There are the unglamourous parts of kids.
Imagine him being handed a baby and holding it, just for it to get bad diaper blow out while hes holding it.
Or him watching a toddler and everything is fine, he looks away for a second and the kids gone and vomited up everywhere and on itself. And just looking at connor like π«ͺπ«ͺ
Or him holding a baby on his shoulder while it sleeps, and everything feels fine and calm. And now there is suddenly milk/formula dripping down his back and shoulder.
I think he would handle everything like a champ. On the outside he is like π, but on the inside hes horribly confused on how things went south so quickly (how could he miss any signs?)
Imagine any of the scenarios happening above and him being laughed at amd teased after by his partner while they clean up
See, the thing about Connor is that he's cool as a cucumber in situations he's prepared for. Especially situations he's programmed for. Things like this? Things he's not programmed for OR prepared for? He's going to struggle.
But he loves baby. He LOVES baby. Doesn't matter whose it is, that's HIS baby now. However, the spontaneous changes, especially the vomit, are going to make him icky. Sensory overload IMMEDIATELY. He's calmly handing the baby to whoever is around and burning his clothes. Nothing personal, he's not even that upset, but he's never going to be able to wear that shirt again without associating it with vomit. He can handle pretty much anything, but that's where he draws the line.
The very first time it happens, he jerks back, holding the baby away from him as spit up dribbles down their lips, muttering a quiet 'help' until someone comes and takes baby away.
The thing that bothers him the most? Baby crying. Especially that spontaneous cry that has no identifiable origin. Baby shouldn't be crying. Why is baby crying? He's a detective. He must find the answer. Are they tired? Hungry? Do you need to go back to your mother? What's the matter?
He would get his feelings hurt a little if they were to cry after being handed to him. He won't admit it, but he desperately wants to be baby's favorite person.
Yes, the first times are going to be rough, and he may have to just step away and recollect himself, but when it comes down to it he is there no questions asked. Connor is an android that requires a lot of stimulus to be satisfied, and children of any age provide a lot of stimulus. So he goes into that task-driven mindset very quickly. He enjoys all parts of children, glamorous and unglamorous. Especially if it's his partner's. He will go to hell and back for his family. That's a promise.
