3D Hypercraft

For many people, the uncertainty surrounding coronavirus is one of the hardest thing to handle. We still don’t know exactly how we’ll be impacted, how long this may last, or how bad things can get. The current COVID-19 pandemic has intensified uncertainty over the economy, employment, finances, relationships, and of course, physical and mental health. As human being we want to feel safe and have a sense of control over our lives and mental well-being.

So, in times of crisis when feelings of fear and anxiety are more prevalent, I wanted to create a product that would diminish these emotions and bring the wearer a sense of serenity and comfort.

For design inspiration I was looking for to create a sense of enveloping and concentrate around “emotional maximalism” which is about fabrics that feel good on skin, cocooning shape with soft quilting volumes that bring duvet-like warmth and cosiness, and prints that will boost the spirit.

To make sure people’s feeling for garment will last I wanted to integrate emotional aspect into design.

It takes the form of a digital platform that enables customers to submit own print design. Here I made a sketch of the online editor to explain how it could work. First we can select a needed size and style we like

When a seamless print is selected, we can then scale it or rotate and the picture quality indicator let us know if the quality still good enough to be printed.

After that we can choose prints from the existing library or upload own seamless print design or graphic, and pick a background color if we want.

Then we can select a background color from the color pallet and adjust an opacity.

If we want to place just a graphic we should click Remove tiling button. Then we can scale, rotate and change graphic placement by dragging it to the needed part of the garment.

And if we satisfied with the result we can finish with designing part and place the order.
