“This is Jeremiah. Jeremiah wore safety goggles while angle grinding. Jeremiah still has his right eye. Be like Jeremiah.”

I feel like I need this specifically on my doll blog to remind myself to wear my safety goggles when doing heavy doll modding.

Fellow females of FIRST-
Sexism exists- that’s the sad truth.
And I’m curious, have you ever experienced sexism on your FRC team? I’m mostly curious, and I also want to prove a point to the people on my team who think sexism doesn’t exist on ours (which it does).
Reblog this post and add a comment or drop me an ask!
It is literally the worst when there is sexism on your team. I’ve had to deal with this fairly often this year and it is not ok or appropriate. Some guys just can’t seem to wrap their heads around the fact that girls can do everything they can do. Frankly they just need to grow up and get over the fact that they have to work with girls. It’s 2016! It would also be great if they could learn the meaning of the word no. If I say I won’t date you then you need to accept that and move on.
I haven’t experienced sexism on my robotics team and I hope I never do. I have hope that the boys on my team won’t show sexism towards me and my two other girl team members.
I’m not a woman but I was on robotics for 4 years and most teams I met were all very nice people all getting along. But that was up front. I know on my team. The men wanted to do all the hard work while the women sewed our flags. And I and a few others were the only ones who stood up. On other teams they treat women as if they were invalid. I have seen sexism in frc. BREAK IT.

Guys pro tip- just put a GoPro on a 25ft pole and connect it to two TV monitors to get visibility of the field
Wish us luck at the Central Valley Regional this weekend!!
This spiritually resonates with our team.
In technology, it's not about "getting women to join," it's about creating a safe and supportive environment in which women want to join.

"I started on coding and was one of three girls on the 25 person subteam. It was made clear to me by the boys that my learning of code was less important than the boys learning. I had to change to business because of the fact that by the time build season came around, I had no knowledge of coding. Thanks for proving this point, keep up the good work." -anonymous
"when I was in robotics our mentor only put me on the drive team to look better, they thought boys were better tho and made it really clear. Girls only teams got the MOST SHIT at competitions and I was always never allowed to lift things cause i might've bruised my girly little hands even though Im a weight lifter? Lol there was a lot and it was pretty gross? I wish I was more aggressive tbh." -anonymous
