The Power Fantasy Issue NAHT!
I couldâve sworn this is what The Queen was going to look like when she debuted , but once again Monsieur Wijngaard, out paced my expectations . I guess I expect her pre-reveal âIâm-actually-here-to-destroy-you-all-đ¤â form to look something like this, if she even has one.
Read âthe Power Famtasyâ by Kieron Gillen and Caspar Wijngaard. issue 6 out on February 19th.
Volume 1 hits stores the end of January .

That's what I call "precogniscience"!
CASPAR SAID THERE WERE SIMILARITIES !!!!
So Iâve always been the High fantasy type, I grew up on anime and comic books so limited magic systems just arenât fun to me . And honestly if you remove the parts about dragons and white walkers ASOIAF it'd just a historical novel about medical Europe .Â
So I came up with a magical ecosystem that works well with the series preestablished lore cuz of course.Â
In Westeros due to the natural abundance of magic, directly related to the Beings who preside over the seven territories of the continent (the Blizzard that Stalks, the Grove with Eyes, the Stormrider, etc.) the magic generally tends to follow a set ruling of elemental magic, favoring women, who call it as âcraftâ and themselves âCraftersâ and animorphic magic, common amongst men, which has not replaced but Expands upon Skinchanging. With men capable of communing, overshadowing, and Transforming into hounds âwargsâ.
While anyone in Westeros can possess the powers it is not unusual for those of high birth to possess it most efficiently.Â

Some people asked me to do a tutorial on drawing rocks, and since I found myself drawing rocks a lot these days, I thought I would share some things that I do.
Note: I am not a professional artist nor have I received much professional instruction. I am self-learned and thus prone to error. If you see anything wrong with the above contents, feel free to point it out, and generally, take this whole thing with a grain of salt. You donât have to draw rocks this way.
And since this is my first time making a tutorial, feedback on readability/helpfulness would also be welcome, so that I can have a better idea of what to do in case I make another one.
My opinion about Burne Hogarthâs âDynamic figure drawingâ
Some sketches and notes.
If you are artist that wants to learn anatomy or beginner artist and you are confused which resources to use to learn human figure you might find post helpful.Â
This is my take on the book and I want to share some thoughts after reading the book and practicing the topics. There are good things and thing I didnât like and wouldnât recommend. Just to give you answer to the question if I liked the book. Yes I liked it. But I want to give you honest opinion on good and not so good things so you as a student or always learning artist can decide if you want to use this book to learn. Letâs start with things I liked. Itâs a book that covers unique topic: drawing figure in deep space and drawing without reference. I also liked that it doesnât represent academic approach. Author rather helps people who had academic background and still have problems with drawing figure that isnât standing straight like soldier. This book can help you fight stiffness in poses and helps generate ideas for dynamic poses. It teaches you how to draw figure in deep space, meaning : helps you create illusion of depth. Approach to drawing human body is also interesting. Hogarth recommend starting from torso and then adds secondary forms : limbs. This books helps you understand body curves so you donât need to know anatomy. Actually this is something I like and at the same time I am not sure about. Itâs good to know anatomy first before you get into this book. I would say that perfect audience for this book is student who has academic background but can only draw people standing straight like soldiers. Hogarthâs books will help you to invent interesting forms and positions. Although you canât take his anatomy literally. He has very characteristic style, that isnât realistic but is believable. âDynamic figure drawingâ many covers male body and thereâs very little about female body. Itâs because female body just doesnât look good. Itâs like femaleâs version of male bodies. Doesnât look very organic and remind me of ancient greek statues. Just to give you example : breasts looks like they are balls attached to the chest. Definitely look for some other source about female body. Overall you can find some great tips and topics that are not covered in other books. This book is for already experienced artists who wish to learn techniques that will expand their academic knowledge. For anatomy look at Bridgman and Loomis đ I tried to keep this review as short as I could. Let me know how do you like these kind of reviews and if you would like to see more post like this one in the future.
