Does anyone I follow or who follows me watch LTT still in 2026?
I just kind of can't stand the channel anymore, and I've been done with it for a while. All of the recent layoffs and quits from the channel would have sealed the deal had it not been sealed already. They're so out of touch with any demographic I can conceive of, they recommend shit too expensive for the tech novice/entry enthusiast, and too shitty and tacky for the tech professional, it feels like they cater to the PC equivalent of the car guys who spend $10,000 more on a car for a chrome badge with the letter "s" and an exhaust system that makes their car 40dB louder.
What really gets my goat is Linus's insistence that adblockers = piracy. If I asked a friend to black out the ads in a magazine with a sharpie, would that be piracy? Is pressing the left arrow key five times at the start of a video or clicking onto another one before the end-credit ad rolls piracy? Is muting my audio, or turning my head, or throwing something on the stove during an ad piracy?
If I couldn't use an adblocker I wouldn't use youtube. Even with one I'm kind of over the platform. I own an LTT screwdriver, and in high school I had a WAN show t-shirt (haven't owned it in years, thank god), and if it weren't for adblockers I wouldn't have purchased either. If they could really convince me that adblockers = piracy, I'd gladly take a $90 refund for the screwdriver and tshirt and mail them a check for the $0.68 lost from me not contributing to their ad revenue.

It's way to early to be thinking about distribution of the game I'm working on, but I really can't imagine distributing a game in any other way than throwing the source code and the binaries onto my website and letting people download it for free. Maybe even get it in the gnome software center.
I could see myself trying to get it on Steam for like $15, but I don't know how they would feel about me distributing my software for free on another platform.
Krita and innochi creator both do it, they simply phrase it like a donation, so its definitely possible. Im not aware of any games that do it though.
That's what I'm kind of thinking I would want my ideal distribution to be as well. like, the game is free, the assets and code are free, but if you want the convenience of steam and maybe want to throw a couple of bucks my way for something I would have done anyway, maybe buy it there.
