did you ever think it would come to this?
IT IS IN THAT MOMENT , a fleeting one nonetheless -- that Yae Miko is torn between a scowl and a smile so condescending. Arms remain folded along her chest, her gaze daring to pierce right through him. There are a thousand words that could be said ; resentment pity, bitterness, and perhaps deep down ( and never to surface her lips ) a yearning for things to have been different.
Not quite wise enough yet, faced with too many hardships and pining for some kind of positivity after all the horrors that befell Inazuma. Blind faith in her god, a weariness that never quite surfaced : the creation of her first puppet, the kunikuzushi. He too, who was abandoned by their god.
Miko allows herself to sigh, one of her ears twitching. " Us at odds? " She quips, her head tilting ever slightly to the side. " Dear me, I've never considered the concept. "
A frown happens before she can help herself, facial features churning before Miko grips tighter onto her arms. The kitsune refuses to allow herself to draw upon the what ifs : because what would their lives be, had fate taken a different course? Would they be here now, ready to deal blows?
" It's quite alright, dear Kuni, you can say you miss me. " A short silence follows, lips curving and a mischievous glint glimmering before: " though, the feeling is not mutual. "
