NUMBER ONE.

So, a good 99% of my ocs are used for Discord roleplays. Unless we're talking about a fandom OC, such as Dwoast, I primarily make ocs for roleplay purposes, and Awaii is one of them! Along with her sister, Laska (who can be found on this post). If I remove all bias ever, Awaii is one of my favorite ocs ever. (If I include bias, then it's Miss Acacius. But only because she's a shameless ripoff of Mister Riffraff.) But Awaii holds a special place in my heart because she is SO fun to play. Whenever I play her, I get to really take a step back and just loosen up a bit. She's so energetic and happy, playing her always seems to boost my mood. Though she was almost... not really a character. When I first came up with her concept, it was through a twitter post I saw where it was just the states in America without their first letter. In which, for some reason, I thought "I want two siblings named Laska and Awaii." (Alaska and Hawaii...). When she was first made, I used her. Once. Within three months of her existence. And there was a high chance I'd NEVER use her again after that..... buuut, one of my friends joined our roleplay server and needed someone to interact with, and since Awaii was one of my characters that wasn't tied down to lore. She got a grand reappearance. And suddenly I had a way to constantly use her!

At that time I was going through like... a slump with roleplaying. I wasn't liking any of my characters, any of the story. I didn't wanna do ANYTHING. But I guess Awaii's personality really shined on me and got me interested in roleplaying again. I didn't feel pressured to go hard on angst or heavy lore, it was just messing around 90% of the time. And when there was a deeper moment needed? It went well, I was satisfied with it.

Not a lot of my character backstories are pre-planned, Awaii is no exception, they are just built along with the story. I don't quite remember how I settled on Awaii and Laska's backstory, but it's a little something like this; Laska is the eldest sister, three years older then Awaii. A little before Awaii was born, their father left. And when Awaii was 4 years old, Laska 7, their mother passed away from illness. They were vaguely in foster care, but due to the complications of it, Laska ran with Awaii to where they'd be homeless for most of their childhood. Around their teen years, Awaii was not at all as nice and happy as she is now. Due to their rough childhood, Awaii was really bitter and upset. And with her sister as the only one around, she lashed out and blamed Laska a lot. Around 16, she'd be mostly out of that whole mindset. Realizing Laska didn't really deserve how she was treating her. And she'd spend years making it up to her and changing herself around. Which is how she got to be her cheerful and loving self, she understands what it's like to be in a tough situation and extends sympathy to a lot of standoffish people. She can easily recognize a person's true intention, she can pick up on a person who might be acting rude or aggressive due to a rough situation, because she went through similar.

And Awaii is basically the main reason her friend group exists. "The Sillies" is what me and my friends call them, and it all started with Awaii offering to buy food for my friends character, Ares. Which had some snowball affect of all trying to find a house, and... meeting a lot of people on their journey. Awaii meeting people such as Vendetta, Germ, Affray... and all of them for some reason looking for MORE roommates, which introduces Elvira and Suzi to the group. Svenhiro eventually being in as replacement to Vendetta. (Vendetta's a guardian angel.... they get cast away out of heaven. Thats a whole OTHER story), but the whole replacement thing didnt stick. (Eventually Vendetta gets cast out from the sillies though. too. LMAO. So it technically did stick at the same time.) ANNDD YADA YADA. WITHOUT AWAII. There would be no friend group, and who knows where the hell everyone would be without the friend group? Ares, who ran from home... if no one was there to offer him a hand. And Germ, working with a kidnapper due to not being able to fit in easily elsewhere... If he was never accepted into a friend group. And, yada yada. Things would be a lot different. Awaii was just a major important pillar in this friend group.

AND I KILLED HER. AND IT WAS FUNNY. She was hit by a five night at freddies bus. lmao. it was really dramatic and yet not really? Because she'd later come back as a deer, and became a deer anthro. That's the entire reason I killed her. And it had a BIGGER snowball affect of VENDETTA LEAVING THE WHOLE GROUP. Because their husband (Ares) died too. AND HE CAME BACK A DAY LATER AS A GHOST. Buuut due to arbitrary rules made up on the spot, Vendetta couldn't see them when they came back. And Germ SWORE to Vendetta that they were there, and Ares tried EVERYTHING to prove it. Vendetta didn't believe Germ, though Germ has NEVER lied to them about anything before. Vendetta has just always hated Germ (cuz they see themselves in Germ??? relate to his situation???), which caused Vendetta to leave a SECOND TIME. AND GHOST ARES DIVORCED THEM. IT was kind of beautiful because THAT lead to the bEAUTIFUL RECHARACTERIZATION OF ARES. After a brief conversation with my friend who made him, where we both agreed that his personality was kinda bad. Since he was basically just a dumb himbo who was good at nothing. (I'm not even trying to be rude, that was literally the canon...), and after this whole arc we had time to re-tune our characters. RN she's kinda in hiatus, since I've slowed down on roleplaying a lot these days. And I think I need to re-tune her character again, after her death she got a bit of amnesia and I think it's making her slip far too much into the "sillyy X3!!!" stuff. So I'll probably refine her a bit. Aaand I really need to get back into her whole relationship arc with some other purple haired girl. Which I'm whatever about rn, I need them to compel me more. I can talk about that relationship another day if people wanna hear it. This is already long

ANYWAYS. At one point I wanted her to be in roller derby but never got into it after I got a bit bitter after a certain rp moment that just left me no longer wanting to do it. But sometimes I still think about it. So here's that conceptualized. AND, fun fact; Before I started drawing Awaii's pfps, I used hatsune miku as her pfp. So she's basically a hatsune miku. And also.
