Her words ring true. To someone like him, it was easy to tell that there was something special about her. Something otherwordly. Still, he wouldn’t be Alucard if he didn’t take the chance to challenge such a claim. If only to spite that which he’d once revered.

As to be expected….

He freezes on his tracks, clicks his tongue before he turns around and slowly inches towards the edge of the roof and peeks.

Rather than greeting he gives a look at the surroundings. He saw it happening of course, it’s no surprise but it really is quite a sight. Ogata sits up, hand pressed on his head and a slight smirk climbs up his lips.

“ Quite the mess you’ve made there. “

Ah.. What a marvelous specimen this man was. Alucard had only laid eyes on him but for a few seconds, but he could already see the potential within him. Though his immediate decision to try and flee prevented this from being the ideal situation Alucard sought. Well, still far better than the pile of corpses lying beneath him.

Pure, endless malice. If the inside of that elevator could be described in any way, that would be it. Had anyone else been in that enclosed space with the two, then.. Well, it was hard to imagine any ordinary being who could. Their heart would have likely been crushed under the sheer weight of the darkness that surrounded them. A death induced by fear. Despite the fact that there were simply two bodies simply standing there, side by side..

On this night, the count found solace in solitude. His search had once again yielded him with naught but disappointment. Disappointment and frustration. Perhaps it was the fact that he’d now come to expect it, but it didn’t anger him as much as it had before. Maybe.. this was just the card he’d been dealt. Even in his current state.. Even when the monster that he was had been diminished to such a pathetic state.. Aah, how frustrating it was to encounter humans as frail as these. No, they were barely even human. They were but insects, crawling along the ground. Pests that he gladly stepped on before wiping them away from his memory.

This island was infested with insects.

A bitter laugh escaped his lips as he reclined in his seat. Why he’d even bothered setting foot in a bar of all places was beyond him. Thankfully, it was hardly crowded. As a matter of fact, it wasn’t even open. He’d barged in without permission and simply sat there in thought. A pathetic sight, even he had to admit. Even without touching a single bitter of liquor, his visage was no better than a slum drunk lamenting his pathetic past and yearning.. Yearning for ‘freedom’.
