Stay. I know it’s probably the wrong thing to do. You and I have gone dark. We are dead in the water. And all we seem to do anymore is dream up new ways to hurt each other. Look, I’m under no illusions. I know this is the end of the line for us. The damage has been done. We have fallen too far. But for a few more moments, do you think we could just forget all that? Do you think we could dim the lights a little and just lay here together? We have the rest of our lives to go our separate ways, misplace each other’s names, and become strangers again. Stay here for tonight. Let’s be messy and careless.
