Every once in a while I'll remember the legendary zohar002 and their amazing piano arrangements/covers. It's a shame that most of their videos got taken down for copyright, but there are still backups and archives of their covers/sheet music and I highly recommend checking them out if you like vgm

Who is zohar002?
Can you solve the mystery of the youtube pianist that is only know by the username zohar002?
He has 5,749 subscribers, 2,141,370 views and joined in 4 Aug 2007.
After uploading 11 videos showing exceptional composition, arrangements and ability on piano he vanished and hasn't uploaded a video for 7 years.
A stream of fans comment and ask for his return but no replies.
There is a rumour he is actually the composer of the pieces in the videos the legendary Yasunori Mitsuda. But others dispute this and say the room looks like a students accommodation.
Could zohar002 have died? If so why hasn't any of his friend commented after all this time?
The kangaroo toy on his piano could be connected to the sightings of kangaroo sightings in Miyagi prefecture. That would put his location as north Japan. Within travelling distance to a university as I guess he is studying.
Than there is some model making glue also.
I would age him as early 20's. The room has no natural lighting so it was probably recorded at night. The light colour is white and at times you can see a long light panel like an office strobe light reflecting onto the keys.
All of his videos are uploaded on either a Sunday or a Friday with one exception being on a Thursday. So he must have a busy schedule and only finds time at weekends to upload videos.
He appears to have above average English ability as there are no spelling errors in his descriptions or titles. Most local Japanese have little or poor English ability and would use Japanese script.

I make this post every year, Zohar is a pianist that creates some of the greatest piano VGM arrangements I have ever heard. He made 11 videos and then disappeared from the internet 4 years ago. I check back every year to see if he posts a new video or comments on something but he hasn't logged since 4 years ago. I would love to know what happened, did he die? give up on youtube?
the internet may never know what happened to Zohar but we can appreciate his music.
