we're septum and milk bread. pls use they/them pronouns for both of us. this blog is gonna be us posting our unpopular opinions about 5 seconds of summer, their solos, their fandom, them as people if we're being real and who they associate with etc because we have a LOT of shit to say and our gripes with it etc. we feel as if this fandom has a lot of issues in terms of misogyny, racism, dickriding (like not holding their faves accountable) and we're not doing this on our mains as we've seen multiple instances of people doing the absolute most and refusing to be respectful and sending witchhunts to people who share their opinions. pls dont hack us. also send asks.

yeah as previously mentioned, crystal is such a momager. whether she's utilizing her children as a marketing tool or making every little achievement 5sos has as a band about HERSELF and everything she has going on (which is nothing). the way in which she behaves with fans as well is so strange, shes not able to take criticism about anything pertaining to her character and often attacks fans if she even feels the slightest bit offended.

crystal as a person is already greatly discussed within the 5sos fandom and it irritates me that more people don't talk about her more. her actions are always waved off as something of the past yet, everything she's been rightfully grilled about are things shes never apologized for or explained formally. furthermore, her weird behavior is evident even in 2026 so we're just gonna go down the list of shit we've seen lmao

1: probably the least problematic thing shes done but i wanted to add LMAO i was scrolling on my timeline maybe this week or last week?? very recently i know it was in july and i saw someone post a screenshot about how she liked a video they made in 2023 about the fucking bali trip?? she lowkey had to search for that shit tiktok doesnt even put videos from like a month ago on your fyp at times.

as old as this video was, it wasnt as if jeffree star just became a horrible person as soon as people cancelled him, no, it just goes to show that the people she hangs around with are definitely shadows of her and her own values. its easy to assume maybe she's changed but her actions have shown no kind of growth or anything.

on another topic of weird shit the 5sos fandom does, the way everyone is sooo infatuated with muke kids is actually so weird and gross LMAO. mind you these children are little babies that're still developing and have a right to their privacy.

why do people feel like they're entitled to seeing these children and or sepculating about them. this is more in reference to luke's kid than anything but on the topic of lua & sadie (i honestly hate that we even know their names but ill get into that.) youre all especially weird about THEM. THESE KIDS DONT KNOW YOU!!

youre not a family friend you are a FAN of their father's work and thats it. please stop talking so casually about these children, in my opinion its weird so much emphasis is put on them to begin with.

5sos as a band has been around for 15 years yet for some reason with this new tour i feel as though the nostalgia baiting has gotten even WORSE. im not familiar with how the concerts for other albums went, for example, 5sos5 however, i'm SO sure it was not treated the way eas is currently being treated.

its been over a decade but in all honesty, 5sos as a band is still evolving (hehe.) i have no idea why they keep catering to fans who are so blinded by nostalgia. my issues with this started wth the bullshit ass secret song options that basically spammed try hard or any other song from the self-titled era and then looped it in with newer, arguably better songs.

theres nothing wrong with having a little fun with your fandom but the constant reminiscing just makes me a little annoyed because 5sos is much more than the work they did in like 2015-2014. and if they keep reducing themselves to that band that sings the underwear song, i don't think they're ever gonna be able to branch out.

i hate how people seem to romanticize luke's journey while healing from substance abuse especially pertaining to his relationship with sierra. it makes me so uncomfortable how people portray it as though she "saved him" when reality, he grew as a person and overcame his addiction.

it's this strange idolization of people who shouldn't be put on a pedestal. sierra is already another can of worms but the way that fans make it seem like shes luke's lifeline is so so so soooo strange to me.

it also isn't the cute little dynamic that they think it is, it just makes their relationship out to be unhealthy and very co-dependent ( the jury's still out on that one.)

OOOO DELVING INTO ACTUAL UNPOPULAR OPINION TERRITORY but someone pls tell me how the joke in the fandom is going to be that ashton and calum are the cheaters yada yada yada yada theyre horrible men or whatnot and then we're not gonna give michael and luke the same equal treatment/reputation?? not saying we have to constantly shit on any of them NOOO THATS NOT WHAT IM SAYING i dont want them to be shit on but like bruuuuhhh all these guys been friends for the past 15+ years yall dont think luke and michael might have learned some tips and tricks in that timeframe. like its an open fucking secret ashton and calum have had multiple girlfriends throughout their time in the band or whatnot. but although i cant speak much about michael wasn't luke like fwb with sierra while with arzaylea correct me if im wrong I could make a whole post about how i feel like you guys gotta stop blaming arzaylea for everything wrong in luke's life too. yeah she was a shit person a bitch BUT HE'S THE MAN WITH FREE WILL AT THE END OF THE DAY SHE'S NOT LIKE GEPPETTO MOVING PINOCCHIO'S STRINGS!! YOU CAN BE INFLUENCED BY SOMEONE BUT IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO SOMETHING THATS ON YOU GANG

this is some old ass tea but it's been bothering us for a while like the way this fandom babies these men is crazyy. like all 3 of them condone ashton and calum's cheating and yet we're all just assuming the cheating doesn't extend to all of them? lmao?

love 5sos but these 4 men are very questionable as talented and outgoing as they are. this fandom would def benefit from seeing all sides of the situation instead of immediately jumping to 5sos's defense (which they dont need because they're grown-ass men who can handle their own shit.)

while were at it too please stop harrassing the women that are exes of 5sos??? i hate how people keep mentioning calum under every post of almondmilkhunni's lmao

one of the more prevalent issues within this fandom is its very subtle racism toward black fans as well as other poc within the fandom. being a black fan in any fandom that has predominantly white fans is insanely difficult and the 5sos fandom is included within that. it feels as though black fans are never represented within this fandom and are actively shunned and ignored from the narrative.

it may not seem like an issue to nb fans, but it ranges from minuscule things such as not making your fanfics race neutral to attacking black fans who abstain from the normal "safe" opinion within the fandom. rather than address the racism within the fandom as well, non black fans ignore it and diminish the impact of these things.

another huge example of my point comes from a controversy 5sos got into a while back around march. when the band was outed for engaging with a racist fan account in 2011, black fans asked them to speak out against it as they felt as though 5sos's stance against discrimination lost it's nuance as they were engaging with perpetrators of this racism.

and instead f stepping back and letting black fans speak out about how they feel, various fans watered down the experience and shared their opinions on the situation, a situation that did not personally affect them or warrant their response. even once the situation blew over (with no real statement put out by 5sos except for them unfollowing the account) i saw later accounts make it seem as though the drama was a blip and not a serious issue for a band that prides itself on being inclusive.
