I used to be scared of my dark, felt shame for feeling like I could rip a man apart. But I have since learned that that anger came from a place of a little scared girl who had her power stripped away.My unhealthy coping mechanisms, the worst parts of me, were created to protect me from the ugliness that I had to endure from the world. So while those parts are dark, and oftentimes, ravenous for revenge, they are worthy to be admired for being the shield to protect my innocence, and allowing me to make it through to the point where I could hold space for all the pain and all the good. And there's something boldly empowering about knowing you could be dark and heartless and cold, but you choose to be authentically kind and genuine. Something so poetic about wielding your kindness like a sword, when you've spent your life being shamed for your sensitivity. This is my era of full-on rebellion. I will live a joyful life, full of creativity and playfulness. I will treat everyone with this kind and tender heart that the world tried to rip from my chest. I will shine my light and find my tribe. We're gonna light the world ablaze! There's a revolution of love on the way!
