life was never dull. both of your parents had been renowned warriors of Asgard and as you grew up you began training in the palace. working in the weapon research division, there was no short of training and crafting new weapons for the home your family fought for.Â
the princes would often be found alongside of you, begging to be the first ones to use the newest weapons. although, Loki and you often joked that you spent more time dragging Thor to the infirmary than actually honing anyoneâs skills.Â
before you knew it, you had reached adult hood and watched as your friends changed over the years. you remained close to Loki of course, but his aloofness began to take a toll over his usual countenance.Â
âY/N, you have to go,â Thor practically begged you.Â
flipping the welding mask off your face you gave him a sharp smirk, âyeah, no thanks i think iâll pass this time.âÂ
âwhenâs the last time you drank the night away with your best friends?â Thor pestered you.Â
you threw an exasperated glance in Lokiâs direction, help me!
âThor she said she didnât want to come,â Loki pushed himself off the wall he had been leaning on and strode over to where the looming blonde lurked, âso letâs go.âÂ
Thorâs complaints could be heard down the hallway as he indignantly exited the room where you were working. Loki toyed with a gem that was sitting on the work table, âcome for a little while?â
you wiped off your sweaty face with the back on your arm only to smear dark grease along your jawline. Lokiâs fingers twitched as he almost wiped it off for you but stopped himself out of embarrassment.Â
you shook your head sadly, âyou know how much work i have to get done by the end of the week.âÂ
Loki gave you a pitiful glance and stalked to the door, âyouâll be missed.âÂ
the party had gotten out of control as they usually did, incidentally, Loki had drunk more than his usual amount of alcohol and stumbled into the hallway to cooldown. the open and airy hall was spinning and the stars seem giggle along with the intoxicated prince.Â
âwhat have you done?â a playful voice drifted into Lokiâs thoughts.Â
Loki felt an arm wrap around his waist and he grinned down at your grinning face. He never got this drunk so youâd be sure to let him know in the morning.Â
âwhat are you doing here, Y/N,â Loki managed to slur and finished with a giggle fit.Â
sighing you pulled him over to a bench near a large, opened window, âwell, i was about to go to bed but it seems like i need to get you to yours first.âÂ
the world was spinning, but when he focused his vision on you it didnât seem as violent. you still had that grease stain. lifting a gentle hand, Loki reached out to wipe it away.Â
being caught off guard you flinched at the surprising contact but you reached out a hand to gently grab his wrist. Loki paused what he was doing, slowly he moved his thumb to brush over your lips. his eyes traveled from your eyes down to lips and moved closer.
what am i doing? he wondered, am i allowed to feel like this?Â
âLoki?â his named came out in a still whisper.Â
a gentle pressure landed on your lips and you melted into the sensation. any question and hesitation faded from your mind as he held your face gently in his hands. your hand had still not left his arm and you held on tighter as he kissed you deeper.Â
with the rising sun, you awoke the next morning and looked over at Loki. at first, you thought you should at least feel shame or embarrassment, but you didnât. if anything, you only wished that it could be like this every morning. you knew he had been drunk last night so he probably would not be feeling well when he woke up.
slipping out of the warm, satin sheets, you quickly threw on your clothes and hurried out the door. when Loki awoke, he found himself with nausea and hazy memories of the night before. for some odd reason, he felt as if he had just missed something exciting that had just happened. planting his face in an extra pillow he groaned and closed his eyes.
am i crazy? why does this pillow smell like her? why does everything come back to her?
the next time you ran into Loki it was clear he did not remember what had happened that night. when that realization hit you, it felt as if your chest would explode. whether or not you were sad, disappointed or angry you couldnât tell. part of you wanted nothing more than to be with him again while the other part of your heart wanted to distance yourself completely from the man who mad you feel this. you chose the latter.
a few weeks later you often found yourself at the infirmary as woke up feeling terrible most mornings. it had never occurred to you of any other repercussions of sleeping with Loki, but when the nurse told you the news you couldnât believe the words you were hearing.
âiâm-â you stuttered in shock, âiâm what?â
âyouâre pregnant,â the nurse beamed, âcongratulations!â
âi canât be, thereâs no way.â but there was a way, and you were.
what the hell am i going to do? your mind raced with so many numbing thoughts you could feel yourself getting sick again.
that night you mindlessly tinkered with a project as you tried to figure out how you would tell the prince he had gotten you pregnant from a drunken one night stand.
this is bad, this is so very, very bad. you debated not telling him at all and fleeing Asgard, but he had a right to his own child right? shaking your head you figured that he didnât have much right considering he just used you to get laid.
âhe would never agree to be the father,â you threw down your pencil on the table, âhe wouldnât even want to be...â
the doors suddenly flew open and you flinched at the surprise and looked to see who it was.
âY/N!â Loki called out.
What the hell does he want? you thought grimly to yourself.
Loki approached where you were sitting with a visibly upset look, âwhatâs wrong? did i do something to you?â
a surge of anger rose up in your chest, how dare he ask if he did something wrong when you knew he would inevitably leave you to deal with the consequences of what he started.
âyou shouldnât be down here your highness,â you replied in an cold tone.
âyour highness? what are you-?â Loki snatched the papers from your hands, âwhat the hell is going on with you?â
snatching the papers back you stood up straight and blinked back tears that threatened to spill, âi donât need you Loki Odinson. we are not friends. i am simply someone who happens to work in the palace.â
Lokiâs eyes widened in shock, he stood frozen in place as you rushed by him and ran out of the room. at a loss at what just happened, Loki slumped onto a stool and looked down into his empty hands.Â
you had been avoiding him for weeks, actually, ever since the party she hadnât gone to. sometimes he would catch her looking at him with of hurt and confusion. he had even asked other people if heâd run into you that night but everyone said he just went back to his room.
However, for the past few weeks heâd seen Y/N haunting his dreams like a nightly specter. he could almost feel her lips on his, smell the scent of her hair, and feel the light she always seemed to radiate when she was around. But then he would wake up, and the sensation of her would fade away as all dreams do.Â
if only i could figure out what made her say that we werenât even friends, Loki bit his lower lip. He wanted nothing more to be special to her, to be loved by her and for her to be his fully and truly.Â
Lokiâs eyes travelled over the papers that had been tossed around a few moments before. a sketch on the bottom paper caught his eye, pulling it out from under the stack, Loki froze.
the sketch was of a simple yet beautiful babyâs cradle. going through all their friends, he realized no one they knew was going to have any children.Â
was she, the stool toppled over as he stood up abruptly, was it possible that she was pregnant?
anger coursed through Lokiâs veins as he thought of another man sleeping with the only women heâd ever loved. a thought came to his mind that perhaps she did not want the baby or whoever the father was refused to support her.Â
i swear on my life iâll make them pay, Y/N. even if i have to kill them.Â
knowing that you might not want this information out in public, Loki secretly confirmed his suspicions with the same nurse who had helped you. for the next few days Loki investigated who could have gotten Y/N pregnant.Â
she had said that they were not friends, maybe she reacted that was because she was embarrassed her friends would give her too hard of a time. obviously her secret lover and unborn child was something she wanted to stay a secret.Â
with no leads, Loki gave up on the search and decided to confront you whether you wanted to talk about it or not. if you were in trouble for some reason he swore to himself he would do anything for you... even claim the baby as his own.Â
that night Loki knocked softly on your bedroom door. after no answer, he tried the handle and found the door unlocked.Â
âY/N?,â walking into the room, he looked around the corner, âwe should talk about whatâs going on.âÂ
no answer.Â
âi promise iâll support you in any situation you may be in.â
the room seemed questionably empty of your usual personal belongings which led him to the closet. throwing the doors open he was greeting with empty hangers and a few boxes.Â
âshit,â Loki rushed out of the room and headed toward the stables.Â
galloping down the rainbow bridge on your horse, you felt the stings of tears flow down your cheeks and into the wind. you had come to the realization that you would never receive the same love for Loki that you had for him. deciding to face reality and not burden the prince any longer you decided to leave everything.Â
holding back a sob you took another step towards the cosmic portal, you     felt your heart breaking as you were about to take the last step. you knew deep down in your heart that you would never return.
âof all the people to run from their problems, you are the last person iâd expect to see,â a voice behind you said.Â
âiâm not running from my problems,â you turned to face Loki one last time, âiâm fixing them.â
âi know youâre pregnant!â Loki blurted out at he reached out to you, âI know and Iâm here to tell you that you donât have to leave and whoever the father is we can work that out!â
you shook your head as the tears continued to stream down, âyou donât know what youâre saying.â
âY/N i donât care who-,â he began to say.
âYouâre the father!â you yelled, you could have sworn the silence lasted for an eternity in the moment that followed, âyouâre the father and iâm leaving so you wonât have to worry about us or tarnishing your claim to the throne. i know how much that means to you.â
âwhat?â
âthe night of the party, we um...â you fidgeted nervously, âwe slept together and you were too drunk to remember.âÂ
in one quick motion, Loki had you in his arms and gently held your face to his chest.
âyou idiot,â you could hear the emotion rising in his throat, âwhy didnât you tell me?â
âi was sure you didnât feel the same way for me that i felt for you.âÂ
you felt Lokiâs chest vibrate as he let out a soft laugh, âY/N, you are what I worry about, you are the one I deeply fell in love with, and your heart is the only throne I care to claim.âÂ
âLoki i-â you pulled away and looked up into his adoring face, âi want to believe that you do but...â
âletâs the raise our baby together.âÂ
âI cannot put that burden on you!âÂ
âa burden?â Loki gave you a quizzical look, âI could think of no greater honor than to raise our baby with you. I swear to you, no other child in the universe will be more loved than our baby.â
without saying anything, you reached up and kissed Loki with all the longing that had been bottled up inside.Â
âi love you, Loki. i love you more you know.â
Lokiâs thumb traced the edge of your bottom lip, âi love you too, and i will prove to you and our child every day that i am worthy to receive your love.âÂ
A/N: thank you to @leniram1890 for requesting this one shot, i hope i did it justice :)Â
âIt was, he says, an intensity of passion such as to startle the world, and perhaps for that very reason it was fated to be brief.â -The Tale of Genji
Itâs raining, you thought to yourself, how cliche.Â
The cold raindrops that had rolled off the leaves of the trees above mixed with your own hot tears. In one moment, they were tears of physical pain and agony, now they were for a pain only a soul could generate.Â
An ugly sob escaped past your gritted teeth. When you tried to cover the noise and your mouth you found that you didnât have the strength to lift your hand. Slowly, you were beginning to lose feeling in your legs and hands due to your fatal wound.Â
Angry tears began to fall at the realization that this was it. Your time on this earth had come to an end as had your future with with your husband and son. You would never get to watch your husband and son grow together. They would never know how much you truly loved them.Â
âI donât want to die,â you whimpered and gasped for air, âI donât want to leave them... I canâtâÂ
As your heartbeat began to slow and the pain began to subside, your eyelids grew heavier. You used to always wonder as a kid what it would be like to leave this life, where your last thoughts take you...Â
The morning sunlight practically blinded you as you began to wake up. Loki begged you to get darker curtains, but he knew how much you loved how the white curtains would billow in the breeze when you opened the windows, so the curtains stayed.Â
Rolling onto your back, your outstretched arm told you Loki was already awake and gone. His pillow was still a little warm so he must have gotten up recently.Â
As if your thoughts conjured him to the bedroom, Loki walked in with a little cooing bundle in his arms. The sight of Loki holding the baby almost brought you to tears, this must be perfection.Â
âHeâs happy this morning,â you mumbled softly as Loki turned from the window to face you.Â
âHeâs happy because he gets to see his beautiful mother,â Loki shot you a wink and crossed the room to place him in your waiting arms.Â
When he was in your arms, you could still the body heat from Loki on the babyâs blanket as it pressed against your chest. Gently rubbing your knuckle against his perfectly soft cheek you smiled.Â
Loki took a seat next to you and took you in his arms. Leaning against his chest you could feel his heart beat.Â
âWhat are you thinking Loki?â you asked softly.Â
âWere still so young,â he whispered back, âThereâs still so many things we havenât done yet.âÂ
You smiled up at him, âThen I look forward to doing it all with you.âÂ
Loki leaned closer to kiss and as he did he brushed a section of hair behind your ear, it was something he did when he was happy and at peace.Â
âEven in my last breaths I would be thinking of you Loki,â you said somber voice as you looked into his green eyes, âI am forever yours.âÂ
Loki let out a little laugh as he gave you another peck on the lips, âI would simply never let you go my love.âÂ
As your eyes closed for the last time you let your hearts sorrows bleed out onto the earth below you, Iâm so sorry my loves.
A thousand miles away, Loki held his son and looked out of the window as the rain fell. She should be home tonight...Â

âI would trade my heart for a night with you...âÂ
This man is about to have the night of his life, you thought evilly to yourself as you put the finishing touches of your lipstick on.Â
Tonight was date night and you decided to spice things up, not that anything needed spicing up but you liked to keep the god of mischief on his toes. Wrapping the long coat over your hidden surprise, you grinned in your mirror. Oh yeah, heâs never gonna see it coming.
You found Loki sprawled out on the couch like a cat sunning itself, as he flipped through the channels he also continued to stuff his mouth with Tonyâs fancy snacks he always tried to hide.Â
âReady to go Loki?â you asked in the most seductive voice you could muster.Â
Loki dusted off his hands and without looking pawed around for his suit jacket. You werenât quite sure you had ever seen him so nonchalant about going out before, usually he was the one being waited on.Â
âBecause I am,â you flashed open you coat to reveal a beautiful new set of lingerie you had just bought, âwhatdya think?âÂ
Lokiâs eyes barely flickered over your attire before he straightened his tie and grabbed the keys, âshouldnât you get dressed so we can go for dinner?â
You were pretty sure your jaw hit the ground. Here was the same man you usually had to keep from drooling over you in a sweatshirt now dismissing your smoking hot look without a glance.Â
âUm, excuse me?â you asked with a little laugh.Â
âHey, I didnât want us to be late for once and here you are in the middle of the Avengerâs living room with your underwear on,â Loki edged closer to the door, âI guess youâll just have to go like that.â
âLoki! I canât go like this, itâs freezing out!â you screeched as Loki grabbed your hand and started pulling you toward the open door.Â
You crossed your arms and stood in the doorway. Loki stopped and turned to face you, he put his forehead against yours and shot you a mischievous grin. With one quick movement, you were thrown over his shoulder and carried into the cold weather.Â
âLucky for me, the cold doesnât bother me,â Loki shrugged nonchalantly as you were losing your cool as you hung off his shoulder.Â
He ignores my outfit, treats me like a side of beef and now heâs chowing down like nothings wrong. You rested your pouting face on the palm of your hand and continued to watch Loki yam down on his steak.Â
âIs something wrong dear?â Loki asked through a mouthful of wine.Â
You fidgeted with your napkin, âItâs just, I dressed like this and everything and you didnât even notice.âÂ
âY/N I-â
âAm I just not enough for you? When did I get so boring?â you were almost on the verge of tears as you stared down at your plate.Â
âY/N please,â he grabbed your hand from across the table, âI swear to you I was ignoring you on purpose!â
Your head whipped up, âYou what!?âÂ
âNo no that came out wrong,â damn you Stark, Loki inwardly cursed, âStark told me if I kept my distance for a few nights it would drive you crazy and...â
Loki trailed off as he watched you erupt in a fit of laughter, âHe did not!âÂ
âI swear to you he did! Y/N when I saw you wearing that I had to look away in order to restrain myself from you,â Loki looked at you with pleading eyes.Â
âWhat a bunch of idiots,â you shook your head in laughter, âItâs always something isnât it?âÂ
Lokiâs slender fingers glided over your own, âif I havenât told you lately- Iâm always thinking of you. You are too close to my heart for it not to beat for you.âÂ
You blushed and bit you lip, âhow about we head back home yeah?âÂ
âMust you even ask?â with a huge grin on his face Loki held your hands in his and in the blink of an eye, you were back in your shared room.Â
Your jacket and his tie and shirt were immediately discarded on the floor. As Loki pushed you gently onto the bed, you smiled into the deep kiss.Â
âWhat?â he asked with a little laugh.Â
âOh itâs nothing,â you said softly as you stroked some hair out of his eyes, âBut if I haven;t told you... Iâm pregnant.âÂ
âY-youâre preg-!â Loki backed away and covered him mouth, âare you saying?âÂ
âYouâre gonna be a dad Loki!â you squealed happily as you jumped up in front of him and pulled his hands away.Â
âIâm going to be a father!âÂ
âCâmon Loki breath!â you shouted over his and your excitement.Â
Loki wrapped his arms around your wait and twirled you in a circle and ended with with a deep kiss, âI love you so much Y/N, youâre going to be the best mother this world has ever seen.âÂ
âI love you too Loki,â you giggled, âI love you too.âÂ
âWe are unusual and tragic and alive.â -Dave Eggers, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius
âWell that was... amazing!â you shouted as you practically ran through the door.Â
Tom, following close behind, laughed as he watched you twirl in circles. He had surprised you with Christmas Eve tickets to the ballet. You had mentioned before that when you were younger you would watch the ballet on the TV but never got the chance to see it performed live.Â
âOnly the best for my Y/N,â Tom caught you in his arms as you ran back to give him a hug.Â
You pepper his face in quick kisses, âthank you Tom, it was everything Iâve ever dreamed it could be.âÂ
A little while later, the tree was aglow with its warm lights, a scented candle was lit, and the only sounds that could be heard was the soft breathing of Tom who had wrapped himself behind you on the couch.Â
You still lay awake as the night events flashed through your mind. Things had been so stressful lately with both of your schedules, now you could just relax and love one another together. You closed you eyes and bit back a smile, you were the luckiest person in the world to have a man like Tom sleeping beside you.Â
Pressing a light kiss to the tip of his nose you nestled yourself between his arms and let the cozy atmosphere of the room lull you to sleep...Â
When you awoke it was dark, but not just because of the darkness of the night it was something else. Strange, there was no warm body next to you on the couch. You shivered and looked around.Â
The candle looked to have been snuffed out quite some time ago. The tree almost looked as if it were... dying? You stand from the couch and attempt to turn the light on- nothing.Â
âTom?â you half whisper, half yell up the stairs, âwhatâs going on?â Taking your hair down from the bun it had been you attempt to keep your ears and neck warm.Â
You pull up the blinds to look outside and you see nothing but falling snow. There are no other apartments, no cars, no trees. Just darkness and falling snow.Â
âOkay what the hell?â you mumbled under your breath and step back.Â
âStay right where you are,â a low voice demands.Â
Your breath caught in your throat, âturn around.âÂ
Slowly and agonizingly you turned around expecting to see a monstrous entity, something evil... something ugly.Â
âWho are you? How did you get in here?â a manâs voice in the shadows growled.Â
âI-is this a dream?â you squeaked.
A tell, slender man stepped out from the darkness. His pale complexion barely illuminated by the light from the window, âI asked who you were and how did you get here?âÂ
âIâm uh, Iâm Y/F/N Y/L/N and Iâm just from New York and I thought I was in my living room cause when I fell-â
âEnough!âÂ
âSorry I ramble when Iâm nervous,â you bit your lip nervously, why did this feel so gosh darn real.Â
As the man stepped closer you let out a small gasp, âT-Tom?âÂ
âI am Loki,â you could see the man better now and realized he looked exactly like Tom if Tom had darker, greasier hair and wore all black.Â
âOkay Loki dâya mind telling me where I am because at this point...â your thoughts trailed off as you looked around. You were no longer in an apartment living room, instead you found yourself standing in dark woods.Â
âThis is the forest of darkness and you,â Lokiâs voice was laced with danger as he looked down at a very confused you, âyou should not be here.âÂ
âHey man itâs not like Iâm trying to stay.âÂ
To your side you heard something run past, both Lokiâs and your head snapped over in itâs direction.Â
âWhat was that?â you asked. Forgetting Lokiâs dark demeanor you shuffled closer to him.Â
âTheyâre here, were have to go,â he mumbled. Grabbing you hand, Loki pulled you from your frozen stance and dashed through the trees with you in tow.Â
Soon the sound of large bodies crashing behind you could be heard gaining quickly to where you were.Â
âItâs too late weâre going to have to fight!â Loki yelled as he came to an abrupt halt.Â
Um who said anything about fighting, what kind of wacko dream am I having? You gawked at the tall, dark stranger as he tossed you a long blade that fell at your feet.Â
âWhat?â you were screaming at this point, âwhat am I supposed to be fighting? Who are we fighting? Whatâs going on?âÂ
Loki ignored the slew of questions and in one quick motion he swept the blade over your head. As you ducked you saw the body of a very large... something fall to the ground beside you.Â
âIs that a rat? IS THAT A RAT? WHY IS IT SO BIG? HOLY HELL!â you screamed.Â
âPick up the damn sword and help me,â Loki hissed as ten more arrived on scene.Â
âOh God, oh God,â you bent down to pick up the blade and held it lamely in front of you, âwhy rats of all things?â
After nearly getting your face bit off, you decided it was good enough incentive to fight for your life along side of Loki.Â
After the last rat had fallen you leaned back on a boulder to catch your breath, âwell Loki, we make a good team.âÂ
Loki rolled his eyes and cleaned off his sword, âYeah one out of ten isnât so bad for someone like you I suppose.âÂ
âSomeone like me?â you began to say but stopped when you saw him leaving.Â
You caught up to him and grabbed his arm, âyouâre not gonna just leave me out here are you?âÂ
âWell youâre not coming with me,â Loki grunted as he tried to pull away.Â
âWell youâre not leaving me, â you insisted.Â
âWell youâre not- goodness woman!â Loki yelled, âfine you can come, but stay out of the way.âÂ
âOh goody, what a perfect gentleman,â you crooned sarcastically and followed behind him in the snow.Â
âSo what were those things?âÂ
When you came out from the forest and looked out into the ravine you gasped, âItâs like a gingerbread town!â Loki ignored the comment but shot you a strange look.Â
You expected him to walk through the town but instead he darted from shadow to shadow, âare you some kind of criminal?â
âDepends who you asked,â Loki replied in a quiet voice.Â
In the alley way you heard a commotion coming from the streets. A grand parade made its way past where Loki and you were hiding. There were many soldiers walking in perfect uniform and everything seemed quite whimsical.Â
âThatâs the Sugarplum Fairy and her top henchman, the captain of the guard,â Loki whispered almost poisonously in your ear.Â
You let out a short laugh, âyeah I guess she does kind of look like...âÂ
Good Lord were you in... The Nutcracker? You decided that maybe you should stop snacking before you fell asleep.Â
âHey Loki? What are the people like around here?â
âAgain, depends who you ask. Everyone up above are all happy-go-lucky who eat sweets and party,â he replied as he grabbed your hand again.Â
âAnd the people down below?â
Loki didnât answer, instead he opened a side door and brought you down a series of stairs.Â
âWeâre down here because we didnât fit the mold of that witchâs rotting regime,â Loki said.Â
As you looked around you saw scores of people walking around. It was if there was a whole other city below the one you had just been in.Â
âItâs the rejects, the vandals and the outcasts,â Loki led you through a marketplace, âitâs where the true fighters are.âÂ
âWhat are you fighting for?â you asked carefully.Â
âFreedom, equality,â he turned the corner, âEither one will do.âÂ
âYouâre talking about a war.âÂ
âAnd weâre prepared for one as well,â you stepped into an elevator like space and traveled up a few stories.Â
Stepping out into a steeple like area, you could see the large palace below and the festivities that were going on.Â
âYou plan to attack,â you said as the setting sun and cold air rested on your face.Â
âTonight.â
Who knew the ballet was so violent? You thought to yourself.Â
âWe tried to live in the woods as an independent people, but the Queen, or witch, would not allow it. She cursed the forest with a putrid darkness and you saw what hunts in the shadows,â Loki looked down at the castle with anger in his eyes.Â
âIâm in,â you said resolutely.Â
âWoah woah woah who said anything about you coming?â Loki straightened up and looked down at your determined face.Â
âI can fight, youâve seen me fight,â you grinned.Â
âIâve seen you fight,â Loki smiled, he actually smiled, âthatâs why you canât go.âÂ
âWhy not!âÂ
âI canât have anything bad happen to you, Y/N of New York,â Loki smirked and you rolled your eyes.Â
âI will be there Loki,â you playfully hit his arm, âbesides, weâre a team.âÂ
As you descended the stairs you smiled to yourself, this Loki dude, whoever he was... wasnât all that bad.Â
That night, Loki, you and a handful of other men and women crept into the castle. With all the merriment and festivities going on it was hard to pull your eyes away from it. It was everything you would have thought the palace would be.Â
âStay focused,â Loki whispered into your ears sending a shiver down your spine.Â
A distraction was made and the royal guard went running in its direction. You caught a glance of the queens livid face. She knew what was about to happen and she was sure that she would squash the infiltrators once and for all.Â
A little while later you found yourself in her bedchambers waiting for her and her guards to enter. When she did, the first person she locked eyes with was you.Â
âWell well well what do we have here?â A coy smile crept over her ruby lips.Â
âStand down you witch!â Loki snarled as both him and you readied your swords.Â
âGuards,â the queen barked, âleave me. I want to play this out myself!âÂ
Loki lunged at her but cut through thin air, her maniacal laughter rang throughout the room. Â
She dodged almost every hit and swing you and Loki took at her, but after a while she grew tired of the attempts and decided to put an end to it.Â
With a flick of her wrist, Loki went crashing through the balcony doors and onto the balcony. You tried to cut her down but she knocked the blade from your hands and backed you up against a wall.Â
âNot so tough now without your little protector are you?â the woman sneered, as the fighting had gone on you realized she had gotten uglier and uglier.Â
âY/N, get out of there,â Loki groaned as he tried to get up.Â
âAfter I kill you I think I might take my time on him,â she nodded her head in his direction.Â
âItâs a shame you know?â You choked out, âThe wrong one always dies in this story.âÂ
âAh but stories are just manipulation my dear, threads of words sewn together to create fanciful lies,â the witch pressed your head to the wall and held a blade to your throat.Â
âStop!â Loki yelled.Â
Right before she plunged the dagger into your chest, Loki shoved his own into her back. Instead of dying, the witch slowly stood up and turned to face Loki.Â
âHow unwise of you,â she stepped over you to Loki, âYou who call yourself King of this kingdom. You are nothing more than a king of the rats, you are nothing.âÂ
With one swift unsuspecting move, she shoved a dagger into his side right before you cut her head off causing her to turn to sugar crystals all over the floor.Â
Rushing over to where Loki lay you hovered over him, âLoki, hey man you gotta hold on okay? Youâre going to be fine.â
âY/N,â Loki moaned, he put his hand up for you to grab, âthank you.âÂ
âNo no no Loki itâs gonna be alright I promise you, youâre going to make it I swear,â tears began to roll down your cheek and onto his chest.Â
âYouâll always have a place in my heart Y/N of New York,â you tried to smile at his words, âYou too Loki of the creepy forest where my apartment should be.â
âHe must go to the flowers,â a young man in a soldiers uniform stood behind you, it was the queens general.Â
âW-Hat?â you asked through your tears.
âIâll help you take him, perhaps he may still live,â with that, the solider helped you pick up Loki.Â
You rested him down in the field of flowers and the soldier gave you your privacy with Loki. He looked to pale you thought it was already too late.Â
âLoki please, you need to wake up. People need you, a lot of people need you Loki,â you sniffed and held back a sob, âplease.âÂ
Morning dew from the flower petals began to congregate on his fingertips and travel up his arms and to his wound. It was like something from a Disney movie. A fresh, morning breeze drifted over where he lay and you looked at the rising sun.Â
A hand gently brushed your arm and you looked back over at Loki, âYouâre awake!âÂ
âCouldn't let anything happen to my girl,â Loki said weakly with a soft smile.Â
âLoki this place its... itâs beautiful. I wish I could stay forever...â you looked down at your hands.Â
âYou have to go back... I know,â Loki smiled sadly at you.Â
As you helped him stand to his feet, he pushed some of your hair off your shoulders.Â
âYou know Y/N, you are and unusual girl, youâre brave yet tragic, and you are full of life. So live a life full of it,â Loki pressed a kiss to your check and you closed your eyes at the touch.Â
You could still smell the flowers in the field but it soon turned into a stronger Christmas scent. You felt and arm wrap over your middle and pull you in closer. Youâre eyes darted around the familiar space for any sign of what just happened.Â
âSomething wrong darling?â Tom mumbled sleepily into your hair.Â
âJust a dream,â you whispered softly.Â
You looked at your phone quickly, âMerry Christmas my love.âÂ
âShe had blue skin, and so did he. He kept it hid, and so did she. They searched for blue their whole life through, then passed right by- and never knew.â
With excitement and mischief rushing through your veins, you grinned an evil smile as you gripped the stolen book in you hands. You had asked Sam time and time again if you could borrow it but he always said no for some strange reason. In hopes that you wouldnât run into anyone, you skidded around the corner nearly slipping on the smooth tile in your fuzzy socks.Â
A roomful of heads turned to look at you and the guilty look you had plastered on your face. The book dropped to the floor with a thud and you swallowed hard, âOh my god.âÂ
Your eyes connected with another pair across the room who had just turned around. Never in a million years did you expect to cross paths with... him.Â
âItâs you.âÂ
*900 years earlier*Â
âKhione slow down!â your younger brothers yelled after you.Â
The snow that crunched beneath your boots pushed you to run even faster, âYou need to run faster if you want to beat me!âÂ
âKhione!â the whining of your name from the three young boys made you roll your eyes and slow down for them. Tousling their dirty blonde hair you grinned and playfully shoved them into your fathers longhouse.Â
âFather we finally beat Khione!â they crowed in delight.Â
You rolled your eyes and shook your head in exasperation as you took a seat by the long fire pit. Your fatherâs eye caught yours and returned the same look of exasperation. Tonight would be the first night of Yule to honor the gods through celebration and everyone spiritâs were high.Â
Walking back out into the late afternoon sun, you filled your lungs with the crisp, cold air. You could feel snow in the air and it brought a smile to your face. You decided to check your traps before the celebrations began and you became to drunk to remember them.Â
Being alone in the woods always made you more at ease with the world than any other place. Although you were a fierce warrior, popular within the village, and heir to your father as chieftain, you still felt displaced. You were a taller than most, your hair was darker than any one elseâs in the tribe and you always felt the universe calling out to you to leave or be left alone.Â
Snatching the hare that had been caught you put it in your sack and began to turn around. You heard it before you saw it, a hungry bear approached the clearing where your traps had been. It disregarded the hare you threw in the opposite direction and slowly padded closer to you.Â
You reached back to find you had only brought three arrows with you, growling in annoyance you notched the first and let it fly. It missed its mark and sank into its back, the second one in its shoulder when it stood up.Â
âThink Khione!â you hissed at yourself. Your eye caught sight of a broken branch, in one quick motion you somersaulted and grabbed it.Â
The quick motion scared the bear and it charged at you. With all your might you clubbed the bear in the head hoping to knock it off momentum. With that, you fell back into a deep ditch along with the bear. Right before the bear snapped its jaws on your face you shoved the last arrow up through its jaw to the roof of its mouth. It yelped in surprise and barreled back up the ditch while at the same time sending dirt and stones back down on you.Â
A larger rock hit your head with so much force your vision became blurred. Looking down at your bloodied hands you could have sworn they almost looked blue. You thought you saw the figure of a person standing at the top of the ditch so you attempted to ask for help but blacked out before the words left you lips.
Moments later you came to staring into someoneâs eyes, someones very beautiful eyes. Your eyes squinted to try and focus on them and your head swam in confusion still fuzzy from the hit.Â
âYou just took down a bear with your bare hands and here you are entranced by my eyes,â a cool voice said.Â
You let out a light laugh, âhaha... bare hands.â
Loki shook his head and held his hands out, âletâs get you out of the snow.âÂ
You almost fell back onto the ground before the stranger steadied you, âdid you um...âÂ
âYes I did and youâre welcome,â he said curtly before turning around to leave.Â
âWait!,â you ran over and caught his arm, âI want to thank you.âÂ
âYou have,â Loki shifted his eyes over to where you stood with a hopeful look on your face.Â
âIt is the beginning of Yule it would be my honor if you would celebrate as my guest to give thanks to the gods for our safety.âÂ
Loki turned around with a sparkle in his eye, âThe gods? Well I suppose I must than.âÂ
âGood,â a smile spread across your regal features, âwhat is your name?âÂ
âLoki, and what do they call you?âÂ
âKhione.âÂ
Loki tilted his head, âthat does not come from your language, why is that?âÂ
You shrugged and looked around, âI donât know, I only know it has a connection with the snow.âÂ
âWell its beauty pales in comparison to yours,â Loki flashed you a quick smile and you shook your head and rolled your eyes as if you were dealing with a younger brother.Â
âItâs going to be dark soon we should head back home.âÂ
That night there was feasting, games, stories of the gods and sacrifices. Everyone laughed with one another and enjoyed the time of merriment and warmth. You threw your head back in laughter as Loki told you another story of his brother who seemed to much of an oaf for his own good.Â
As the night went on, you stepped out into the night for fresh air. You pulled you furs a little tighter around you as you looked up into the dark, snowy heavens.Â
âAlways in the snow i see my little eirlys*,â walking up next to you, Loki spilled out whatever was left in his cup and set it down.Â
âIâve always preferred the cold,â you said softly. You could feel snowflakes melting on your nose and getting caught in your eyelashes.Â
âAs do I,â Loki watched you intently as snowflakes danced around you, âYou are not like the others.âÂ
âNo,â You dug the toe of your boots into the snow, âthere is something that sets me apart from them and I have yet to be revealed to what that is,â you sighed.Â
âI feel that as well among my own people.â Loki said quietly.Â
âWell what do we do about it Loki?â you asked with a soft smile, âwhat do we do with what sets up apart?âÂ
Loki stepped closer to you, his thumb gently grazed over the scratches on your face from earlier, âwe find it, and we make it our own.â
âWhy do I feel like we might not like what we find?â
âBecause knowing ourselves may be more frightening than never knowing.âÂ
Both Loki and you leaned closer to one another but were cut off as the door flung open letting the light of the fire and the sound of the party bleed out into the night. Your rambunctious brothers came tumbling out immediately tackling Loki. You laughed as Loki shot you a happy look, he threw one up in the air, put one under his arm and let the other get dragged by his leg. You closed the door and rejoined the party. You wished with all your might this night would never end. Â
That night, Loki and you snuggled beneath your furs. Your heart beat fast as you looked into his shining eyes.Â
âStay,â you whispered hoarsely. You let your hand travel to his smooth face and brushed away his raven locks.Â
âYou know I canât,â Loki put his hand over your hand and intertwined his fingers with yours, âI must return to my own people.âÂ
âI know,â you closed you eyes and smiled sadly, âBut I will never see you again.âÂ
âIn another lifetime my eirlys,â Loki pressed a kiss against the back of your hand, âwhen we walk the halls of the gods.âÂ
The next morning he was gone and you never set eyes on your mysterious stranger again.Â
*Present Day*
And now that you were looking at him you couldnât take your eyes off him. It was almost the same day as the last time he walked in and out of your life with no explanation. Since then much had happened, much had been learned.Â
âUm, do you guys know each other or something?â Tony asked as his head went from looking at you to Loki.Â
âWhere have I seen you before?â Loki asked, his voice barely audible.Â
Walking closer you reached out almost as if you expected him to vanish into thin air, âIt was just a dream.âÂ
âA thousand years ago.â
âHow are you still alive?â Loki asked incredulously, his hand almost went out to touch you but he stopped himself.Â
The room began to filter out and as they left they dashed to the comm room to see if they could hear anything. Sam picked up his book on the way out.Â
âItâs because of that feeling I had all that time ago,â you held back a shiver at the thought of him finding out, âbut you... youâre a god arenât you?âÂ
Loki let out a short laugh and licked his bottom lip, âItâs a little bit more complicated than that.âÂ
âI have time,â looking at him you wondered if it really had just been a dream all those years ago.Â
âI am Loki, of Asgard. Son of Laufey, a frost giant,â with those words his skin began to turn a pale blue color. He expected you to back away in horror, but you didnât.Â
Instead, you took his hand in yours. You ignored the obvious flinch when he felt your fingers come in contact with his. The same color spread across your own features and it was Lokiâs turn to look on in surprise.Â
âYou? You too?â he whispered.Â
âThat night, hundreds of years ago,â your fingers wrapped around his and you stepped chest to chest with him, âI thought I had found someone special. Someone who knew how alone I felt even in a room full of people, turns out I was alone before they left me.âÂ
Lokiâs head drooped as he couldnât bear to look you in the eyes, his heart had screamed at him to return to you for centuries even after he thought you had died.Â
You lifted his chin and looked into the same red eyes that you possessed, ânow that weâve found it, do we make it our own?âÂ
âI will make yours mine if you will make mine yours,â Lokiâs voice cracked with emotion.Â
âYou have to find that place that brings out the human in you, the soul in you, the love in you.â -R.M. Drake
âIâm hoooome!â you crowed out happily as you threw your keys on the little desk by the door and tossed your bag aside. Coming in from the freezing cold even the Christmas lights made you feel a little warmer as you stepped inside.Â
Almost out of nowhere, Loki came careening around the corner and scooped you into his arms in a tight huge. You giggled as you were lifted off your feet and swung in a quick circle.Â
âI think you missed me almost as much as I missed you,â arms wrapped around his neck you looked down lovingly at Loki.Â
âDarling I assure you,â Loki pressed a quick kiss to your smiling lips, âI missed you more.âÂ
âYou know what else I missed today?â you asked seductively as you ran a finger down his firm chest.Â
âWhat would that be?â
âLunch and Iâm absolutely starving!â squeezing past a very disappointed Loki you went into the bedroom to switch out your skirt and heels for an over-sized t-shirt and shorts.Â
When you came back out you grinned as you saw Loki setting food out on the counter. Even though you had a perfectly fine table, you always seemed to end up sitting at the counter while Loki stood on the kitchen side facing you.Â
âDid you do all this yourself?â you asked in minor disbelief as you threw your hair up.Â
âI did,â Loki responded proudly as he set a basket of bread in front of you, âI wanted to do something special for you.â
You blushed, âWell thank you Loki, this really means a lot to me especially after todayâŚâÂ
The next five minutes was consisted of you talking around every bite you took about work. You were so animated and passionate about what you were saying Loki didnât have the heart to tell you to slow down.Â
You were so deep into telling him about the new shipment of artifacts that had just arrived in the afternoon that you didnât noticed he had stopped eating. Loki stood with his arms crossed and looked at you like he had never seen such beauty before. You, with dark circles starting to appear under your eyes, hair thrown up and your mouth full of food.Â
âLoki, youâre staring.â You waved your arms around like an idiot to snap him back into reality.Â
âSorry I was just⌠I love hearing you talk about things you love,â it was Lokiâs turn to blush and he nervously tucked a piece of hair behind his ear.Â
âMaybe I should talk a little less about my day huh?â you smiled as you took a sip of your wine.Â
âY/N did you know that youâre the most beautiful creature to exist, ever, in the lifetime of this universe,â Loki slowly came around from the counter and swiveled you around in your chair to fully face him.Â
âUm, well I could say the same about you love,â you twisted a lock of his hair between you fingers. Hopping down from your chair, you drug Loki by the hand to the living room, made him sit down and straddled his lap as you held his face in your hands.Â
âWhatâs going on? Like really Loki,â you asked softly, your eyes searched his for answers, âI can feel something melancholy rising in you.âÂ
Loki let out a deep sigh and gently placed both hands on either sides of your thighs, âYou know, I donât like hardly anyone I meet, yet I fell in love with you. My heart contains a violence I canât dispel, yet I love you more that I ever thought possible. The problem isâŚâÂ
Lokiâs eyes broke away from yours and he let his gaze wander away.Â
âWhatâs the problem Lok?â you asked as you brought his attention back to you.Â
âThe problem is, I feel like Iâve lost my mind and Iâm losing you just as well,â the last part came out barely above a whisper.Â
âYou know my heart Loki,â you whispered as you rested your forehead against his cool on, âMy heart belongs to you now and forever. In this moment and every one after.âÂ
âSo Angela is a total bitch huh?â Loki asked with a light little laugh.Â
âOh my gosh,â you dramatically rolled your eyes and groaned, âyou have no idea let me tell you what she had the nerve to say to me todayâŚâ

âMy heart and soul were never mine to own.â RKS
Running late. Rushing through everything. This had been your life for the past three weeks. Brainstorming, research, failures and successes is what filled your ever firing mind. And finally, the breakthrough. Your team cheered and exhaled in relief when the final project was submitted.Â
Leaning back in your roller chair, the one with the best padding you had fought Y/F/N for, you closed your eyes for what felt like the first time in eternity. You placed your blue light glasses on your desk and rubbed your tired eyes.Â
A happy grin grew on your face as you felt the weight of the world fall off your shoulders and lift from your chest. Then his name crossed your mind. The heartbreak that had plagued you had finally begun to quiet thanks to the work that you drowned yourself in.Â
You pursed your lips tightly together, to be quite honest, you were scared to go home to an empty apartment. Itâs funny how a space void of him was harder to live with than when you had been with him. Communication had not been a strong suite of Lokiâs and yours.Â
As you threw your things into your bag a pang of nostalgia shot through your heart. It had began with smart, witty comments and lots of butterflies in the stomach. It ended with smart, dry comments and the feeling of dread sat like a stone in your stomach.Â
You flashed the janitor a quick smile as you stepped onto the elevator. He nodded his head disapprovingly, you were always the first to arrive and the last to leave. Popping your earbuds in your ear you took a deep breath and hit shuffle.Â
Your car beeped as you unlocked itâs white doors. Bag tossed to the passenger seat and mirrors adjusted, you put the keys in the ignition and peeled out of the parking garage. More than once you had to refocus yourself on the road and found yourself getting lost in thoughts and music to the point where the world muted itself.Â
It had just began to rain lightly and as you sped down the highway. Windshield wipers brushed back and forth with a dull sounds as the glass reflected passing car lights. Your eyes began to blur with this sight of red and white headlights and before you knew it you were slamming on your brakes.Â
You swerved as quickly as you could into a roadside ditch. With a crash of glass and metal everything went black.Â
A knocking on his door prompted Loki to rise from his reading armchair. During the Christmas season you would drape yourself across Loki as he read a book in his Asgardian tongue and you would feel the rumble of his chest as he read. But he had been its only occupant for some time now. Mumbling in annoyance Loki looked to see who it was.Â
âWhat is it Thor?â he huffed as he swung the door open. He didnât miss the look of terror written on his brotherâs face but he didnât care. If the Avengers wanted his help then it was just too bad because he wasnât in the helping mood.Â
âLoki itâs Y/N,â Thor said not breaking eye contact.
âDonât tell me she sent you to harass me, or worse - try and make amends for what she did,â Loki practically spat.Â
âSheâs been in an accident,â raindrops dripped from Thorâs long hair and down his face as he watched his brotherâs face fall.Â
âIs she... is she,â Loki gulped.Â
âSheâs alive but itâs bad. Iâm taking to you the hospital.âÂ
Loki nodded mutely and grabbed a jacket before rushing into the steady downpour with Thor. The whole way there Loki didnât know how to settle the thoughts that were shooting in a million different directions.Â
She would not want me to be with her he thought to himself grievously.Â
The hospital was chaos but luckily Natasha was waiting for the two demigods and dragged throughout the building. Everything was a blur, people were rushing everywhere. Sounds of crying and the smell of chemicals made Loki want to puke.Â
âSheâs in surgery right now. Last I heard it could be hours until theyâre done,â Nat said as she crossed her arms and shot them a sympathetic look. You were like a sister to her but someone had to keep a clear head and she knew none of the boys would.Â
âThat is if she makes it,â Loki said gravely.Â
âYeah,â Nat swallowed nervously, âif she makes it.âÂ
Three hours later the surgery was finished but still left you in critical condition. Loki left an illusion of himself in the waiting room so he could make sure you were still with him.Â
Loki slowly made his way over to the hospital bed where you were and bit back a sob when he saw your condition. You couldnât breath on your own and bruises and cuts covered you skin, he could sense the internal damage that had been done.Â
âThis is all my fault,â he croaked, with shaking hands he caressed your forehead with the side of his thumb, âI should never have let you go.âÂ
But you didnât respond. You couldnât.Â
Loki inhaled sharply as a thought crossed his mind. He had promised never to try this on you but if there was a chance that you didnât make it, he couldn't risk not telling you how he felt. Closing his eyes, Loki pressed a light kiss to your forehead and let his magic flow into you.Â
Loki squinted as he blinked awake. He was back in the bed you and him shared before the breakup. Rolling on his back, he wondered if he had made the right decision to enter your psyche.Â
He could tell it was just about to be sunrise and seeing one side of the bed empty instinct told him where you had gone. Stepping through the white curtains and onto the balcony, he smiled. Sunrise had always held a special place in your heart for the pure, untouched beauty it brought to the world each morning.Â
âLoki?â Lokiâs eyes whipped over to where he heard your voice.Â
âLoki what are you doing here?â you asked in surprised voice.
âY/N I-,â Loki shook his head as he looked at your smiling face, âI shouldnât...âÂ
âShouldnât be here?â you finished for him, âOf course you should be here, I love you.âÂ
Loki stood where he was, âI shouldnât have let this happen.â
You ran your hands through your hair and pulled his dejected form to your side at the balcony. âItâs not your choice Loki, you always did have a mind for control.âÂ
âWhat broke us?â a tear escaped down Lokiâs cheek.Â
âLife, life broke us,â you gently wiped away his streaming tears, âbut I always knew it would bring us back together again.âÂ
âArenât you afraid?â In Lokiâs ears, he sounded like when he was a young boy and would ask his mother questions. You let out a breathy laugh at his innocent question.Â
âIâm terrified. Iâm terrified of leaving the man I love.âÂ
Loki grasped you in a tight hug as he tried to remember the feeling of you in his arms.Â
âIs it just me or is it a little cold,â you shivered in his arms as you looked at the gradually rising sun.Â
âI always told you not to wear shorts to bed but did you ever listen?â Loki tried to joke past the overwhelming sadness.Â
âNo,â you whispered contentedly into his chest.Â
âHey look, the sun is coming up,â lifting your face up to look at Loki you gave him a soft smile and stroked his face once more.Â
âMy heart and soul belong to you Loki Odinson. I donât think they were ever mine to begin with.âÂ
Loki grasped your face in his hands and brought you in for one more kiss. You smiled into the kiss as the sun got brighter and brighter. Soon the light was blinding and the sensation of you began to fade away.Â
Loki opened his eyes with his lips still on your forehead. A ringing that had been in his ears now faded into a deafening reality. Lokiâs eyes shot to the monitor to see your heartbeat flatten. Loki squeezed his eyes closed and let out a choked sob.
âIâm so sorry my love,â he whispered.Â
With one last look Loki faded back into his illusion at the same time a rush of nurses rushed, in the direction of your room. Loki stood up slowly from his chair, ignored the strange looks from Thor and Nat and headed down the white hall.Â
Was this it? Was this everything he was good for? Hurting people and getting hurt. He had to find you, whether it be in the afterlife or in another dimension he had to get you back and make things right.Â
Hi i cannot express how much joy your writing gives me. I hope writing always gives you happiness and that your passion for it stays strong. I know this might sound cheesy, but I really wanted you to know. đ
That really means a lot to me especially when it seems no one is reading my work so thank you đđ
Hey welcome back from your hiatus! Hope youâre doing well! Just read your recent Loki and Magneto fics and Iâm glad to see your magical writing again
Thank you so much anon its so nice to get such nice feedback âşâş
Anon Request: Hi! Hope you're doing well! I was wondering if you can write for Erik Lehnsherr x FemReader? I was thinking of something like Erik and Reader go on a mission and none of them have really been upfront about their feelings but they both care for each other and flirt together. So when they're on the mission, they encounter some danger and Reader is taken hostage, Erik rescues her and tells her that he loves her. Thank you!
If this was The Office or Parks and Rec., there would be a camera separately filming you and Erik. They would ask the both of you if you were nervous for the upcoming mission to which would respond- no, of course not. There would be a lot of nervous shifting around, blushing and clearing of throats but both would deny the simple question.Â
âSorry,â you flashed Erik an apologetic smile as the rocking of the train shifted you off balance causing you to bump into his solid form.Â
Erik shot you a devilish smirk and leaned close to your ear, his warm breath sent shivers down your back, âI hope your not this clumsy on the mission Agent 62.âÂ
You pursed lips as you fought back a grin, âPlease, call me Y/N.âÂ
âNo can-do Agent 62, I like to keep things strictly professional,â Erik cleared his throat and looked ahead with a cocky smirk plastered across his lips.Â
Oh boy, you thought to yourself, he sure isnât going to make this easy is he? What a jerk, what a handsome jerk.Â
You had a mission in the Swiss Alps, it had been reiterated that this was no vacation. You understood why they said that when you reached the temporary headquarters. It was something out of a hallmark movie, snowy Swiss mountains was your view and the sun illuminated the white snow.Â
Erik let his bag of equipment fall on the floor, of course, there was only one queen sized bed. Bloody hell Charles what are you playing at here, Erik cursed to himself. He must have booked the honeymoon sweet by âaccidentâ.Â
âRock, paper, scissors for the bed?â Your voice broke through Erikâs thoughts.Â
âOh, uh, no you can just have it,â he stammered as he ran his hand through his hair.Â
âOh, well I mean-â you began.Â
âSeriously, itâs fine the rug looks pretty comfortable anyways,â Erik rushed as he began pulling blankets from the closet.Â
âSuit yourself,â with a laugh you jumped onto the bed messing up the pristine make. Rolling over in a comfortable bliss you missed the amused chuckle that came from Erik. It was often he saw you so happy, usually it was cool, even glances from you to him.Â
What you didnât know is that he lived for those little glances, any kind of attention from you sent his lovestruck brain reeling. Charles always said that you had a soft spot for him, but he had yet to discover the truth of that accusation.Â
That night over dinner, Erik and you went over the heist plans. The plan was simple, break into the most highly secured bank, retrieve stolen documents that belonged to the English Prime Minister and get the hell out. You shivered in delight, your life really was a James Bond movie, that is except for the massive lack of romance. Satisfied with the plan, the pair headed to bed.Â
You didnât know where to place your eyes. Only one bathroom sink and two people who needed to brush their teeth. When Erik saw you move to brush your teeth in the kitchen sink, he caught part of your sweater and dragged you back over. With a mouthful of toothpaste, he nodded his head toward the sink for you to brush your teeth.Â
We look like were in a freaking Hallmark movie, you thought to yourself.Â
Weâd make one hell of a Hallmark movie, Erik thought.Â
It was quiet, way too quiet. You cleared your throat awkwardly and rolled stiffly in your extremely fluffy bed.Â
âErik?â you whispered aloud.Â
âHrmph,â was the response you received.Â
Crawling over to the end of the bed you peaked your head over, âI feel really bad that youâre sleeping on the ground.âÂ
âDonât worry about it Agent,â he mumbled as he rearranged his pillows.Â
âIf you say so,â you snuggled back under the covers, âgoodnight.â
âGoodnight.âÂ
When Erik woke up the bed was empty and made just as pristinely as before. After getting dressed in his mission uniform he made his way to the kitchen and to see where you had gone off to.Â
Rounding the corner to the kitchen he stopped when he saw a black figure standing on the porch. Walking behind the granite countertop to reach for the hidden gun he paused when he recognized the hair that stood out stark against the white backdrop.Â
Padding silently over to the sliding, glass door he leaned against the doorway and took in the sight in before him. You were wearing your all black OP suit and let your hair loose and natural in the fresh, crisp air. You were stretching out using the railing as well as mixing in a few happy dance moves.Â
Erik shook his head in wonder, how you became the best reconnaissance and heist agent he had no idea. At first glance you should be a dancer or... actually no, spy fit you quite well. You were alluring yet mysterious, a professional in your field yet quite unreadable and unpredictable.Â
You spun around to face Erik standing in the doorway and rolled your eyes, here we go.Â
âAgent 62, youâre looking energetic this bright morning,â Erik teased.Â
âLetâs keep it professional huh,â you gave him a gentle pat on the cheek as you brushed past him to get inside.Â
âCoffee?â you offered.Â
âCoffee,â Erik agreed whole-heartedly.Â
You watched intently as Erik used his powers to open the intricate safe opening. Your eyes swept across your surrounding for any threats, one would have thought the safe would be hidden deep beneath the mountains but instead it was hanging off a precarious cliff. Odd.Â
âWeâre in,â Erik breathed a sigh of relief as he cautiously pushed the door open.Â
âWeâre in,â you mocked as you followed after him.Â
âYou know Iâm getting real tired of the sass Agent 62,â Erik huffed in feigned annoyance.Â
âWhat would you do without me though?â you teased.Â
âNot have a sore back from sleeping on the ground thatâs for sure,â Erik shot back playfully.Â
It was your job to retrieve the papers and to distinguish the genuine from the fake. You did your job rather effortlessly and you signaled Erik to exit the safe. You slung the tube of documents across your back and headed to the entrance with him. Thatâs when the alarms went haywire and yelling could instantly be heard.Â
Your entrance to the room was no longer in commission so you had to think of a way out quickly.Â
âThe window,â whipping out your gun you began shooting at the weakest spots in the thick glass.Â
Following your lead, Erik began hurling any metal object he could find at the glass.Â
âWhy isnât it breaking?â he yelled above the sirens.Â
âWe're so high up the pressure can have an effect on the artifacts stored away!â you yelled back.
A pounding on the blocked door made both heads whip in its direction. These security guards were no joke, they were hired assassins from all over the world.Â
âShit,â you mumbled, âWeâre going to have to jump now.âÂ
Taking a running start, Erik and you hurled yourself out of the cracked windows. Simultaneously, you turned on your back midair and shot your wall latch onto the building and let yourself be lowered down.Â
A cave opening on the side of the mountain could be seen and it was closer to Erik than it was you. You quickly looked up to see a guard looking at the retreating figures and a spray of bullets barely missed you.Â
âGrab my hand!â Erik yelled stretching out his hand for you to grab onto him.Â
Looking up again you saw that they had put the guns away and were now sawing away at your rope. Without thinking of your own safety, you pressed the documents into your hand right before you felt yourself plummeting to the ground below.
âY/N!â Erik screamed but you disappeared below the misty clouds.Â
Erik leaned against the cave wall and tried to make himself breath. You couldnât be gone; you had just been smiling over coffee with him a few hours ago. You couldn't be gone; he wouldn't let you be.Â
From the tunnel he had found himself in he heard what sounded like a large military vehicle. Maybe that was his way out. At the end was a large vent, looking down he saw a bustling warehouse of military weapons he had never seen before. This was new.Â
A commotion to the side caught his eye. A group of men with guns surrounded another group of men in white who were dragging an unconscious figure with them. A black hat fell to the ground revealing the head of hair he had been mesmerized with that morning.Â
He found your holding cell rather easily and made his way inside quickly overbearing the men in lab suits who were with you. He snapped off the metal cuffs that held you to an interrogation table and let you fall into him.Â
You head lolled from side to side as he tried to bring your face up to his. Fresh blood trickled from your mouth and your nose and onto the cement floor.Â
âHey, hey Y/N I need you to come back to me okay?â Erik pushed some hair out of your face as he held you close.Â
âErik?â You blinked in confusion, the last thing you remembered was him screaming your name and falling, falling.Â
âI got you,â he wiped away a tear that rolled off to the side of your temple, âI got you.âÂ
âI thought you were trying to keep it professional,â you made your best attempt to smile.Â
âItâs a real pain in the ass to keep things professional when youâre in love with someone,â he choked back tears and his hands shook as he held your face tenderly in his hands.Â
âErik Lehnsherr,â you gave him a sloppy grin, âare you gonna kiss me or not?âÂ
You got your answer as he pressed a quick, wanting kiss to your lips.Â
âThose same hands and arms that have brought empires to their knees are the same ones that hold me with a tenderness of which I do not deserve.âÂ
It was always one thing after another. It had been one of those weeks where there simply wasnât enough time in the day to finish everything you needed to do. People always told you it was okay to say no once in a while, yet they were the same ones who asked you to do it in the first place.Â
All the research, errands,, cooking, and cleaning that had piled itself upon you began to take a toll on your body. One more thing to finish and Iâll be that much closer to being done, you thought to yourself as you brushed a stray hair away from your vision.Â
After everything was completed you could rest, Loki would be home, and you would do some serious vegetating this weekend. The weather had just begun to cool down so maybe a spontaneous pumpkin patch trip would happen.Â
Taking off your blue-light glasses, you rubbed your eyes and held your shoulders as a shiver spread over your body.Â
âIs it freezing in here or is it just me?â you asked through chattering teeth.Â
âDefinitely just you,â Clint remarked as he strolled past giving you a playful whack on the head.Â
âHey, watch it!â shooting him an unamused glance you brought your knees to your chest, âmy head is killing me.âÂ
âMaybe if youâd take a rest once in a while your body wouldnât be screaming at you to take care of it,â Clint plopped down on the couch and reached for the remote.Â
You were deaf to Clintâs comment, you missed Loki and you felt terrible. Standing up, you started toward your room to grab a blanket when a wave of nausea washed over you. You must have paused because Clintâs eyes darted to your still figure.Â
You felt the blood rush from your face and the world around you felt silently mute. Clint jumped from his spot on the couch and in two bounds had you in his arms before you hit the hard ground.Â
âEasy there Y/N,â he huffed as he lifted you up in his arms. He could feel your unnatural body heat radiating towards him, you sure did a number on yourself. Hopefully Loki didnât get back until you snapped out of this.Â
As you lay in your bed, your felt as if your body was shaking violently from the fever. For a few minutes you were trying to find any bit of warmth under the covers you could possibly get as well as stop your teeth from chattering. Then you would become so hot you found yourself peeling all of the layers off.Â
You must have fallen into a dark, yet fitful sleep because you woke up to feel the mattress space beside you dip under the weight of an individual. You cracked your eyes open and saw Loki, only he was spinning, and your head throbbed.Â
âLoki?â you croaked out not even knowing if you spoke aloud or not.Â
âSomeone told me my girl wasnât feeling so good,â his velvet voice drew your consciousness to where he was.Â
âI missed...â your voice trailed off as your eyelids grew heavy. You felt a cool, heavy hand rest on your forehead as you drifted back into the darkness.Â
Loki pressed a kiss to your burning temples, fixed your pillows, and closed the curtains. Before leaving the room, he took one last look at you, if he could take your suffering he would in a heartbeat. He didnât know what it was like to be sick but you could hardly raise your head so it must be bad.Â
The next time you woke up you weren't sure if you had slept for three hours or three days. It was nighttime and it was raining, you could see the moonlight peeping from under the curtains and the sound of rain filled the quiet room.Â
Despite your mouth being as dry as a cotton ball, your headache was gone but the fever still remained. The mattress dipped beside you again and you brought your glassy eyes to meet Lokiâs. The mattress on either side of you sunk down as Lokiâs arms columned themselves next to you. His own green eyes bore into your own Y/E/C, you could feel his cool breath kissing the tip of your nose.Â
âYouâre back early,â you said weakly with a little smile.Â
âI missed you too much to stay away any longer,â tenderly, he ran his finger through the roots of your hair.Â
You took his straying hand and held it to your chest so he could feel your heartbeat. The small gesture brought a sad smile to his thin lips.Â
Your eyes studied the features of his face intently. What should have been familiar territory now seemed foreign and unexplored. There were new lines and small nicks you had never realized or seen before. There was a time where you could have said you knew the intricate interworking of this manâs mind and heart, but now you felt as if he had reached out to new places.Â
âDonât think like that,â Lokiâs voice brought you out from your thoughts. He didnât need to read your mind; he could hear your thoughts by reading your eyes.Â
âI miss us, I miss you, I miss the past,â you voice broke out from a sob. You weren't sure if it was the exhaustion or sickness talking but the longing for the past rested heavy on your chest.Â
âI know... I know,â Loki whispered.Â
âYou don't have to understand me Loki, I just want you to love me,â this was your prayer, like a mantra it escaped your lips.Â
Lokiâs lips ghosted over your own and then pressed against them. It was an almost bitter kiss filled with something youâd never tasted before.Â
âIf I do anything, live for anything...,â knuckles graced gently across your jawline, âit will be for you my darling, my love.âÂ

SundayÂ
Loki stirred under the sheets as he came into consciousness. A tangle of limbs and the feeling of hot, sleepy breaths blew in his face. Sundays were for sleeping in for the little Odinson family.Â
The warm, little body of his three year old son snuggled closer into Lokiâs chest. Loki shifted his face upwards to avoid a mouthful of hair, despite Lokiâs onyx locks, Y/S/N still had your hair color.Â
Lokiâs arm tightened beneath and around Y/S/N as the other spread across him and onto you. It was if the three bodies were made to fit into one another. You faced Loki and Y/S/N with one arm shoved under your pillow and the other resting on Y/S/N tummy.Â
âGâmorning my love,â Loki whispered in that hoarse morning voice that you loved.Â
âMprhgph,â you groaned as you pressed a light kiss to your sonâs forehead, âis it morning already?âÂ
âActually,â Loki leaned back to look at the alarm clock, âitâs 12:15.âÂ
â12:15!â you bolted up, scrambled over Loki and clawed around for a slightly clean t-shirt.Â
A baby yawn could be heard from the bed, scrambling back over Loki with no thought to his discomfort you collected your baby boy in your arms.Â
âSomeoneâs not gonna sleep tonight,â you cooed as you rubbed your nose affectionately against his tiny one.Â
Loki looked at the scene in silent pride. With the light streaming in past the blinds illuminating the mother of his child and his son giggling happily, he couldnât help but get a little choked up.Â
âBreakfast?â Loki asked as he pressed a kiss to the side of your temple.
âOh yeah,â you agreed whole-heartedly.Â
MondayÂ
âJust a few more and we can go,â you insisted as you eyed up your target.Â
Loki groaned impatiently as he slouched against the wall of the training room, âbut I wanna go hooomme,â he whined.Â
With a somersault and a few flicks of the wrist, you expertly hit the targets with your kunai knives.Â
âPerfect, as usual,â you flashed a wink at your brooding husband as you began to unwrap your hands.Â
âPlease. I am begging you. I want to get home to my son.âÂ
âYour son huh?â you grinned, âitâs kind of funny how he turns into my son as soon as he starts crying in the middle of the night.âÂ
âI thought you enjoyed doing that,â Loki sassed as he inspected his flawless fingernails.Â
Before he knew what had happened, your leg came quickly in contact with his and swiped him off his feet and onto his back.Â
âYou thought wrong Odinson,â you murmured dangerously into his ear.Â
In one quick move, Loki rolled out from under you and had you thrown over his shoulder. A genuinely happy laugh escaped your lips as you tried to straighten your back out.Â
âYouâre crazy you know that right?â you giggled.Â
âCrazy in love with you that is,â Loki huffed tiredly. You didnât miss the hint of playfulness laced in his voice.Â
TuesdayÂ
âCome on Y/S/N I need you to work with me here not against me,â Loki pleaded desperately to the child whose hands seem to find everything they shouldnât have.Â
Loki was leaving soon for an all day mission so making you a surprise breakfast in bed was his way of making up for it. But Y/S/N had other plans in mind. Loki thought nothing of Y/S/N hugging tightly onto his leg as he fried eggs but then he felt a tugging.Â
âHey cut it out youâre gonna make me drop something!â Loki practically screeched.Â
Y/S/N had a tight grip on the waistband of Lokiâs sweatpants and they were dangerously low. Now with both hands tugging on the band and both feet pushed up against the back of his legs, Y/S/N played relentlessly with his father.
Snapping a quick picture on your phone you smiled at the lively scene in front of you. So much energy for such a little kid, you shook your head as you peeled him off of Loki.Â
Letting Y/S/N crawl up onto your back you stood as tall as you could for a kiss from the cook, âthat smells amazing Lok.âÂ
âI do what I can under such circumstances,â Loki joked as he pecked your lips again.Â
Ouch. Y/S/Nâs fingers were now tangled in your hair.Â
âWhat time do you get back tonight?âÂ
âI really canât say. Itâll probably be pretty late so donât wait up,â Loki slide the eggs onto plates.Â
âI wish I could go too,â you said softly, âwe havenât been on a mission together ever since this little dude came along.âÂ
âWeâve talked about this Y/N,â Loki said firm voice. Lifting your chin gently, Loki pressed a deep kiss to your pouting lips, âboth of us canât go so thatâs why we rotate missions.âÂ
âMe me me!â a little voice shouted out from behind your head.Â
âYou you you!â Loki said with a laugh as kissed his son.
âStay safe out there husband,â you said sternly but with love.Â
âDoesnât look like I have any choice now does it?â Loki smirked as he caught you up in his arms.Â
WednesdayÂ
It was 2:30 AM and you were still awake. You let Y/S/N sleep with you in the âbig bedâ since Loki hadnât come home yet. Y/S/N, now wrapped in a warm, fluffy blanket was curled up on your lap with his head pressed against your chest. Â
You knew you should be getting some sleep so you could take care of any of Lokiâs minor injures when he got back, but sleep was evading you to the point where night slipped into a new morning.Â
The front door could be heard opening and a thud of equipment could be heard from the living room. Loki sighed when he saw the lamplight from the room still on.Â
âYou still up?â Loki whispered as your eyes met his.Â
âCouldnât sleep without you,â you murmured sleepily.Â
âHere let me take him,â with tired arms, Loki took the bundle of blankets out of your arms and tucked him into the bed.Â
Standing up from the chair your jumped into Lokiâs arms and wrapped your arms around his neck and your legs around his waist. He smelled like smoke, metal and blood.Â
âThis is the last time,â you mumbled as you buried your face into his neck.Â
âYou say that every time,â Loki breathed as he nipped at your neck and pressed your back against the door.Â
âI know, but you always come back to me.âÂ
ThursdayÂ
Loki stretched out on the floor in front of the couch. You always asked him why he didnât just lie on the couch but he would just shrug his shoulders and continue lying on the carpet.Â
Lokiâs eyes fluttered open and a smile across his face when he felt it. Tiny, little lips pressed against his own from above his head. Y/S/N fingerâs brushed against Lokiâs jawline to keep balance as he crouched above his daddyâs head.Â
âWhat do we have here?â Loki asked good-naturedly as his son held out his favorite teddy bear.Â
âBeary!â the kid squealed as he held out his most prized possession.Â
âAh Beary,â Loki let out a little laugh, âI do think weâve met before!âÂ
âUp up!â Y/S/N chanted as pointed to the couch.Â
âOnly for you kiddo,â Loki sighed as he picked up Y/S/N and settled himself on the couch.Â
Loki grabbed Beary and sandwiched Y/S/N between himself and the stuffed animal. Before long, all were asleep and the stuffed bear ended up on the ground. This is just what he needed after a hard mission. Â Â
âLoki what the hell!?â your voice broke into Lokiâs dream and into reality.Â
âOh shit!â jumping off the couch at lightening speed Loki scooped up Y/S/N.Â
He must have gotten into the equipment bag because the floor was littered with knives and small weapons.Â
âHow did that bag get out here?â you yelled as you hurriedly packed everything up.Â
âIâm sorry I didnât even realize it was out,â Loki pressed Y/S/N head to his chest and kissed the top of his head who in turn tried to squirm out of his hold.
âHeâs definitely his parentâs son,â you pointed out, âhe went straight for the knives.âÂ
FridayÂ
You held your stomach in laughter at the sight in front of you. You decided your little family needed a family photo so Loki had been getting his hair ready. Apparently Y/S/N decided to help as well. Loki had bent down for Y/S/N to it up resulting in a ponytail hanging in front of his face.Â
âNo itâs a good look,â you gasped for air at the unamused look on Lokiâs face.Â
âI donât see why we have to take a picture,â Loki grumbled as he fixed his hair when Y/S/N wasnât looking.Â
âItâs perfect,â Loki choked out as he held the photo in his hands.Â
The shot was of Loki pressing a kiss to your forehead as you kissed Y/S/Nâs cheek who was squished between you and him.Â
âIt really is,â you sighed in contentment as you gazed at the picture.Â
âAh, Iâm so happy,â Loki breathed out on the ride home.Â
You grabbed the hand that wasnât on the wheel and kissed the back of it, âthank you.â
âFor what?âÂ
âYouâre the reason weâre happy, itâs all because of you Loki Odinson.âÂ
Friday nights were for partying. Loki really needed to let off some steam so you held off on the alcohol so you could take him home. As you crawled into bed last night you helped Loki finish taking off his tie.Â
With flushed cheeks and wavering eyes Loki stared deeply as you helped him unbutton his shirt, âY/N youâre beautiful, can I marry you?â *hic*
âI wanna marry you, please?â *hic*
You let your index finger brush over his lips, âWeâve been married for 2 years with a son, silly.âÂ
âI wanna marry you again,â Loki grinned.Â
âLetâs see how you feel tomorrow morning love,â you patted his cheek and turned off the light.Â
SaturdayÂ
Saturdayâs were for cartoons and cereal.Â
Y/S/N sat on Lokiâs lap in his bear onesie as Loki shoveled spoonfulâs of cereal into his mouth while he read a book. Saturdays were the best. As Y/S/N watched Scooby Doo with sleepy eyes and a mouthful of cereal, Loki read, and you lay on your stomach next to them more enthralled in the show than your son.Â
You pulled Y/S/N into your lap as you sat up.Â
âWe should have another,â Loki rambled lazily.Â
You covered Y/S/Nâs ears who could still totally hear what was being said, â âfraid one is enough.â
