It takes two months after breaking up with him for you to let the girls convince you to go out. Two months of far too much ice cream, two months of crying yourself to sleep in a bed that feels far too big, two months of begging and pleading and praying that it wasn’t really over.

You tell yourself that it doesn’t have to mean anything, even as Stella does her worst - fuck me red lipstick, winged eyeliner, some sparkly shit on your lids and lips. Even as Gem picks out a dress that’ll “show off your best assets” with an emphasis on the ass. Even as Cora encourages you to down three tequila shots in quick succession as the other two order an uber.

There’s a chill in the air and licking its way down your spine as you stand outside some club downtown. It’s a familiar one, a place you’d spent more than your fair share of nights at, after wins and loses alike, tucked in the corner booth under Brock’s arm. On those nights, you didn’t have to stand outside, you muse bitterly. Add it to the list of things that weren’t the same since you’d let him slip through your fingers.

Summary: You’ve always been a bit blind to how Kevin really feels about you, always one to take his words in line with the teasing he usually offers but over time, the reality of his true feelings coupled with your own soon come to a head. Relationships aren’t easy, not friendships and not the move to more but Kevin’s always been willing to prove to you that he’s worth it and you’re just about ready to open yourself up to that truth too.

It’s usually chaos at Nolan and Kevin’s apartment. It’s an odd mix of a frat house and a library and unless you’re there as often as you are, that’s a difficult statement to wrap your head around.

Sometimes it’s honestly uncontrolled, unbridled energy running through that place whether it be the girls or the parties or the girls at the parties and sometimes the boys are yelling at the TV playing video games with their headsets on and the curses flying from their lips.

Sometimes it’s quiet as a mouse in there though, maybe when Nolan isn’t feeling his best or when the boys are simply just tired and jet legged and needing a sense of calm and normalcy in their lives to make the rest of the craziness balance out.
