Do you mean you’re looking for valid reasons for Character A to dislike Character B without it being due to something Character B has done/would be considered in the wrong for? Or are you after reasons for them to not fall in love with Character B without it being something Character B did wrong?

Either way, there is indeed always just not liking someone simply because you don’t like them; emotions are strange and often illogical things, so liking or disliking people, or wanting to pursue a relationship or not, are things not really in our control for the most part. Maybe Character A just doesn’t vibe with Character B in the way you’re looking for, and that’s okay

Though by the way you wrote your question I’m assuming you’re aware of this and are looking for more specific reasons, and that would depend on which way you meant it

Reasons For Dislike:

• Bad first impression

• You’ve heard bad things about them

• They associate with other people you dislike

• Zero common interests

• They’re accident-prone and this can negatively effect you

• They’re high-energy and you’re not

• You’re jealous of them

• They can’t take a hint to end the conversation

• They’re not a great listener

• They have habits or qualities you dislike

• They unintentionally embarrass you

• They’re hard to talk to

• You struggle to get a straight answer out of them

• You’re always the one who has to reach out to them

Reasons For Zero Attraction:

• One or both of you has a partner

• Incompatible sexualities

• They’re not your type

• Emotional unavailability

• Zero interest in relationships in general, not just towards them

• To busy/otherwise occupied to even think about whether you’re interested or not

• Existing dynamic would make it feel awkward (e.g. you wouldn’t be romantically interested in someone who’s like a sister to you)

• Previous dynamic would make it feel awkward (e.g. dating an ex’s sibling)

• You can’t imagine living with them

• You can’t imagine being intimate with them, sexually or otherwise

• You’re not looking to get romantically attached or tied down

• They have habits or qualities you’re fine with in a friend but wouldn’t want in a partner

• You don’t feel close enough to them to consider a romantic relationship with them

• You only consider them a work friend/colleague and wouldn’t date them on those grounds
