how does he react to criticism?
Very well. In fact, he's more than adept at welcoming criticism in all forms, and manipulating the objective to make said bringer of criticism feel as though he's taken it all on board, without ever really doing so.
What does he feel about Yvonne at this stage, if anything? Has it changed at all from the period of time when she was in his life?
This is a complicated thing to explain because I haven't had much of a chance to show Theo and the way he thinks. Short answer - he feels nothing, and unfortunately, has never felt anything strongly enough to change the trajectory of their relationship. Long answer - Theo is a functioning psychopath. Yvonne and everything that she stands for has always been something of a "save it for a rainy day," failsafe. Obviously, his main goal in life - beyond his legal firm and business etc, is revenge and retribution against Johnathan Pasrons for what he did to his friends in Porto Velho. Initially, she was a string that he intended to pull on to begin pulling apart the web woven around John. Admittedly, there were feelings there. Onlookers would have raved about the way he once looked at her, but in the end, his interest in ruining John was more than enough for feelings to be overlooked. If anything, they were more of a footnote in the grand scheme of Theo's life. If given the chance to bring John to his knees, he'd put a bullet between her eyes, no questions asked. The feelings still exist, they're not dormant. They remain as somewhat a screen between him and his goal - it skews his vision slightly, but not enough to blind him.

"I'm waiting for Óscar." It was honest, but as much detail as she was willing to given considering someone from his faction had put out a hit on her. "Unfortunately I did. Was that the French? I still remember pretty vividly what happened at last year's party." She almost pulled her shoulder out of his grasp, but the throng of passer-bys didn't leave her the room.
It didn't go unnoticed, the way in which Yvonne sought to pull away from him. It pulled at the crease between his brows. Clearly, he was due to make some effort in sinking his claws in again, "You can't wait, I need to get you out of here." It's spoken softly, immitating the tug of heartstrings. Though, what her next question asks offers a very real pause of concern, "No..-" he shakes his head, "It wasn't us," which meant he had no idea what was going on, and that was dangerous.

Status: open to the French @mobscene-starters
Frustrations rising, Theo, among many of the others likely knew that standing around arguing about how they were going get Lis back was doing nobody any good. Especially not Lisette. And yet contending with Russian's with the intent to do harm was a task in and of itself, "Tell me again why we're still here?" And not out, doing everything they could to get her back.

Though the friendship between the two had never really been mended, if there was one thing they could come together on, it was Lisette and her safety. Understandably, Theo knew that the lives they lived always ran the risk of coming to a cataclysmic halt; it was still always a shock when something tore through the ranks of the french the way it constantly seemed to. "Any news on your end?" He asked, his voice clipped as he settled hands upon the desk that overlooked the city - the greater view from the office of his law firm still looked somehow duller than usual. All grey concrete and skies. "I've had nothing from the blues," the men and women holding badges of legal authority while simultaneously sitting happily upon his payroll. "No Russian movement despite this bullshit.

"I didn't know there was a certain way I'm supposed to feel?"
"That was an iota of concern you missed there, Elaina." Theo says rather bluntly, though not enough to be brash, "Feel however you've gotta feel, none of us would blame you either way but between you and me, maybe don't bite the next guys head off for asking, it's coming off very defensive."

"Théo? What the hell is going on?" Yvonne still hadn't found Félix or Gideon yet, but the sight of Théo almost gave her some relief. Maybe he had some idea of what the hell was actually happening. These fucking after parties were cursed.
The sound of his name upon her tongue was like nails on a chalkboard for him. The interruption would no doubt be a little inconvenient, but Theo knew he'd always be in this for the long haul. Features soften as he turns to find her, a comforting hand finding her shoulder to lead her out of the throng of passers-by, "What're you still doing here?" It's clipped but it sounds sincere, concerned, "Did you see the video?" By this time, most everyone would have, "Nothing good.. Nothing good is happening. That was Konstantin's brother-in-law."

@mobscene-starters
"I do believe the shots should come later. It's not a good look to be falling on your face once they shout out your name."
"Shut the fuck up," Théo laughed somewhere deep in the thick of his chest. One year. One year since she was taken from them; from him. "Take the shot, and quit being a pussy. Neither of our names are being called out on that stage tonight."
@mobscene-starters
"God, people are exceptionally cheery, it seems. I wonder how long it will last."
"Could be longer," Theo muttered, casting a grim look at the her, "If you and yours packed the fuck up and left."
@mobscene-starters
"Oh, I am quite certain this year will be a year to remember." Not only because it's been a year since she had been found hanging somewhere by the water.
"You say that as if the last several years haven't been," perhaps the most recent, the most memorable at all. Despite his tone, almost flippant in nature, Théo's stomach twists painfully at the reminder of what they'd lost. "I wouldn't mind it being a little less memorable, and I'm surprised you're not hoping the same."
The night is young, and he knows it’s only the beginning as he watches her through the thick of the crowd. Theo is certain she hasn’t spotted him just yet - despite the weight of his stare that she undoubtedly feels prickle the back of her neck, spiders legs tickling and leaving a trail of goosebumps into the thick of her hair. There’s a sheen of sweat that has the lights glistening in a scintillation of color in the curve of her collarbones, and he wonders if her friends know she’ll defect from the dancefloor for a drink soon enough.
Fingers click away at the keypad of his phone screen, watching as photographs of her and her friends, her family, cascade through a timeline of the last six months. She’s somewhat estranged from her siblings, neither choosing the life path the rest had, nor condoning the choices they’ve made. It makes her interesting, but somewhat predictable and he’s counted on it over time. Peering through a lens that might put him within her path, even if she’s never really noticed it before. It’s the seed that matters - a familiar face, or voice, that feels normal and comforting. Like she’s heard it a million times away.
Sitting a few tables away at her favorite restaurant. Dropping off a book to the same library. Their trolleys colliding by accident in the isle of her local store.
He’s pieced it together in the same way all those artists of paintings he never understood in his studies might have. A flicker of light here, depth and texture where it’s least expected, and suddenly he realizes what it’s like to be an artist. To manipulate and alter the perception of another to get the response he wants.
Still, it’s only the beginning, and he isn’t foolish enough to believe that he had what he wanted within arms reach just yet. There’s still too many factors, too many choices she has to make that might derail the plan he’s set with steel in his mind. Contingencies are the greatest failsafe, between Nicolas and Aurelie, he’d come to learn as much at an early age. One didn’t ever plan to lose everyone they considered to be family, and yet it happened - a preparation that Theo had been rather guilty in making for himself well before the time came. It held his heart together when it should have fallen to pieces. Would she know how to do so? Would someone else be there for her, or would she face the world from a lonely window? He knows that one day she’ll wish she’d thought about it more, planned for the day it happened. Then again, he supposes that it’s already too late for her now. Too late, as she orders another vodka soda, extra lime. Too late, as his hand reaches over the bar beside her, asking the bartender to put it on his tab. She doesn’t know it yet, but her whole life is about to change. He intends to make it so. Yvonne Rutherford is about to meet the love of her life. And Johnathan Parsons is going to regret letting him live.
