humanoid alien concept art for my comic; they’re not actual characters but i’ll need a wide variety of aliens to populate the universes the main characters travel through.

The Kren (formerly called The Krunishains) are a race of galactic conquerers whose deeply homogenized society allows them to focus on outward expansion. Kren technology is vast and unimaginably advanced, with notorious “folding cities” and starships the shape of black monoliths able to transverse the wide distances of space. The Kren empire is massive, and actively seeks to bring more planets into its grasp.

Arrow-head

The Arrow-head is an animal-like organism indigenous to an isolated island, located in the equatorial regions of the planet Eden, the same island from which Eden’s Roses come. Altough this organism strongly resembles an Earth’s lizard, it does not present enough similar physiological characteristics (such as scales, “cold-blood”, oviparity or ammonious wastes).

The organism is a primary-consumer, feeding on the Slimegrasses on the soil. For such task, it has a mandible-lowering mechanism - as oposed to the “mouth-opening” one of other animal-like creatures -, capable of taking its food from the ground directly to its mouth without the need of focusing sight on the food. Its abillity to detect food without directly looking at it comes from special odor-senstive cells on the bottom of its head, capable of recognizing the smell of the “algae”.

The name “Arrow-head”, as opposed to what it suggests, does not mean that the arrow-shaped head is an unique characteristic. Field biologists have named it like this as a way to express its genetic proximity to the common ancestor of all the Sagitta family, to which also belong the Root-digger, the Rose-licker and the Arrow-hunter (all of the island’s “complex animals“).

Being in the “complex animal” category, the Arrow-head has various complex systems* dedicated to a wide variety of physical functions. Some that outstand themselves are the Biodigestive System and the Reproductory System. The first one because of its abillity to extract all of the needed water from the Slimegrasses only - which is proves useful, as the organism would have some problems in effectively drinking water from ponds -; as for the Reproductory System, it outstands because of the way the reproduction happens in these organisms: one of them lies on its back, while the other “connects” its organ to the other’s and at the end, both are pregnant and will give birth to two or three descendants.

It’s been literal years, but I think I finally have a design for these creatures that I really, actually like. Meet Swooce, a herder from another world geared up for a long day in the desert!

Though a bit birdlike in superficial proportions, her actual knees bend backwards, while the meaty “tail” is an abdomen morel like that of an insect. Her second pair of limbs double as an extra set of legs or a strong set of arms, while her true arms are small and dainty but much more dexterous and sensitive. She breathes and speaks through the two nostrils on the side of her head, which to humans sounds like a rapid chorus of whoops, pops, and whistles.

Archers in a war and other tools for battle, they dont throw those spear-sword things they just swing it.
