“As I was watching [Beyoncé’s videos] I felt very conflicted, I felt her message felt very conflicted in the sense that on the one hand she is putting herself in a category of a feminist, but then the camera, it felt very male, such a male voyeuristic experience of her,” Watson said during a conversation with journalist and actress Tavi Gevinson, as published in a 2014 issue of Wonderland Magazine.
LOL. Beyoncé was being overly sexual…for the male gaze…and Bey couldn’t *possibly* have any self agency, but somehow it’s DIFFERENT when the exact same standards are applied to a white woman, right???
No woman, not Emma Watson, not Beyoncé, no one should be shamed for their body or how they decide to effect their feminism, even if they use their body to do so. But the double standards that allow white bodies to be “non-sexualized statements of art” while black women are reduced to deviant “sexual objects”…the amount of policing always applied to non-white women is amazing. And white feminists™ love to single out successful black women like Beyoncé.
Once more for the people in the back: Please destroy the notion that feminists have to fit into a neat, perfect little box in order to be considered a “good” feminist. Obliterate the idea that not being “respectable” by white societal norms somehow disqualifies women from being “good” feminists
she was taken way ut of context did anyone even read the article at all
hey guys friendly reminder from your fave Canadian that esk*mo is a slur so please don’t use it!
I see it usually in the context of “esk*mo kisses” which may pop up when people talk about their ships and their headcanon, but it means “snow eaters” in cree and is a slur against Inuit people so please just don’t use it!
and I would appreciate if u reblogged this because people outside Canada don’t seem to know this for the most part
I am Canadian and did not know this was a slur so I will 100% stop using that and correct folks who do!
i got carried away

Will’s freudian slip
JACK:
I’m putting it out there that using round wide eyes to implicitly state innocence and purity in a character; and small “slanty” eyes to convey dishonesty and deceit in your antagonist is actually racist lmfao.
I see some of you bring out this concept in you character designs over and over and yeah it’s not a conscious thought process but thinking “this is the evil character who is morally decrepit - how should I really bring that out in their image?” And then linking that immediately to drawing smaller eyes is racist yellow peril derived stereotyping.
I’m sure most of us have been guilty of this at some stage including myself so can we all just grow up and leave this bullshit behind in this year? 谢谢
lmao i see all you racists in the comments btw even if this was only abt how babies have round eyes so OF COURSE it would be used to convey innocence (which - you know? eastern asian babies often dont have round eyes, yet they still SOMEHOW??? just about?? manage to look cute and innocent wow imagine that) THIS SHIT GETS INTERNALIZED like if you grow up seeing slanty eyed villains again and again everywhere while the hero/innocent has the big round eyes every time it can fuck you up, and i mean the whole world is so white ppl centric re: beauty etc. already so things like this only work to further cement in ppls minds how round big eyes = good and small/slanted eyes = bad. BUT you know, if you really wanna contribute to perpetuating these racist ideas so badly it’s whatever. you racist fucks :)
OMG I saw those comments too. Who do they think they’re fooling? Even this ancient evil Asian stock photo baby knows they’re just a bunch of gibbering racists.

in which stiles is an amazing liar
I love this scene for obvious Stiles reasons, but the main reason is for young Derek’s face while he waits for Stiles to answer. It’s the exact face Derek sometimes pulls. It just reminds me that after everything Derek went through, he didn’t lose that part of himself- the part that likes to be a cocky asshole but have FUN with it. But the thing I really love is that it’s always Stiles that gets that real big reaction from him. The one you can see Derek fighting a smile against. That only Stiles has the ability to reach that part of Derek and bring it to life. This is why I ship them. Because as much as they save each other and anchor one another through the hard times, they also bring the fun out in each other.
HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH.
