Jabir reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The parable of the believer is that of a planted stalk. It stays rigid in one moment and bends down in another moment. The parable of the unbeliever is that of a cedar tree. It continues to stay rigid until it falls down without realizing it.”

Certainly will the believers have succeeded: They who are during their prayer humbly submissive

And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive sins except Allah ? - and [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know.

Abdullah ibn Umar reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The parable of the believer is that of a palm tree. Whatever you take from it will benefit you.”

And whoever is patient and forgives - indeed, that is of the matters [requiring] determination.

Abu Dharr reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Refrain from harming people, for it is your charity due upon yourself.”

And do not be like those who are oblivious of Allah and so Allah has made them oblivious of their own selves. Those, they are the transgressors.

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “If you hear your neighbors saying you have been good, then you have been good. If you hear them saying you have been evil, then you have been evil.”
