    “ How come no one ever uses the items that are provided? ” Questions the boy robot, wondrously looking over a Poke Ball with all the intrigue you might expect from a soul such as his. A bit more investigating the contraption, before his blue eyes turn to face Joker properly.

    “ I mean, they’re given out for free, but all you ever see anyone do is fight one-on-one, with just the things they brought with them. I don’t get it? ” He pauses, looking down at the floor with a slightly confused pout.

    “ It kinda makes it seem like a less serious fight with all of them, right? Maybe that’s why I prefer it…? ”

  —The question earned a raised eyebrow from the Phantom Thief, but not in a bad way. The question just got his interest as well. There was a brief bout of silence as Joker made his way over to inspect the device himself. Gray eyes peered from behind his mask, calculating, before a small smirk took over his features instead.

  “Makes it less fair, I’d say.” His voice was confident, but it didn’t sound like he was scolding Rock, at least.

  A blur of black suddenly appeared on Joker’s shoulder, someone having clearly been listening in and wanting to give his two cents on the matter. Morgana looked a little more confused by Rock’s words, and made it known accordingly.

“ Haha - Not at all, Joker. Your friends certainly are energetic, but… er, it’s nothing we’re not already used to. ” And regardless of the tone, that wasn’t something Euden said with any disdain. True, things didn’t always go smoothly with every new resident, but all the same, he had some good people here. He was happy to call them his friends.

“ If anything, it’s the least I could do for all you’ve done to help us grow accustomed with these jails, and save Emile. It certainly hasn’t been easy… ” Even if they had been a particularly rowdy bunch anyhow, that wouldn’t have made a difference. These bonds of friendship he could forge between worlds were the gleam of light amidst these otherwise disastrous otherworldly threats. It was true that Euden’s mind was mostly on his twisted brother and how he needs to be stopped… but all the same, he valued friendships such as these.

“ Queen, huh? You know, while it’s for the best that you didn’t all come here at once, it really is too bad we won’t get to meet the other Phantom Thieves. It must be difficult not having your full team to fight alongside you… heh, though Mona, Panther, and Sophie seem to be working for you just fine. ”

“ If you’d be willing, I’d like to hear more about the rest of the thieves some time. I imagine the rest of them would get along fine here as well. ”

  —The smile that lingered on Ren’s face would hopefully be indicative enough that he was happy to hear it. As Euden had probably picked up on by now, he wasn’t the most talkative individual, in this world or his own. Perfectly capable of holding a conversation, just not going out of his way to do so.

  Though, for the chance to talk about his friends? Yeah, Ren didn’t mind that talk on the horizon at all. The raven-haired boy gave a single nod in response.

  “No doubt. Fox especially would have loved it here.” As stated, the Halidom was beautiful. Even Ren, for his lack of artistic knowledge, could understand that. He could only imagine how Yusuke would have reacted to the lush green hills and, you know, dragons. Even if he would’ve been a whole new pain in the ass for Euden and friends....

  —“Hope the others haven’t been too much trouble.”

  The group Ren had accidentally brought with him were some of his more behaved allies, but he couldn’t say he was completely at ease, to be honest. Was Ann blowing the Halidom’s treasury on sweets? Morgana trying to fight Mym for calling him a cat? He could only imagine how many questions Sophia had asked already...

  That was most of the reason he’d sought Euden out. True, he wanted to become the prince’s friend; the man clearly had a heart of gold, after all. The Halidom in general was a wonderful place to be. But he just... wanted to make sure the Phantom Thieves weren’t raising too much hell.

  “They’re a lot to handle sometimes, but they’re good people.” Despite Joker’s worry, there was a genuine smile on his face as he said it. “They just get a little rowdy when Queen isn’t here.”

  —One long look at Isabelle. Expression impossible to read. A solid few seconds of silence.

  —Great. As if Joker needed another guy to keep away from the Smash kids. Maybe this’d be easier than expected— Cloud and Sephiroth don’t have guns, so maybe his would make this easy!
