over the years, i have been taught what certain cravings mean and how i can replace them in a healthy way. so i figured, why not share it with you guys?Â
if you crave chocolateâŚ
your body needs magnesium. a quick fix for this is raw nuts and seeds, legumes, or fresh fruits.Â
if you crave sweetsâŚ
your body might need some of the following:Â
-chromium - have some broccoli, grapes, cheese, or chicken.Â
-carbon - chow down on some fresh fruit.Â
-phosphorus - chicken, eggs, legumes, or grains can help.Â
-tryptophan - similar to magnesium, have some raw nuts and seeds, legumes, or fresh fruits.Â
if you crave bread or toastâŚÂ
your body needs nitrogen. have some high protein foods such as fish, meat, nuts, or beans.Â
if you crave fatty foodsâŚÂ
your body needs calcium. broccoli, kale, legumes, or cheese help.Â
if you crave alcoholâŚÂ
your body might need some of the following:
-protein - think seafood, dairy, or nuts.Â

It takes 3 months to make a drastic change to your appearance. By September you can be at your goal weight. By October you can dress in that Halloween costume you were waiting to wear until you lost the weight. By November you can wear big sweaters and cute socks and look ADORABLE. By December you can actually enjoy the holidays and not be concerned about that extra fat you used to carry around. By January, you can cross out âlose weightâ from your New Yearâs resolution because you were disciplined enough to get to your goal weight a long time ago. Just imagine where you could be if you just stick to your plans for the next 3 months.

âDisordered Eatingâ Things
- Simultaneously eating like a normal person and mentally lashing yourself for it.
- Not eating when you feel angry or sad, but then a few hours later you eat a bag of chocolate marshmallows because you somehow convince yourself it doesnât count.
-Â âI shouldnât have done thatâ
- Looking at thinspo at night and crying because you feel ugly
- The 5th grader pitch screaming in your head as you take another bite of food.
- a week of super healthy eating and working out followed by two weeks of unhealthy eatingÂ
- constantly shifting of wanting to look like a toned fitness model, to a thicc slim, to a skeleton fairyÂ
- *eating something* *someone comments on the thing you are eating* *stops eating thing* *50/50 chance you may eat it later*
- oh yeah, random moments of eating something before spontaneously destroying the food or tossing itÂ
-Â âOkay, after this weekend, Iâm fastingâ
- wishing you were anorexic knowing you shouldn'tÂ
- body dysmorphiaÂ
- Calling it disordered eating because you donât feel deserving of calling it an edÂ

This is my best friend. At the moment sheâs being kept alive by tubes and needles because her eating disorder is currently stronger than she is.
Does she weigh 90lbs? No, she doesnât. Does it look like her eating disorder is âless severeâ because sheâs not âthat thinâ? Do you think her situation sounds âless severeâ because sheâs not âthat thinâ?
Tubes and needles. Constant supervision. Pain, anger, agony. Hunger, thirst, suffering. Dizziness, constipation, freezing cold. Passing out in front of other patients and staff. Painful injections of vitamins and whatnot. Nurses whoâre force feeding her, whoâre forcing fluids into her body because her eating disorder is currently stronger than she is.
90lbs or not, without treatment - my best friend will die.
Would you have walked past her on the street and thought she even had an eating disorder at all? Probably not, because people keep believing you can measure or estimate a persons physical and mental health state based on the silhouette of someoneâs body.
You canât.
Never underestimate someoneâs eating disorder just because they donât look âthat thinâ to you. Being âthinâ is just one of MANY symptoms of an eating disorder and itâs far, far from the most important one. Anyone can struggle and if someone you know struggles: donât assume theyâre alright just because they donât look âthat thinâ.
Eating disorders come in one size; MISERABLE.
