during their training days, zoey made a lot of friendship bracelets for rumi and mira, as a show of conviviality, with each one being personalized to whoever she was making them for. she would always shyly hand them off to them with an, “um, here, i made you this.”
rumi would blush and thank her for them. zoey would sometimes see her wearing them during their days off, and it would make her stomach flutter with joy each time. it’s why she keeps making them.
mira, though, was a lot rougher around the edges when her and zoey first met. the first few times zoey gave her a friendship bracelet, she would take it but just stare at it like she was annoyed. afterwards, she would walk away without thanking zoey. for a while, zoey stopped making them for her because she figured mira clearly didn’t like them, especially since she never saw her wearing them like rumi did.
(every time mira watched zoey hand rumi a friendship bracelet during that period, her stomach roiled with jealousy.)
but once her and mira started becoming friendlier, she started making them for her again. mira would quietly thank zoey and smile at her. she didn’t start wearing them until near the end of their training days, however, but even then, mira was hyper aware of her styling and rarely wore them.
once they debuted, zoey had a lot less time to make them these friendship bracelets, but would try to find the time whenever she could. the response got warmer and warmer from both of her teammates with bracelet, especially considering they were all pretty firmly in love with one another at that point.
much later down the line, after they’ve gotten together, huntrix is going to this industry event, and zoey needs another accessory for her outfit. mira suggests that she just go to mira’s room and get some jewelry from her collection.
when zoey opens her massive jewelry box , she sees them.
all of the friendship bracelets she’s ever made mira, even the ones from before they were really friends. they’re stored with all of her ultra expensive jewelry.
mira comes in to check on her progress finding something, and her face turns the color of her hair when she sees what zoey is looking at. she’d somehow forgotten zoey would see them there.
zoey tearfully asks about it. mira, blushing, tells her that of course she kept them all, zoey put in hours of her time and effort into making them for her. and, blushing even harder, she says that of course they’re stored with her expensive jewelry, they’re worth even more to mira than a bunch of gemstones and metal, because they were made by zoey with her in mind.
needless to say, zoey barely leaves mira’s side that night.
(when mira and rumi both wear the very first friendship bracelets zoey made them to their wedding, zoey bursts into tears at the sight of them.)
