why didn’t they call it gold digger? missed opportunity

i have a soft spot for this game because it was one one of the first little handhelds i ever owned.  i would play it on the bus, on my way to my first job.  the protagonist in mine was dora the explorer though, inexplicably.  i think it also had unlimited continues or i was just better at it, because i remember getting super far.

anyway, all you do is push a button to DIG for COIN, and then press up to bring it back a little faster. to this day i have no idea how to use the powerups or what exactly they do.

graphics: serviceable sound: no music, just the sound of ur little digger squeaking. controls: i can never get the timing down, but thats just me

here we have a puzzle game i dont quite understand, but its neat! probably based on something else like all of the other puzzle games, but i’ve never heard of this one.

graphics: simple. cute theme controls: check sound: generic jungletac music but sounds... a bit off?

its zuma. but a lot harder because no mouse cursor and the powerups kinda suck. watch me lose all my lives on level 2-1 rip 

 controls: it works well enough for what it is. the aim compensates for not having a mouse sound: no music sadly, but the sound effects are satisfying graphics: pretty

another ripoff, this time its the original mario bros. but terrible! usually i trust jungletac to make ripoffs that arent bad but this one is real bad. darn. you move so much slower than the enemies and there are a TON of them.

controls: so so stiff. so slow. help music: generic jungletac music. its ok graphics: like most of their games, these are definitely stolen. thats why they look so decent! i like the background a lot.

its just burger time.  its a decent version though!

controls: as expected music: i love it, but i feel like its probably ripped from somewhere graphics: very cute facelift of the original

huehuehue ball battle anyway this is an okay puzzler, match 5 in a row. it gets really hard really fast but i quite like this sort of thing.  not much to say about it.  

controls: ✔ graphics: cute pirate theme.  pretty basic otherwise music: generic jungletac music. not overly memorable, not annoying.

verdict: its solid!

breaking up all the terrible nicecode games with... a terrible jungletac game! woo!!  its a kart racer but also not really?  there’s no racing element, you just need to complete the circuit in the allotted time, and you’re given PLENTY of time.  there are other racers but they dont seem to change anything, theyre just an obstacle.  you dont even need to turn on the turns; they only slightly drift you in the wrong direction. whatever fun could be had with this is ruined by that loud droning sound that is supposed to be the engine.  i’ve ridden real go-karts and they arent this loud. also, there is just one very long track. bummer.

graphics: bright and colorful! i wish there were more tracks. i would like to see what other kinds of levels this game would have if they were given more than 12 minutes to work on it.  i’m also positive the graphics have been swiped from somewhere but idk where music: i cant hear it over the FUCKING MOTOR controls: it works
