It had been one of those nights where a group of friends and you ended up back at Taron’s loft to gather yourselves and call it a night. It had been such a long time since you were all able to get together and actually hang out. A few drinks later and everyone was already heading back home with the exception of you and another close friend.
How you guys managed to let time fly by it was beyond you but you couldn’t deny that you were really enjoying spending more time with your best friends.
“Okay it’s time I head home, it’s almost four in the morning!” Your friend said as she grabbed her purse and finished up the last bit of her beer.
“Me too. I have a long drive home.” You lived about a half hour from his place and to be honest last you wanted was to drive all the way back at such a late hour.
“Stay...” Taron whispered when your other friend disappeared into the kitchen to throw away her empty bottle. It had taken you by surprise that he was offering but also that it seemed to be like he knew exactly what was on your mind. “It’s a long drive and I’d be worried to let you go all the way back this late.” His worry was sincere and last you wanted was to drive anywhere. “I’ll take the couch and you will sleep in my room.” He interrupted your thoughts when you didn’t give him a reply. Looking over at him you nodded and gave a small smile, “I will under one condition, I get the couch and you get the bed. I wouldn’t feel good taking your comfortable bed.”
You knew it was a very nice bed when he took you to shop around for things for his loft. It had been a fun day that when it was almost over you both had forgotten the most important thing, the bed. It happened last minute but with his status, you were able to get the bed sent in time for him to be able to sleep on something that wasn’t going to be the floor of your apartment on the other side of town.
He simply smirked and nodded but you knew well he wasn’t ever going to allow that, it would be worth the try though. As soon as you both said goodbye to your friend you both made your way into his bedroom where you sat on the bed and he walked into his closet to retrieve one of his shorts and a shirt for you to change into and be cozier for the night.
“I had a lot of fun tonight.” You say as you walk out of the bathroom in his clothes. They hung on you a bit too big but you didn’t mind it. “You have to stop being away for so long from us, the little people.” Giggling at your words you pulled back the blankets from his bed and laid down next to him. He had already laid down on the other side over the blankets while he waited for you to come back out. Just like you, he only had a few drinks in comparison to everyone else so he was just a little tipsy which you didn’t mind. No matter what he was still a joy to be around.
“I know... I tend to take too long to come back around but that just makes the heart fonder, right? I can tell you missed me.” He nudged your side and in responses, you rolled your eyes. He wasn’t wrong though you did, in fact, miss him but you’d never admit it. You just couldn’t have that going to his head, you’d never hear the end of it.
The night seemed to have escaped from you guys before you were even able to realize it. You had passed out and the last thing you remember talking about was how much he wished he could stay home and be with the family. You visited them every chance you could and checked up on his sisters just to make sure they were doing well in school and keep him updated. You always enjoyed hanging out with them because with six years of knowing them and counting it felt like you were part of their family as well. The girls loved playing around with you after school and Taron’s mom was always excited to see that you were doing well she knew that you were one to get caught up in work that you’d more than likely forget to eat for a whole day. At least when you were over she could feed you a good meal.
You could feel the sunlight starting to brighten Taron’s room and it was then that you felt this familiar warmth enveloping your body. Taron had fallen asleep next to you with an arm draped around your waist keeping you tight against his chest. You managed to fight the sleepiness and finally focused your gaze on his sleeping face. He was so relaxed and seemed to calm that last you wanted was to disturb him. You knew how much he needed to sleep with so many late nights he would spend filming a scene over and over again. A smile tugged at your lips when he said, “You’re staring.” He hadn’t opened his eyes just yet but he knew exactly what you had been doing. Having fallen asleep like this had happened one other time back in your apartment but you hadn’t minded back then and most certainly didn’t mind it now. You felt safe in his arms and being around him in general that you started to wonder if you were simply growing accustomed to always being with him or was this something more.
“Breakfast?” He mumbled again distracting you from your thoughts. Once you looked up you were met with those green hues memorizing your every feature and noticed he hadn’t bothered to move away or even let you go.
