Beat the Best!

Hey, guys. I… I’ve sent in a drop request for Travis. And I don’t plan on coming back to him. I just can’t do it, anymore. I can’t keep writing him. I can’t keep pushing through the pressure to entertain, and I can’t keep falling into muse sync with a guy whose mental hang-ups are even worse than mine. 

Not even Tiger Shark can motivate me, nowadays. And if that’s the case… then it’s time for the No More Hero to be No More.

I hate doing this, but I have to put myself before my need to make other people’s days, and before the feelings of fictional characters who’ll be heartbroken at Travis’s departure. It’s hard… it’s so fucking hard. I’m saying goodbye to a part of myself. I’m saying goodbye to a muse over six years in the making, one that gave me so many friends and let me change lives. I’m saying goodbye to the best thing I’ve ever created. 

I’m moving on. 

So, what’s going to happen IC? 

Travis, being meta-aware and all, will have seen this coming. Travis, being the man he is, will push aside his fears and regrets so he can play the hero one last time. If your muse was close to Travis, they’ll be getting a farewell message on their phone— a dramatic, heartfelt monologue thanking them for everything, pushing them forward, etc. The closer the muse, the longer the speech. 

I’m so, so sorry… and I’m even more grateful for everyone. Everyone who followed and supported me on this wild ride. Everyone who wrote with Travis and helped him to grow into something canon couldn’t dream of. Everyone who helped ME grow, as both a writer and a person. You’ve given me memories I can never forget, and for that, I say thanks. I love you. Be good people.

long story short: i’m sick with some sort of vile cough. i don’t think i have covid-19, but i know that since i’m otherwise sick i’m at a higher risk to contract it and can put other people at risk. my job is not providing paid sick leave during this time, they are still penalizing absences despite the state ordering against it, and they are not abiding by the six-feet rule; the woman who works in my booth with me is severely immunocompromised and i could put her in extreme danger, and my company does not care about any of it.

i have to stay home for my safety and that of others; i will have april’s bills coming in; i have no food and cannot venture anywhere for food, not only because of social distancing reasons, but because i live at least four miles from the closest grocery store, and do not drive. i would like to be able to raise some money to make a decent order on instacart and also make sure i can handle upcoming expenses.
