New School Year, New Start!
Itâs been a bit of a wobbly year in the Drama Department with our Head of Department being injured and away for quite a while, but now the new school year is arriving and that can only mean one thing - a fresh start!
Congratulations to our A-Level & GCSE
Students - the first to sit the new more challenging exam components (and the first GCSE to complete a written examination at the end of the course).
At A-Level We gained
75% A-C
100% A-D
And at GCSE in the new 9-1 system we achieved 52% 8-4, and 48% 3-U.
As always the results, their break downs and the returning of the written exam papers will inform us as we plan and teach going forward, and we are looking forward to attending the training provided by the Exam Board this year to help us to support our students at both GCSE and A-Level in the 2018-2019 school year.
We have a lot of exciting extra curricular performances coming up this year with both TAG (Tallis Actors Guild - our professional Theatre Company which is invitation only to join) and the #TallisDrama Company which will be open to all students in Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12. Keep an ear out in assembly and when in your drama classes for more information on these!
We wish you all a successful year at Tallis, and we look forward to sharing your success here on our Tallis Drama Studio Tumblr.
