to the editing of the photos. This video shows that no one is like the models in ads, not even the models themselves.
