There were several teams that were neck and neck this year and it was an absurdly difficult call, but in the end, we were smitten with Badwolf, their creativity, antics and enthusiasm. Congratulations! I sincerely hope you do not prove to be sociopaths. For the other teams that were so close, we are going to award a Gishwheshean Honorable Mention this year. We will be sending something "Gishwhes Official" to each member of the runner up teams: Widdermacker, (Sc)Avengers, Subtext, ROBOTHEAD, QuicklyHuge, Babysharks, VaticanCameos, fandom-orgy, SuperWhoLockers, and 270WinchesterLoveswishbone.

Congrats to Team Badwolf, if you beat out so many great teams you surely must have deserved it. Wish you the best of times in Scotland!

And congrats to us, Team Robothead, for working as hard as we did. I'm glad that you were the special people I got to share this experience with. And thank you to absolutely everyone who has supported us and cheered us on for months and months.

I'm sure most of you, or at least us on Team Robothead, know Brittany had a pretty rough night last night. I was collecting notes of encouragement for her all night, and around 5am, Iulia was a complete angel and stopped working on her painting for school and asked me if there was anything she could do to help. I said actually, yes, I think a drawing of Mika in a cucumber kilt dancing with Taco Jan would cheer her significantly. So here you are.

I know Team Robothead has talked a lot about wanting to win GISHWHES, but I think I speak for all of us when I say I think our true victory as a team is being able to get Brittany out of her bad situation and into a safe, happy home. Brittany, know that we all love you dearly and we wouldn't trade you for the world. You're stuck on our team for life.
