Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?

anything that has you leaving him or even turning to other people, he’s not doing. Absolutely not, never in the realm of possibility. Other than that, you’ve got him wrapped around your finger and willing to please you, just so you will view him as the only person you will ever need

Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?

not at first, as he wants to be the strong, gallant lord for you. however, after a few months where your relationship is more stable in a sense, he will start to bare a little bit of his heart to you day by day

Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?

very displeased. in his eyes, you are his spouse-to-be and therefore has no business fighting him. you’re to be married, why are you attacking your future husband? he’ll teach you a lesson on what fighting back will entail, reminding you that he is your betrothed and you are to obey and submit him

Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?

it’s only a game to him when you’re largely unsuccessful in your escape attempts, and he’ll gently mock and sometimes degrade you for even trying to go. but if you’re smart about it and NEARLY get out of his clutches, he will be absolutely furious, punishing you by reading scripture of how “a wife should always obey her husband and stay by his side” over and over while putting you on what is basically lockdown in your chambers

Hell: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?

his punishments. which is just being forced to recite scripture and being isolated from everyone except for him for weeks

Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?

just the basic happy husband and wife life, with numerous children with your shared features. he envisions this everyday, dreams of having the perfect, pious family who worships the Seven

Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?

he definitely gets jealous, but there isn’t any outbursts, not in public. When he sees a man flirting with you, his jaw tightens and he goes over there, introducing himself to the other man. his hand grips your arm a little too tightly, that it leaves faint bruises that he’ll kiss later out of a bit of guilt for hurting you.

if the man doesn’t leave you alone at all, Ormund isn’t sad to hear about his accident of falling down the stairs several days later.

he doesn’t cope with being jealous at all, no matter how much you reassure him of his place as your husband

Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?

very, very soft around you, and honest. he will shower you with love and affection, needing your touch on him after a long day as a an important lord.

Love letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?

at the first meeting, he’ll go up to you and introduce himself smoothly, kissing your hand. putting himself as the picture perfect gentleman, a handsome and rich lord just trying to court you. after that, he will study where you go, but will use informants to track you when he’s busy. he further tries to cement himself in your routine, showing up where you usually go to just talk with you, and eventually asks if he has permission to court you.

if you say yes, he lights up with excitement and satisfaction. the next few months, he’ll make sure to bring you on a walk in some gardens, or give you an expensive gift he commissioned for you.

if you say no, he’ll try again, maybe with some carefully chosen flowers you like. when he tries and fails repeatedly, he just abducts you

Mask: Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?

very different. in the public eye of the nobility, he is a wealthy lord with a good reputation, known for being proud and very cutting. not a lord you’d want to mess with. but with you, he’s a clingy, just watching you do your thing around the castle, holding your hand and never letting you leave his sight. his words are softer

Naughty: How would they punish their darling?

a good spanking doesn’t hurt, especially when he’s in the mood. but when he is genuinely angry, he will shout, yell, and force you to read scripture while locking you in your shared chambers with just him for an extended period of time

Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling?

all that includes you leaving, in any way. you can pick and choose for many things in your life with him, he won’t judge or disapprove. he will not stand you leaving his sight. even when there is war, he will bring you with him and put you in a safe place, but he refuses to be parted with you for a very long time

Patience: How patient are they with their darling?

surprisingly very patient. he knows the values of just waiting until it’s time, and doesn’t rush until it grates too much on his nerves

Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?

His ass is never moving on.

You died—he is distraught, feels like his life has no meaning and blames himself for not doing more, no matter if he couldn’t have stopped it anyway. If you had children together when you died, all of his focus will be on them, making sure that they’re safe and happy, and that they will never forget what you were like. they’re the last pieces he had of you, and he’ll cherish them until his last breath. However if you do not have children, there really isn’t anything tethering him to sanity and he goes insane just trying to bring you back somehow, praying so hard to the Seven, finding people across the Narrow Sea, etc.

You left successfully—he’d go mad trying to find you, tearing the Seven kingdoms apart with his desperation and hiring people to try and find you. It would literally be in the history books about Westeros of “Ormund Hightower and his frantic search for his true love”

Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?

No. If he was a little rough when abducting you, he’ll feel a little guilt for causing you harm, but that’s it.

Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?

he grew up as every lordling did is Westeros, and his parents were normal, so it was just his personality

Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?

he’d feel terrible and try to stop it if you’re screaming and crying. however, if you’re just isolating yourself, he is furious that you’re choosing to do this and ignoring him

Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?

shockingly, he’s not one to be very violent to other people approaching you or trying to woo you in public. he understands how enthralling you are to others, and doesn’t want to get his reputation stained by acting like the Rogue Prince, for one. In private places where no one can see, he lets loose

Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?

praying in the Sept where you can just slip away quickly or asking him to bring you somewhere under the guise of “spending more time together” only for you to escape

Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling?

even at his most furious, no. not badly, at the least, just a few bruises from gripping you too tightly or rom rough jostling. he feels that he’s supposed to be the man here, which consists of protecting his spouse from getting hurt, even from him

Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?

he treats you like a goddess, and never fails to worship your altar everyday. in every conversation, your name is mentioned, in every room, his eyes find you. when he is holding court down at Old Town, he has a specially chair built beside him when he is taking petitions. he asks for your opinions sometimes, and follows through if you suggest one. the kitchen’s food is completely changed to fit your tastes, and you want for nothing. and as for winning you over, he would do anything gladly to even have a shred of your attention

Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?

he’s very direct in a way when being obsessed with you, he feels he must woo you immediately so he wouldn’t have to waste precious time that he isn’t with you. He will court you for only a few months maximum to give you enough time to be familiar with him, then he proposes marriage. Whether you agree to it or not after that doesn’t matter, you’ll still be wedded at the Sept either way, he’ll just propose to properly announce his intentions

Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?

it depends on what personality you have. if you’re are already a devout worshipper of the Seven, is a gentle and agreeable person, he has no problem with it. if you’re a more fiery person, stands up for your beliefs he will definitely try and instill his religious views onto you. he won’t be very furious if you don’t believe still, but very disappointed and disapproving

Traitorously, his eyes would trail down to whatever gown she was wearing that day, down to the deep, plunging neckline in between the valley of her breasts and see the soft skin there before dragging his eyes away before she noticed. Through the slit of her dress he can see her long legs as she walked, eyes moving up to her thighs. Ormund cursed himself for being lured into temptation, feeling his pants get tighter and being relived that his doublet hid the bulge.

As if seeing her around everywhere isn’t enough, she starts appearing in his dreams. It starts off innocently enough, a familiar moment where talking to him as usual in her low, entrancing voice, but the dreams quickly change. It grows filthy and depraved, leaving him waking up grounding his hips into his bed, groaning and remembering the phantom feeling of her skin on his hands. Hard and leaking, Ormund wraps his hand around his throbbing length, and spills all over himself with a few strokes only from recalling the sounds she made in his dreams.

Panting hard, he feels shame for the sheer amount of lust he has, but rationalises. It’s not his fault for having eyes, it’s her fault for wearing such clothes around him, for having such a sweet, recognisable scent that he gets restless as soon as he smells it. It’s all her fault for bewitching him. Ormund is only a man, he cannot be blamed.

For the time he was in the city, she was often with her sister, who barely spared his family a glance. Or she was atop her beast of a dragon, dressed in riding leathers that accentuated her figure and made his cock ache. Other times, she was at the Sept. He had been lighting a candle to the Father for strength when he catches a familiar scent, of herbs and incense. Her.

“Lord Ormund.” Gods, her voice. Whenever she spoke, it seemed to settle in his bones, in his soul. He wanted to wrap her around himself so no one would know where he ended and she started.

“Princess.” Ormund greeted, ducking his head to pull his gaze away from her dress. Her eyes glittered in the low light of the Sept, the hue of the candles caressing her skin. Her waist length silvery blond hair was loose, and she looked softer. She was still dressed in a borderline scandalous dress as usual. One firm tug and he could rip it right off, he thought,

“Were you praying to the Father, if I may ask?” She tilted her head curiously, a soft smile on her face as she approached.

“I was. For strength.” She smelled divine, and he was frozen in place, watching as she stepped in front of him, and Ormund was sure she looked just like the Valyrian ladies of old, regal and breathtaking. He fought the urge to lean in and take a deep whiff of her unique scent, clenching his fist to distract himself.

At his words, she just smiled in gentle amusement, laying a hand on his arm and leaning close. His heart stuttered as his nose flared.“Strength? A man such as you has enough strength to me, my Lord. I do not think the Father could grant you more.”

Too fast, too soon, she pulled away with a last smile, walking to light a candle for the Maiden while he watched dumbly from where he was still standing. Seeing her kneel to pray, Ormund recalled a moment in his dreams where she was in the same position doing something completely different, and cursed to himself for thinking such undignified things in a holy place such as the Sept.

That night, all he could think about was her. She plagued him every day, and after their moment at the Sept, her touch, her calling him “strong” had him pacing. He didn’t sleep much that night.

Author’s note: I don’t think I can write romance even if my life was on the line, so it’s just this 😭 I’m absolutely struggling to think how they’d finally sleep together tbh…

First thing Grace did when he got back to his house was search up Grogu’s species on the Holonet (he’d been ecstatic to find out that there was a galaxy wide internet and had lost himself for a few days, needing Rocky to drag him out of the house.)

Unfortunately, there was absolutely nothing about Grogu’s species, nothing he needed to note or watch out for. Just a few referrals to other species that were similar looking. All he knew from what Mando had told him was that Grogu was mainly carnivorous, but could also eat many usual snacks if you didn’t stop him.

Recalling the fond, exasperated tone Mando had when he said that, his head tilted down towards where his son was, Grace couldn’t help but smile at the obvious love the pair had for each other.

On his biweekly walk with Adrian, who he’d gotten to know very well, Grace mentioned Mando offhandedly, surprised when Adrian asked for a further description. Once he mentioned the helmet with the T-shaped visor, Adrian said “Mando” was a Mandalorian, who were fierce, undefeatable warriors until their planet got orbitally bombarded by the Empire.

Now, the sighting of a Mandalorian in the galaxy was extremely rare, but Adrian knew there had been a small group of Mandalorians living in Erid’s spaceport. He remembered reading about the Empire and what atrocities they’d done on the Holonet, relieved that he’d come to Erid after the Emperor had been killed.

At that, Grace realised he didn’t even know Mando’s true name, as it was obviously just a short form of the word Mandalorian. He felt a little foolish, falling for a man with no name or a face Grace knew of and could even be another species. Humans made up a large part of the galaxy, but there was a large chance Mando wasn’t human, just humanoid.

Adrian sensed his mood, of course. He was much better attuned to it than Rocky, he found. “Why Grace feel down, question?”

“Uh, nothing to be worried about…just realised I don’t even know Mando’s name, but I’m teaching his son.”

Adrian’s carapace tilted up a little to Grace. “The Mandalorians on this planet are secretive. They don’t remove their helmets, or say their true name. Not like other Mandalorians.”

“There are different types?” Grace asked curiously, his mind wandering.

Adrian poked his shin. “Don’t go away for three days on computer, you are coming to movie night tonight.”

“Ow! Yeah, yeah pal of course I wouldn’t miss it.”

Alrighty, this is set when Grace is already an established teacher on Erid, ofc. A few years after Rocky and the crew leave for Tau Ceti, the pre-Clone Wars SW universe discovers Erid (gonna say it’s on the edges of unknown space and that’s why it took so long to discover Erid) and so a spaceport is made and trade happens. Information about both parties are transferred, the Eridians gain new knowledge about technology and a whole lot more information about different species (so when Grace and Rocky return, they build Grace’s biodome faster and quickly have food and the right medical care to help him).

The spaceport Erid has is a large biodome that can support most species in the SW universe. It’s a bustling spaceport, with many people choosing to live there (ones that can handle the gravitational difference). Eridians have developed xenonite suits that allow for more moment so Eridians can work in their spaceport dome. Unfortunately only Erid’s sun is still dying, the rest of the galaxy doesn’t care, especially the Republic. When Grace & Rocky, they’re still hailed as heroes. Grace recovers from his starvation quicker due to Erid having proper medical care for humans and he makes a full recovery and is doing very well.

Grace becomes a teacher in the spaceport, and so teaches both Eridians students and students from other planets. Ricky is very excited over the new technological advancements that happened while he was gone, though he does feel sad that he wasn’t there when it was happening.

Also, the Empire used to have a somewhat tight hold on Erid due to its xenonite tech, and the Eridians didn’t want to comply to their orders at first, but after hearing new about what happened to Mandalore, they decided to just do what they’re told. Their xenonite suits can withstand tons of blasters, but their planet can definitely not handle orbital bombardment on major cities.

After the class ends, Din approaches Grace, asking is he is able to have Grogu in his class. The kid can’t speak yet, but can understand most things, so Din wants his ad to have a well rounded education while they’re on Erid. Grace is, of course, relieved that this armoured man is not hostile, but a father that wants to take good care of his son, and agrees. Though he’s thinking of a button system Grogu could use to say basic words like “yes” and “no” since he can’t speak properly.

“Oh, and how should I refer to you? What’s your name?” Grace is typing Grogu’s info down on his computer, asking a basic question as he would any parent.

“Call me Mando.” Din, even after what he’s been through, still doesn’t share his name, still hearing the sinister lilt of Gideon’s voice saying it in his head.

Grace, who doesn’t know about Mandalorians yet, still learning about different species in the extended galaxy he’s just found out exists, just nods and smiles. “I’ll look forward to having Grogu in the class, then.”

Din thinks Grace’s eyes are so blue and kind when he smiles, just nods to that and leaves.

During the Pandemic Era

Grace makes YouTube science vids for his students!! They’re fun to watch, Grace’s voice isn’t monotonous but rather cheery as he explains it easily, not using confusing metaphors, but explaining concepts simply then adding on more complex stuff slowly. He also makes funny lil jokes here and there, telling the students which textbook or workbook they can read up more or use as practice. Not everything finds it compatible with how they learn, but that’s okay, he liked knowing that his videos helped people anyway

Some of his students’ older siblings watch them and ask their little siblings if Grace also knows the higher level stuff to make vids for. And he does! Because he teaches the Biology and Chemistry Olympiad in school and he’s got time to make the vids

He posts it on YouTube and tells his students to check it out in case they need extra revision. (Like my own teacher!!) his username is Mr Graceful (a student named him that when he tripped over a thin wire and fell)

Buys a whiteboard to stick onto his wall at home so he can teach properly and draws all his diagrams clearly. You can also see his whiteboard handwriting improve to become neat, but also a little cursive. That’s his little quirk. He notes turn into more of a sketchnoting style to keep the notes fun to read for anyone

Time skip to PHM!! He is now THE expert on astrophage, and so he is present at many conferences where world leaders and other politicians are present. They aren’t scientists and struggle to grasp and remember how astrophage work, so Grace has to explain everything multiple times or answer a whole lot of questions every meeting. Which wastes time and makes Stratt irritated. Furthermore, people online are panicking about the whole “sun is dimming” situation as it’s getting worse VERY quickly. Many people spread misinformation about astrophage and spread fake news, leading to anger and confusion and frustration among the populace

So Grace tries making PowerPoints, simple and easy, for the people to understand. Until he realises he just can’t share a PowerPoint everywhere. So he takes a leaf from his teacher's book and decides to make a video. He’s got experience on that perfectly, with his years of teaching, and so sets up a camera, pulls Yáo and Ilyukhina to the room to help him because they were having a small break and DuBois and Shapiro were busy. Dimitri pulls up in the middle and gives a thumbs up, Leclerc waves and Dr Lamai says hi.

He’s dressed in his funny science shirts, lab coat wrapped around him, looking like he hasn’t slept in two days but has a bright manic light in his eyes as he explains, entirely in his element. He has lab goggles on top of his messy hair and glass sticking out underneath his ear

He begins the vid the same as always. “Hello scholars, today, we’re gonna be learning about Astrophage!! Yes, they’re “eating” the sun, BUT I’m here to explain HOW. In this lesson, I’m gonna go in depth on what Astrophage is, what it does to the sun and the effects of it. I’ll also be explaining more about what Project Hail Mary is for anyone who is curious. If anyone is worried about false information, you don’t have to worry, because I’m actually one of the leading experts in Astrophage. Alrighty, let’s get started! …”

Once they’re all done with the vid he conks out and Yáo brings the vid to Stratt and suggests why they should let him post it on Youtube or smth. He’s seen her headaches while dealing with the officials or people that don’t know what astrophage is or don’t believe in it

He caught her when she’s not having enough sleep either, so she agrees, BUT it has to be posted under NASA’s official account that would also add Grace’s public YouTube account on it. A lot of scientists at NASA watched it before and approved it to be posted. Not many scientists have patience and the skill to teach properly for the general public to understand, so they like it a lot. It’s informative without confusing everyone. They have a person who is good with Pinterest slap cute collage together with Grace’s face taking up half of it and the video is titled “Astrophage EXPLAINED with Dr Grace”. NASA put a comment, “Dr Grace is our leading expert of Astrophage, having first contact with it and naming the organism. Here is how he explains their structure and how they affect the sun”

It gets 100 000 views within the first thirty minutes of being posted. Then five million within six hours. Grace wakes up all normal, gets breakfast shoved at him by Ilyukhina, and talks about the video. They tell him it’s posted, and six million people have seen it.

He spits out his coffee “WHAT? SIX MILLION? it hasn’t been a day?!”

The people love it, of course. They’re getting a crash course of information on the thing that would be Earth’s downfall, and clear knowledge of what it does and what’s gonna happen. It’s also easier to grasp than poring through scattered news articles about Astrophage throughout the months since the Arclight probe came back. They make actual notes about Astrophage like it’s an exam topic

NASA and the Petrova Taskforce see how popular he is and what’s to capitalise on it. Stratt reluctantly hired a PR person sometime ago when the public got too much and they smoothed things over pretty quickly and shared necessary information pertaining to the project so Stratt doesn't have to

The PR person starts to post a whole lot of Ryland after that. Their views shoot through the millions (not like they hadn’t been doing good though) they love Ryland and Astronaut content. They find Yáo hot (which they have been hiding from him) Ilyukhina is popular among the queer community (which she loves, bc she’s a lesbian!!) DuBois is endearing due to his straightforwardness.

Of course, edits are made of all of them. It’s social media. Grace and Ilyukhina are the most popular

It’s not just the PR bringing out Grace, but almost everyone. They bring him to the UN when the project is announced. He’s there for every major turn, every discovery, every meeting and most of the astronaut training sessions

He still gets sent to space, but the world knows him more now. He’s not just a statue with a name plate. But a funny, smart human who learned astrophage and taught the others, who went off to save Earth and succeeded
