Goal for 2017

The Best 10 Days of the Year:

The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, the greatest days of the entire year! The Prophet (pbuh) said: “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” (Bukhari)

These blessed days of Dhul Hijjah signify the start of the most sacred pilgrimage of all Hajj. Deeds are rewarded more abundantly during these blessed days. Prayer, seeking forgiveness, fasting and charity hold much more weight and contain tremendous reward. 

Over the coming days, 3 million people from across the world will be arriving into the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.

Worshipping one God, performing the same ancient rituals as our ancestors, wearing the same clothes, Hajj is a time like no other. Much of Hajj recognises the sacrifice and dedication of Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh). During these blessed days, we commemorate his sacrifice and we are being asked to continue his legacy. 

“Read in the name of your Lord who created - Created man from a clinging substance. Read, and your Lord is the most Generous - who taught by the pen - Taught man that which he knew not.”

- Quran 96: 1-5

What was Prophet Muhammad’s first task as our prophet?  Iqra. To read.

Not having time to read is a sure fire way to remain unproductive, unfulfilled and unhappy.

1) Reading is a time machine

2) Communicating more precisely: Exercise discipline over distractions that fritter away your attention. Enable you to process your thoughts and actions better, given that neurons that fire together, wire together. 

3) Getting the answers you need

To Him belongs the greatest example.

He takes away things in the world so we can focus on our ultimate goal; the people we love, they sometimes change, because Allah knows the real joy is in loving Him more! The friends we depend on, they eventually leave, because Allah wants us to ask Him and depend on Him alone. 

This life is not real; its only a means to a beautiful destination! He takes things away to redirect us to the path leading to Paradise. 

Yes, it hurts, and we might whine about it till we’re blue in the face, but without suffering, we will never learn from our mistakes! Allah does not gain anything either way! He does it for our own good because He loves us more than words can say...
