I'm a massive nerd and I am well aware of that, buttttt, one of my friends gave me lego mindstorms for my birthday (amazing gift) and so me and my girlfriend have decided that next week when the FLL (first lego league aka lego robotics meant for middle schoolers) game drops we're gonna try and do it ourselves kinda like FRC robot in 3 days
So y’know how I said I was proud of my FRC team last weekend, well somehow this weekend I am 100x PROUDER of this team
Holy shit things are going incredible, like we haven’t been this good in 8+ years incredible like in between our matches nothing was broken and so we had EVERYBODY take a snack break and then we still had 30min to kill
We’ve got one day of comp left and my best friend of 8 years is coming and I’m just so excited and on cloud 9 rn I love my team I love my friends my voice is dead I should go to bed
I AM AM FUCKING PROUD OF MY ROBOTICS TEAM WE LITERALLY DIDN’T HAVE A ROBOT 2 WEEKS AGO AND WE TURNED IT ON FOR THE FIRST TIME A WEEK AGO AND WE DID INCREDIBLE AT OUR COMPETITION THE PAST FEW DAYS
I poured so much into making this goddamn robot work (coraline my beloved she is my everything) from spending over a month working on cam and machining our drivetrain to do the majority of assembly in one day to spending the past week in the shops every spare second I had (my friends did not see me what so ever I got to school early early a couple times and I skipped lunch and went to the shop the moment class let out) I’m just so glad this weekend went well
We made playoffs and were second pick by the 7th seed alliance (6/24 teams were picked AFTER us) and we were SO CLOSE to being picked by THE WINNING ALLIANCE which would have been absolutely incredible. We also won the industrial design award for all of our 3D printed parts and our custom swerve drivetrain (the thing I spent like a month machining).
