Congratulations my loves! So excited for both of you! 

Okay so hi everyone! I’m putting this out here as a bit of a water tester as it were… but…. I got some pretty awesome new board games and was wondering if anyone would be interested in maybe like a board game night? Could even get some hot cocoa or something together and have a nice get together! And we could put together like a tournament and everything! I’ve got plenty of games we can try! Some more complex than others and some more combative or co-operative! I think it could be a lot of fun!

Here for it! Who doesn’t love a good game night, am  I right? What board games did you get? 

Yeah Portland could have a snow town within the city. Maybe then it’d learn more on how to deal with snow when it sticks to the ground. But eh. We’re safe, or at least I think so. James is stuck at work for at least a week and I’m being pissy about him being stuck at work for that long. What about you guys?

Aw boooo. I hate that for you both. Well, Sadie enjoyed the crap out of the storm. Aidan was worried about the bakery and and his staff and their wellbeing so we worked on that to make sure things remained closed when it was too dangerous. And I did some working from home. We built a snow fam lol 

Amber: Now we are lol it was on my to-do list for closer to the date but this false alarm made us pull together a checklist and get it together. A lavender soak sounds really nice though. I wonder if I can pull Miguel away from work here and there to enjoy some baths with me.

“Thanks, Talia. It’s… hard to say at this point, but if things can be worked out, then I’ll be grateful. Relieved and grateful.”

Talking about about the wedding was an easier and lighter subject and Lisa was happy to move away from the heavier talk. Cracking a light smile, she chuckled, “‘Adulting’? That’s the word now, right? Fun stuff.” While enjoying the massage chair, Lisa said, “Allison’s staying involved in music and dance, but she’s become highly interested in astronomy and anything that has to do with space. Miguel got her a telescope for Christmas and more and more of the decor in her room has looked like a corner of the galaxy.”

Talia nodded. She wanted nothing but good things for her friend so she crossed her fingers and held them up with a tiny grin, letting Lisa know she’d be rooting for her and her soon to be wife. 

“That would be the word.” She chuckled and listened as Lisa spoke about Allison. “That sounds adorable and reminds me of this cute little tent I saw in the shape of a rocket ship. If I see it again, I’ll pick it up for her.” Talia grinned and sat up the moment her massage chair turned off. “Okay. That was delightful. Feeling more relaxed already.”

excuse you where have you been all my life? now I want bacon. 

“I hadn’t thought that far ahead yet, but I haven’t taken her to Disney yet, and she’s the perfect age for it,” Aidan smiled, “Plus I think that she’s tall enough to go on all the rides, so it would be a lot of fun for all of us.” 

Talia couldn’t help but beam. It just felt like the perfect little vacation for the three of them to bond a little more and Aidan was right; Sadie needed something where she felt included before they went off on their honeymoon. “This is going to be so much fun. I haven’t been to Disney in years! Oh and Sadie will be over the moon! we should pack her things and surprise her the day of like ‘surprise! we’re going away for a couple of days!’. 

We’ll have to the when things warm up again! Same here, but I’m with you! As much as I was looking forward to it, I do miss being able to actually do things. Thank you! How are things going with you?

Exactly. I’ve always been a huge fan of the snow but this is just insane ll. Not bad. ‘ve been trying to work on some projects and catching up on television actually. I hardly get the chance to do that lately. Any recs? 

Miguel: I know. But if she's going to try and sabotage your happiness, then you need to make sure that you do what's right for you

Amber: Um... all of the lavender, CBD and anything else calming and legal for Miguel and me? I've been having Braxton Hicks and the first time it happened, we thought it was the real deal. Ughh

ohhh burn! Hear that mayor? Oh damn. I’m sorry. ugh. How can I cheer you up? We’re okay. Sadie loves the snow but I think even she will get tired of it by the end of this. Aidan is having a hard time coping with not being able to get to the bakery right now but I think he’ll be okay. I’m just working on some projects and and dreaming about the flip once the roads clear. 

Miguel: Well, hopefully that will help her with mellowing out. I still can't believe that she really didn't want to come to your wedding.

“How about you be the detective and then just tell me what you figure out,” Aidan chuckled, still seeing TikTok as more Tali’s domain.  “We do, though I don’t know if Sadie has told you that she wants to come yet, so I was thinking of maybe doing a trip with her and then just having her stay with my parents after, and then doing our own thing. I don’t want her to feel left out since she’s really excited to have you here.” 

Talia laughed at Aidan’s words. She loved how well they worked together, embracing even the slightest differences. She beamed at the idea of taking Sadie on some sort of mini moon and smiled widely. “Oh my God, I think that would be so good for her.” Anything to help her with this transition. “No, I absolutely agree. Where were you thinking? Disney?” 

Amber: Thank you so much, Tali. You're right, about all of that. And I think that'll be really good for me to do once I get to that point. For now though I am going to stick to remembering to take things one step at a time. And my step right now is taking care of myself so these babies are born healthy & so I can be present for my family that's already here.

Tali: That's my bestie! I'm so proud of you.

Saturdays are always good for me ! We’ll bring the hubbies some food home too lol 

“Yeah… I mean, there’s a share of pros of course. The cons are that I know Karina fairly well, which means I know that she’s prone to immature behavior. That in itself splinters into a variety of issues for me wanting to know that I can rely on her, not just for parenting matters with Allison but us being able to carry a lasting and healthy relationship. That’s a large part of why we broke up before. Our personalities didn’t make us the most compatible couple. I’ve been focused, driven and am generally more serious. She’s more free-spirited and prone to more childish tendencies. For a while I think we thought that we would balance each other out, or the old ‘opposites attract’ but honestly, I’ve found from both direct and indirect experience that that phrase doesn’t realistically work.” She sighed, ready to leave her doubts behind, not because she had overcome them but she wasn’t exactly relaxed while discussing it.

Moving away from the discussion of her match concerns, Lisa was happy to hear Talia accept her request for her to be her matron of honor. She softly smiled, “I’m glad, and thank you in advance. It’ll mean a lot to have you standing up there with me.”

Talia nodded, agreeing with Lisa’s observations. The idea of opposites attracting did sound nice on paper but romanticizing it without seriously considering potential and obvious problems wouldn’t be fair to either of them. “I understand where you’re coming from and you have every right to feel that way. Perhaps things will be different now or maybe you can work at actually balancing each other out whereas maybe in the past your match was too immature or to even attempt it? I don’t know, I feel like if there is genuine care there, anything can be accomplished.” 

“It means a lot to me that you asked. I’m really glad we’re getting around to do stuff like this. I’ve missed you so much. Being an adult really isn’t the business, huh?” She chuckled and leaned back onto her chair. So tell me about Allison. What is she into now?” 

I… Tali…just… what.

lol! There’s enough snow out to make an entire village out of it, I swear. How are you guys holding up? Do you need anything?
