The prologue is done! (I now realized i should have tagged all of these individually so i can make a prologue page in the blog but anyways). Im considering a small break before starting the next arc so i can stockpile for artfight and not die but we'll see if that's necessary
So my brain decided to mix cocktail of Luca, the stuff we’re learning in history class, Compapa and Dadbrane tropes and a dash of SU for flavor and shove a story down my throat in a dream.
The result? My very own Invader Zim au, which is currently dubbed the sea monke au. I will not take criticism.
@megxolotl came in as a literal angel and added her italian experiences and pun expertise to this. At this point, this au is a joined effort.
More stuff under the cut because i am unable to shut up about this thing:
Okay, so the basic premise of this au is that it’s the 1950s in a nice lil italian seaside town, where the membranes live. Irkens in this au are the usually 30ft tall behemoths you see computer being (though him being white is a defect, same as zim being so short), and they used to live near this nice lil town and got along quite well with the people there. Zim and Dib were actually childhood friends in this au.
But! It was world war two, and the irkens were assumed to be some sort of weapons.
So the entire town got bombed, and the irkens fled never to be seen again.
After that, Membrane got into Overprotective parent mode (partly because dib was out playing before it happened and he couldnt find him) and decided his children weren’t allowed 20 feet away from him at any time. He figured out pretty quickly that the bombing happened because of the irkens, and, fearing his children would be in danger if they ever went looking for them, he began denying they ever existed.
With a son like Dib, you can see how that would terribly backfire.
I’m heavily considering turning this into a comic. Well, no, I AM making this into a comic. The question is how much interest im gonna retain in it, and that’s gonna depend entirely on interest. So, uh, tell me if you’d be interested in a comic about this au? idk. It’s gonna be filled to the brim with family fluff, i can tell you that.
